Good morning, villagers ~
We kept power last night but the lights flickered a couple of times, so it's good that I shut down the computer. I ended up working on newsletters until 1:30 a.m. and they're almost ready to take to the post office.

The storms blew in some freaky stuff. The original forecast a couple days ago had said warm today with rain, then getting colder the rest of the week. We have already had our high temp for today at 57F, very warm. Now it's getting colder and instead of rain, it's supposed to start snowing and accumulate several inches of snow by Thursday. :P

Thus, my plan of slow & steady in the house this morning and then run errands after lunch has been sped up. I still need to s2s and put stamps on newsletters. Then I can hit the road with my 2 tote bags of paperwork and bank deposit, cloth shopping bags, cooler bag with ice pack, and water bottle to make the rounds and buy groceries in The Big City.

Trying to plan everything so I won't have to drive very far in the snow for a few days. Except I just remembered that I have a dentist appointment in The Big City on Thursday when they are predicting "bitter cold." (How's that for a swing, from 57 to near 0 in 2 days!) However, knowing I have to go back in a couple of days means I can cut at least one stop from today's list to make it more reasonable.

Emptynester ~ :D  :D for new appliances! Sounds like your remodel has been going very well so far.

Dee, I had missed you posting. I was hoping you were busy or tired and not sick. I'm glad you had such a great time with your ds and family. Also, glad they are home safe and sound. I am sure he needed that trip after that fire and the lost lives, last month. Thank you for the anniversary wishes. 42 years! Doesn't seem possible.

I need to get my hair colored, so I can get my errands ran before snow starts to fall. So guess I better get with it.

Lynlee: Hepatitis incubation periods depend on the strain. Since my strain hasn't been identified (and never will be), it is a guessing game. Hep A is about a month, others are 3 - 6 months but up to a year is also 'normal.' The illness hit 3 weeks after my first trip to the US North East (so that's not the likely culprit), 10 - 12 weeks after my trip to Atlanta, and 5 months after my trip to Africa. But the general consensus is that it was probably Africa. Which makes me afraid to go back for an extended stay (and safari, which is what was planned for our return trip.) It also makes me afraid of ds going (which he is thinking of on his way back from Australia.)

I'm up. Didn't exercise again since I'm giving my knee more time to heal. It is a bit better today but I'm still moving slowly and supporting myself on walls and furniture (but no cane.) I might try the nordic trak this afternoon since it is no-impact. I can't stop exercising completely or my weight will start to pile back on.

Freezing rain is forecast here so I'm staying home from volunteering. Dh has a drum lesson in the afternoon so he'll get stuck in it but the driving is easy between here and the lesson (just 10 minutes away, on rural roads with little traffic.)

I stayed up very late last night working on the service. The bulletin is ready to go and I've started to write the prayers that aren't in the bulletin. The sermon is fermenting in my head and will push its way out in the next day or two. That's just the first of 3 in a row I need to write so I'm working to get this one done so I can shift my brain into Lent mode.

Today I'll work on the service, organize all my church papers (there's joint board, annual report, my church board, Sunday school and Presbytery stuff as well as the resources I have piled up for the sermon writing) in order to get some of the dining table back.

No, I was only "semi-sick", Booksaver. My knees, especially my right, have been giving me fits and I think that makes me feel "over-all sickish".

Just finished cleaning the kitchen & doing dishes. Think I'll take a little break and read for a few. DH called about 10 minutes ago and said the hospital 'lost' him from about 5:30 - 10am. They had sent him to the 2nd floor to wait and dsonil was on the FOURTH! Dsonil is out of surgery and in a room, drinking coffee. Discharge time is 11 so they should be heading home before too long. DH said they 'probably' would stop for a bite to eat since dsonil hasn't eaten since dinner last night. Which ended up being grilled cheese & tomato soup. DH had given me the message via dsonil, "Don't worry about dinner". At 7 he came in to tell me the message really was, "Don't worry about DD for dinner". I had figured she was bringing something home.

BBL -thanks for 'missing' me, Booksaver.

Happy belated birthday to helia's dh!
H. has been tired so we slept here last night will tonight as well last day and night of house sitting. Later on will be doing cat chores after getting dgd and make up dd's bed. Dgson needs a shirt.

Chicken chores done first round they are staying in the run until I'm back told h. that b/c he worries about them getting in the street. Today I had to replace the bulb in the coop the one in the run where they are sleeping was fine so that was good news.

Morning stuff is underway today here.

I think I read it is a Happy Wedding Anniversary to Lilac and Mr. Lilac, too! :D :D (I sure hope I didn't read that incorrectly!)

I'll tackle the last 2 preemie hats for gdg today. I've done 3, did 3 flower headbands and 1 dress. DH will buy pull-on knitted socks today.

I'll finish my house blessing today, too. At least I got it started yesterday and DH did toilets and vacuumed. :)

I need to tackle files one of these days, too!

Everyone, Have a good morning and/or afternoon (wherever you're located) and have a good Tackle It Tuesday, too!

Happy Anniversary to Lilac and her DH! Belated Happy Birthday to Mr. Helia!

Well, not having the greatest day. Slogging through, though. Tackling it, as we are saying today.

I guess my mood isn't the greatest. DFriend who had been coming here now and then for prayer for her marriage told us yesterday her nsdH left her for the secretary. She had gone back to church, watched a movie about marriage, had a book and a workbook on it, and was really trying. I feel so bad for her. I had asked a whole group at church to pray for them.

Last eve. I worked on the books, paid payroll taxes, etc. Just one last thing to do to close out the month, then pay bills, make spreadsheet. But today I am working in the kitchen AGAIN. I cleaned another set of cabinets, the ones with the glass doors on both sides and the glass shelves. All sparkly now.

On to the pantry next.
