Lots of credibility, Harriet. Of course we knew that. He was walking completely bent over and his legs and ankles would swell unbelievably. Now, can one make that happen? :?

Think I 'broke' the vacuum cleaner. Was vacuuming and it just plain quit. Thought I'd blown a breaker, but not the case. After lots of time to cool down it won't even switch on and the switch itself seems to not click on or off. Oh no! Neither of us can afford a new cleaner right now. DH will take it to the shed to check it out later. Meantime, if a house ever needs vaccuming, this one does!

I sent a letter, along with the new fax, for dh's esophagus medicine to his Dr. on Friday. For some reason Med co only gave him 45 day supply with no refills. I see on the web page that it's evidently been reordered by dh's dr. So will see what happens with this one. Can't be refilled until Feb. 5th according to that page. I had told him that this is what happened when he ordered it several weeks ago too. He was a little mystified as he knew he had written a script for 180 days at 2 a day with refills. That came the same way. I had just ordered a new script for my BP medicine and evidently that went okay for a change -it was shipped today.

Uh Oh! :o Chalk me up in the "I broke something" column! So crazy, Dee - I think I just broke a gooseneck lamp vacuuming. I was using it to give me light as I vacuumed behind HRH's desk, and it just...quit. :( No pressure on the plug at all, and I would wonder about turning it at an odd angle, but it IS a gooseneck lamp, that's what it DOES, right? Oh dear. HRH just gave me his finer elbow-style one for my desk and took this more ordinary one for his. Maybe, as you say, after time it will work again... ...

Ya'll be careful. There may be an epidemic.

Twins' Mom certainly was on her advice game today, more than me. Of course, tutorials on the net are the way to go, even youtube. Emptynester, I'd say as long as you have enough table space to spread the project out well you won't get frustrated. My, you and Mr. Emptynester certainly have the energy lately.

Dee: You can try sweeping the carpet with a damp tea towel tied over the broom (better if there is a push broom as opposed to a fan broom.) The damp should pick up the dust and crumbs. If you then brush the carpet after with a push broom, the nap will come up. My first house cleaner used to damp mop the carpet on the stairs with the b-mop (plain water) and then brush them with a floor scrub brush. They came up looking great.

I'm spinning my wheels here but dh is done his conference call now so I should be able to concentrate.

AH!! Being the Wise Woman that I am. I looked up SW window decor for some ideas. One of the one I liked had some bamboo shades. AH HA, says I. Maybe the big dept store where I have reward points will have something like that. WOOT!!! Bamboo Roman Shades - right size, right color, on sale, free delivery and within about $5 of my rewards points. They have some wider slats in cream color and then some narrow slats in a bit darker color. I think they are just what I want.

Now I just have to make the order form take my coupons and rewards points. I think I am going to have to call to order as my connection is slow and it goofs up the order process.

Now to figure out what to do with the smaller kitchen window.

MT, those bamboo ones sound perfect! I have a couple patterns and always wanted to make some. But never had time because for instance when we moved in here DH was freakie about not having anything on the windows even 24 hours. I have patterns for the straight kind and the ones that are more ruffley scolloped at the end kind. I even found the little white plastic rings I bought for the back side for the cords! I think they're so pretty.

Wondering how OKay's travels went?

My wisdom today was to slow down a bit and not work quite so hard. There is still a lot to do, but I have lots needing done and I don't want to burn out before Sunday eve. gets here. Last eve I got back up on the ladder and cleaned the 3 lights in the kitchen. Wow they look so much better.

Then, very very late, midnight or so, in this crazy house, I discovered underneath my laundry tub sink in the cabinet, the plastic cleaning supply carrier was once again filled up with water. So that got emptied out, everything washed, some stuff thrown away, the cabinet and floor around scrubbed. I put plastic containers under there to catch any drips. As close as I can tell it's the big pipe on the drain where the fitting is leaking. DH says he will bring home the great big wrench to fix.

So it was after 1:00 when I began to make lunches...

Spent some time just on me for a change this morning. A nice long shower and scalp treatment; worked on my feet too. Poor feet were sore from being on the ladder and on my feet so much yesterday. I wish I had a pedometer. I'll bet yesterday's number was huge!

I'm doing desk chores. Then I'll finish the kitchen by cleaning off and washing the table. I want to clean the family room blinds today also.

Harmony that is great wisdom!
Dd is home came by to give the kids a hug before dgson he got on the bus here. We had a good visit she said the food was not good on the cruise, powdered eggs it sounded like, soy bacon  she was not impressed this was a smaller cruise. Sil planned the excursions for early each day and she had to miss one to try to check in b/c of the spotty cell coverage. But are rested relaxed and not so stressed to that was good. [She clued me in on when the next trip not a cruise would be near the end of the school year when we would be needed for granny duty so we can plan ahead for that.]

What I said about dgson's school stuff was perfect b/c the teach left her a voice mail with info. so she got it.

The grands have left I have the rest of the day off & h. will be getting oil changed in his truck after work so I have some peace and quiet today!

I'm back from a walk and will be heading out to do some yard work raking leaves in a bit. 8-) Weather is lovely and sunny here today.

Ah, you certainly are a wise woman, MT! Sounds great!

So, a.m. routine is done but woefully after 10 a.m. It took me 12 minutes to make the MBR bed. I decided to time myself; with the way dh likes it, it takes a lot of time. I have gathered towels and have them going in the machines. I should strip the girls bed -- but there are several things I need to do today. Currently ,I am having lunch.

I just got off the phone with dfriend S2 (to distinguish from dfriend S who is married to dfriend R; Dfriend S2 is my prayer partner, my moms group small group leader, a member of our book club, and a member of our church small group) who has an appointment on this side of town this afternoon. She will bike over to the appt. since her car is in the shop, which incidentally is also on this side of town too. She said she ran home (about 7 miles) after she dropped off the car this morning. She definitely has a can-do attitude! She is a marathon runner so that might explain some of that. . . I've decided to "label" her here b/c I see her a fair bit, as you can tell. . . . She is probably my 2nd bff here.

After lunch, I will start the breadmaker and call dfriend for whom I am making a meal today. I emailed her yesterday asking about a good time to drop it off, but she hasn't gotten back to me. Then, I will get the meal ready! This means most of our meal will also be prepped.

Dh arrives home this afternoon but will go straight to his office and then off to teach his class.
