I'm up but not awake. Slept most of the night in the chair as my neck was bothering me. Think it was tension from having guests for dinner. Slept in the bed from 4 to 8 so I got some rest.

Think we are heading into the city today for some things we can't get out here. We need new door knobs on the 2 exterior doors. I want to get the lever kind as they are so much easier to open.

I picked up a set of stainless silver yesterday. A set of 8 or $50 so you know they are not wonderful - but they all match which is much better than what I had before. The old stuff will go to the MH.

I have dishes to do before I can eat breakfast as we used all the bowls last night. BS is 17 points over goal this morning but I'll chalk that up to stress, too.

Either one of us can't open the pickle jar need to get one of those electric jar openers I want one! [The rubber circle thing did not work either.]

Just found out Dgd will not be here today argh h. has the car.
Dgson will be here after school today. Good news! His grades are greatly improved this time yea! one 4 and some 3's [no 1&2's].

Sunshine here today and I have a window open in the kitchen.

CNN news popped up on my phone saying a shooting and explosion in upstate NY and it turned out to be the town where Dsister-inlaw lives. So called to see if all right with her. Yes she is fine, people were being told to stay inside. There are too many shootings going on these days.

I am a big fan of James Taylor too.

Got my blood pressure a little out of whack this morning with an annoying phone call trying to correct a billing error. Rep said they have an investigator on it. Will just call every morning until it is resolved.

So ended up sitting in the recliner and watching the fish swim trying to feel calm again.

Work day today so need to get going on some things around here.

Working my way through the list of things that need to be done before I can have my little personal vacation the next 3 days.

So far I feel on schedule. Trying to avoid the last-minute stress tonight and full-on panic tomorrow morning.

I'm late, I'm late...not time to say Hello, Goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late...

But...just found out two things I need to share... DREAMS do come TRUE!!!

My son is now professionally employed. He chased his dream and will start working for a very large international communication corp and will be moving to Dallas after he graduates in June

AND....

My niece was just asked by the Philadelphia Ballet to join their company and dance professionally. She is 20 and started dancing at 3. Its her dream of a lifetime and one that she has scraficed many teen events for.

Got some updating done in quicken and balanced a number of accounts today, so that was good.

Choir went ok, not great. By the end I could hit a C (normally I can hit the d and often d#.) Everyone told me how sick I must be because I looked so bad. I knew I looked bad but dh doesn't see it. Even at the general store the post mistress commented. I have absolutely no energy.

I think I'll go to bed because I'm not doing anything while out of bed.

I am up to date on the news out of Rome.

OKay, how is LO doing in school? I'm sorry about your tooth. And still you continue to do your cards...

I should be able to keep on around here. It is so hard though. I did do a bunch of stuff at my desk, got lots cleared up and sorted out. Went to bank, dropped off a couple things at the Church and talked with the ladies there who were working so hard cleaning out the whole kitchen and the cafe. I was supposed to be there helping. They were progressing nicely though.

I ran another couple errands on the way home. Was doing some computer work and coughed too hard and have a very sore muscle right above my rib area. Ouch. It really hurts to cough now.

Helped DH load / unload truck (moving slowly) it's terrible, neither of us is moving well. He's been working awfully hard the past couple days. I did get some groceries on the way home, we were out of bread. Anyway, I must look at our job folders, there's a lot of billing to do; we've been working and paying and it's time to get paid for all that work.

I'm discouraged, seems like I can't shake this thing; I sound better, but don't feel better. I bought a shrink-wrapped stack of tissue boxes (5) as that's how many we've been going through!

And now it's dinner time. Where's the cook? Or the maid? I don't see her around.

Hello Village!

I'm busy writing, decluttering, doing laundry, and reading mail, etc... Not much time to cuop right now. However, a pen pal sent me something funny, which I thought was cute enough to share, to give someone or all of you a quick laugh! Here goes:

HOW TO GIVE YOUR CAT A PILL

1. Grasp cat firmly in your arms. Cradle its head in the crook of your elbow, just as if you were giving a baby a bottle. Coo confidently, "That's a nice kitty." Drop the pill into its mouth.
2. Retrieve cat from top of lamp and pill from under sofa.
3. Follow same procedure as in #1, but hold cat's front paws down with left hand and back paws down with elbow of right arm. Poke pill into its mouth with right forefinger.
4. Retrieve cat from under bed. Get new pill from bottle. (Resist impulse to get new cat.)
5. Again proceed as in #1, except when you have cat firmly cradled in bottle-feeding position,, sit down on edge of chair, fold your torso over the cat, bring your right hand over your left elbow, open cat's mouth by lifting the upper jaw and pop the pill in quickly. Since your head is down byyour knees, you won't be able to see what you're doing. That's just as well.
6. Leave cat hanging on drapes. Leave pill in your hair.
7. If you're a woman, have a good cry. If you're a man, have a good cry.
8. Now, pull yourself together. Who's the boss here anyway? Retrieve cat and pill. Assuming position #1, say sternly, "Who's the boss here, anyway?" Open cat's mouth, take pill and...... Ooooooooops!
9. This isn't working is it? Collapse and think. Aha! Those flashing claws are causing chaos.
10. Crawl to linen closet. Drag back large beach towel. Spread towel on floor.
11. Retrieve cat from kitchen counter and pill from potted plant.
12. Spread cat on towel near one end with its head over long edge.
13. Flatten cat's front and back legs over it's stomach. (Resist impulse to flatten cat.)
14. Roll cat in towel. Work fast! Time and tabbies wait for no man or woman.
15. Resume position #1. Rotate your left hand to cat's head. Press its mouth at the jaw hinges like opening the petals of a snapdragon.
16. Drop pill into cat's mouth and poke gently. Viola! It's done.
17. Vacuum up loose fur (cat's). Apply bandaged to wounds. (Yours.)
18. Take two aspirin and lie down.
