LOL, Harriet!

Well I am feeling better today. A little bit. But I'll take it.

I'd been concerned about my eyes that something was wrong with them, though my sight was fine. Anyway, DH had a sample bottle of antibiotic that he was supposed to use when he went and had the "foreign object" removed and there were a couple drops left so I used them. Yeah, I know, not supposed to do stuff like that...but I did.

I don't think there was any infection, but I did get out my skin medicines and used them on my face, then on my eyelids, being very careful not to get anything into my eyes...and this seems to have helped. I am about half way to normal skin, so I guess somehow my flu triggered that awful problem to emerge.

Today, I got lots done at my desk, files organized, etc. Did a proposal with DH and got that off. And, TADA I found all the missing money from our account as I constructed a statement for customer. Yikes, we had a lot of expenses on that one. He is out now delivering that and hopefully will come back with a check.

It's a little cold, cloudy and we've had rain. Yesterday I got the house cleaned up, kitchen mopped. I attempted to wipe out the refrigerator, but found the spills had dripped down into cracks and crevices, so I began taking out shelves and drawers, got all that cleaned, and then couldn't get it put back together. This refrigerator is the most complicated of any I've ever owned. After all these years, I'm till struggling to get it back together whenever I remove anything. Anyway, after a long while of struggling I did get it back together and it looks clean and shiny again. House isn't too bad except laundry is piling up a bit.

Cue Hallelujiah Chorus LOUD!!! I have finished dNiece's doll dress! Tonight I am going to try taking photos and putting them on Ravelry. I will let everyone here know how to get a look at it once I have figured it out. Of course, I stayed up too late doing it, but it was so close, I HAD to finish. I also managed to fix my garbage disposal last night GO ME.

Right now I am eating the lunch I brought from home and I am not exactly thrilled with it. It is Chicken Caccitore. I am not the biggest fan of tomatoes, why I decided to make this I don't remember. Unfortunately, I have 2 more meals of it.

Today I need to:
Turn in W4
Mail letter
Call insurance company
Refill prescription

Tonight I will:
Eat dinner with some people from church at a local restaurant
LOL
Print out next crochet project - a vest for DD11
Put finished project on Ravelry web site

Yes, LOL harriet! I too feel important when Lily and Pepper follow me around. Now, I sometimes can't even go to the bathroom w/out them both joining me. .. Oh, how fun! Ah, dh and I are the slacker parents compared to you and HRH. I have no idea what the girls have due when, beyond tests and big projects, which we ask them to tell us about when we go over our weekly schedules Sunday nights. Dh doesn't have the bandwidth to help much (though he is the girls' main story editor, which is ironic on several levels. . . . ) and the girls don't particularly want our help. And I'm lazy. . . LOL! I know I asked dd14 about quizzing her before a science test last fall, and she politely declined. We do encourage them to study early (not just the night before) when we know they have a test coming up. And I do believe our dinner conversations are often quite educational, the direction depending a little upon who is eating with us: dfriend R, dfriend S, ds, dphyscis prof. friend each tend to bring their own interesting conversation topics whenever they join us.

I miss interesting dinner conversation. Because dh and I live and work in the same space, by dinner time there's nothing interesting to talk about. That might be partly why we've taken to watch netflix tv shows over dinner (dh never used to watch tv at all until 4 years ago, now he watches tv and movies daily.) At least if we are watching tv we can talk about the plot and character development after the show is over.

Last night I made a full roast beef dinner so we sat at the dining table, with candles and Irish music on in the background. Of course, we had dessert in front of the tv....

Back from choir. Ran into the former secretary for the church board at the general store so she came over with all the files to dump them on me. We will be inspected by the Presbytery soon, so I need to get everything signed and up to date before our April meeting.

Sad to say that getting those files is my one accomplishment today.

Kathryn, if I spent all day with dh, I'm sure we wouldn't have much to talk about over dinner, though dh is such a good "talker" I'm sure he'd find something, whether or not I found it interesting.

