Today after dd2 dropped the boys off for school, her and the 2 little girls came in so she could fix their hair for "crazy hair day" at daycare. :o  Yesterday was pj day. They have something for every day this week. It's bad enough that they do that at school, but daycare? Dgd21mos was fine with her hairdo but dgd3 was not happy to have to mess with it.

I need to get a grocery list made and head to the store.

After I get back from the store, I need to start working on the walk-in storage closet. Since it is probably 1/4 to a 1/3 empty, I will take this time to do more sorting, rearranging, etc., while I am at it.

Good morning good habits is a great theme! Br-r 19* was our low this morning. One of the cats woke me up meowing to get in.
H got the trash to the curb.
I got one egg today from the new hen morning round of pet chores are done 2 of cats H. & I did these & fish at dd's by dgson then
 h. did one here turn on the lights  and then I come over and turn them off  and changed out their water.

I need to pick up an Rx get another one going and take dgd's coat to her at preschool.
I have a plan for dinner.

~sigh~ Just as we get in to a routine dgson decided he wants to sleep over here and ride this bus so that will be a treat day I suppose. He has a friend up the street.

Have a good day gals bbl

Our usual 2 eggs were laid yesterday afternoon, so I figured there would be none this a.m. and there weren't. I have scrubbed up the nest-eggs following all our bad weather, and put them back - they have certainly done their jobs as every egg since I first started using them has been laid right beside the fakes and none broken. Should a hen peck at one, the surprise of hitting wood will keep her from the bad habit in the future.
I have taken my huge pile of vitamins every morning

 I think piles of vitamins are a sign of well-being, scattered. You have to be rather well off to afford them. No, no, not so at all, I'm joking. I absolutely believe in taking the vitamins and supplements that are good for us and I'm pretty sure my "pile" is higher than most. I'm grateful a national chain vitamin store has located about 10 or 12 minutes away. It's not because their mail order isn't just as good, but because so often I'm not very prompt in getting orders made and they keep me from running out. After all, 4 of us in the house and all supposed to take at least a couple.

((helia and helia's dd)) I hope your aches and pains subside soon.

Hurray, BookSaver, for the repairs getting done.

Lynlee, have fun with creative sewing!

bolognese in crock pot.

Wow.

Sending warm thoughts to all those experiencing below zero!

Thinking about resolutions then? I have felt my resolve slide a bit on the household front, so I will watch that carefully. I want to keep up all year without fail. I think it's had to do with the long 4 day weekend and loss of usual schedule. For health/fitness I've kept up learning a lot and have been having very good days; let's hope that sticks!

It's the start of Focus cleaning Office-or-Other week. I'm having a time digging down to hit office surfaces, but have all intentions of cleaning them as soon as I can get them to turn up! Decluttering is Closets and assuming I'd like to finish where I started, I'm still in our master one. If I am just bowled over with boredom I'll go to the hallway.

I'm back.

My 2 hens came outside for a little bit and then went back inside. They are still laying. :?: In the dead of winter, no less - with no lights on them.

Little progress:
/ a.m. routine - still need to make my bed and start a load of towels
x menu plan and groc. list made
x email Th. dinner crew
x check online bills
x lunch
x ds called and I searched for a missing Ovid book for 15 minutes w/ him on the line. After we hung up, he called back 2 minutes later and rather sheepishly admitted that he had found it - in his backpack where he had packed it last night. ;) Ah, my son. . . . He had already done his Latin work for today, thank goodness, but he was thinking about his work for Thursday.
x chatted wtih dgirls; they get home early during finals week. :?: Finals are 1:40 and there are 2/day. I remember my hs finals being 2 hours and there were 3/day - that was a LONG time ago though, so maybe my memory is going the proverbial direction of "things were harder when I was young." Also, it was a unique high school -- not public but technically not private either, competitive entrance - classes were limited to 50 kids (only 35 remained by the time of graduation in my class), and it was modeled after European high schools of the time. --Sorry for the tangent. My girls can't complain -- and they aren't complaining. :) It sounds like dd17's finals today went OK, though it sounds like she could have been better prepared - I'm not surprised. She is dabbling with the game of figuring out beforehand how low she can score on the final and still get an A in a class. . . . That is a dangerous game to play; she may get away with it these years, but it will catch up with her eventually. Dd14's final seemed to have gone fine. Two more tomorrow.

The sun is shining!! I'm going to go to the groc. store now. I'm drinking another cup of tea to warm up my insides in preparation for leaving the house. He he! I am such a cold weather wimp now. We used to have days in a row of these temps. I'm growing soft. . . I will pre-warm the car, though. . .

Good morning everyone! I stayed up much too late last night, mostly doing cooking. My freezer is now full and all my leftover containers are in use. I tried three new recipes, so we will see how it goes. Today I have a document to work on at payroll. Tonight is Girls' Night Out, so dinner will be Chinese, followed by an expedition to Chuck E Cheese. I wonder what we will do when DD10 is no longer interested in CEC? I think I will stick to the worries of today rather than borrow trouble from tomorrow. Doubtless, we will think of something.

:D Good Morning, Villagers! :D

DH is on his way to Costco and Fred Meyer. He needs fire starters at FM.
I'm dressed, but will shower when he returns.
Our Ddil was so good to let me know that grsons-9 1/2-12 1/2-14-16 are no longer "into" crocheted gifts from me.
I'm happy she let me know, so I didn't make a lot early. I thought something was "up" when they said, "Thanks, Grandma," when they took out their yet-another crocheted hat at Christmas! It was that "oh, here we go again, another hat" tone of voice. It'll leave me time to do for the baby grd.
The fog isn't as bad today, it's going to rain tonight, tomorrow, and perhaps on Thurs. so the air inversion will leave. :) I'll post baby news at J & C.

Helia, The hens sound like they're cold. :(

Elizabeth, I stay up late, sometimes, too. I was wondering if it was harder for you to get going the next a.m., after staying up late, like it is with me? :?:

Harriet, I never realized a hen would lay eggs near fakes! :!:

Oh, Nancy, :o 19* is cold! :!:

Blessed, What is bolognese? Is it a foreign food? :?:

Lilac, The daycare having different days this week sounds fun for the kids! :)

Oh, Scattered! Sorry you're still sick and got sent home, too! Get well soon! :!:

Twins', It was a wonderful opener today, too! :) You have a gift! :!:

Lynlee, You sound so productive today. :)

Have a GR8 Day, Everybody!

Quick post & run ...

I love the adaptability of the weekly plan. It helps me keep up with my impulsive dh, who wanted company while running several errands yesterday. So today I'm home doing laundry & catching up from the weekend.

It's very cold & windy here. I've watched several doves eating seed on the ground getting blown sideways. There are fewer birds & squirrels here in the last week as two kinds of hawks have discovered our bird buffet.

My zones this week are the office & dining room. Think I'll start by clearing up old files & emails on my computer. But first switch wash to dryer & start another load.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

Hello Dear Ladies,

It's sunny but cold here, I think we have a high of 40.

I have really fallen off the resolution wagon and am trying to get back on it again. I have kept up with my Bible reading through it all but that's about it. I'm aiming for February 1 to be my restart.

Today was the first day I started tackling the house since being sick and it sure does show it. DH was doing the dishes but somehow lost interest in it. It was nice while it lasted.

Made a big pot of black beans, rice and sausage. Having a bowl for my lunch. It does taste good.

I've been listening to Treasure Island while I cleaned a bathroom.

Time for shower. Will putter at the house, would like to sweep and mop kitchen and entry way. And rest in between with some reading.

I have finished reviewing a document and sent it on its merry way. I need to call about my ceiling today. If I do nothing else today, I am bound and determined to get that done.

Ivy: Yes, oh yes, it is hard for me to get up after staying up late! Of course, it is hard for me to get up anytime. I am just not a morning person. (Wish I was though).