Our dinners have been sorely fractured this year, so it is rare when the 4 of us can sit down by ourselves to a leisurely meal. (I guess that is not necessarily related to conversation; the four of us can talk about what is going on in our lives, but our dinner guests often bring topics with them we wouldn't necessarily think of.) This week - dd14 has band rehearsal 6:30 - 8:30 tonight, and dd17 will head off to tutoring at 5 pm. I'll get home from Hebrew around 6:10 (if I leave a little early) to take dd14 to the school. Only dh and I will be around for dinner. (Maybe we'll go out?) Tomorrow night, dd14 has her oboe lesson until 5:45. She will likely need to be at the school by 6:30 for her 7 pm concert, which I am also attending. We won't get home from her oboe lesson until 6:10-ish, unless her teacher is running on time (which she was last week due to performances). She may need to be dropped off at the school immediately after her lesson to make her time contraints work. I think dinner will need to be a crockpot meal and eaten hurriedly. Dh may not even be home in time to join us; he isn't home until closer to 7 many nights. Wed. we should be able to have a family dinner! Yay! THe girls may/may not be off to youth group 7 pm Wed. night, but we can eat before they go. Dh may be late joining us. Thursday, we may have our dinner crew with us. Friday, a dfriend of mine is arriving for the weekend (F - Mon.) and will likely join us for dinner. Saturday night is small group, Sunday night R and S always join us. And then we're back to Monday. At least dd14 won't have a band rehearsal next Monday - and I won't have Hebrew class next Monday.

Still lost in closet land but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Going through every box, drawers and hanging items. That's why this is taking so long. Plus I am organizing as I go along. Puppies are snoozing while I work away. In my house its ... Mary had a little lamb and I have Sadie and Willis. Bathroom visits are like having a two yr old hanging around your knees

This weekend got the bulbs transplanted dgd loves doing that!
Today's goal get busy on the crab grass digging it out.
Now I'm working on a patch by the rose bush in the lawn before starting the hens were too much help when we get going on it! Crab grass be gone! In the spot I scooped the grass off of the hens are took turns working it for bugs and worms. Later I raked the crab grass out of it as best I could as dgd was trying to dig too that area will need worked up again with a deeper spading. Hoping that's enough exercise for my arms today! We then hosed some areas that needed it. Wind is up now.

Dh is going to order pizza for dinner tonight. I'm craving it and he's been a good boy so deserves it (it used to be a weekly pleasure but I've cut it down to every 10 - 14 days.)

I'm going to do the ironing now and listen to a radio article.

Hi everybody!

I'm having a busier day "at home" than I usually have at work.

Doctor's appt for first physical appt in years.
Went from there straight to the lab for bloodwork. I had been fasting since last night at 8 in preparation for this. Receptionist at lab was impressed.
After that I went to the xray/imaging department in the same building to set up appt for mammo and bone density test. Both will be on Wednesday at the same time.

All of the above is at absolutely no cost. Not even parking. (A lot of new medical buildings charge for parking around here.)

After that I went to Subway because I was sooooo hungry.

Then I ate the sub on the way to my hair appt. Mike and I both had our hair shortened slightly. "Just the dead ends" Mike paid for my hair cut and my tip. (We see the same guy, so Mike put a $10 in the counter instead of both of us putting a $5.) Mike's total cost was $15 for his cut and $25 for mine plus the tip. Considering we both have long hair, because I am a woman, they charge $10 more...

Dh and I went in separate cars and we literally raced each other home to see who would get the shower first. We both hate the little tiny itchy hairs that get into your clothes even with the big black shawl that gets used to cover people up. Mike, suprisingly, won. (I am a faster, more aggressive driver, but I got stuck at a red light that Mike blazed through. He had been behind me in the same lane, but changed lanes and blew past me with a grin and a wave. )

I also dropped off and picked up 2 things that Mike needed to be sewn. Less than $5 for both pieces!

Altogether I spent less than $15. for everything and had a very productive day.

Bathroom visits are like having a two yr old hanging around your knees

Same here with Macs and Moe following me in the bathroom.

Rough day today. I am dragging and have had petty stupid temple issues that have me upset. Also let the tax dept managing partner know that I won't be around after 4/15. Left it open to come back in fall or next tax season. Have been weepy about the stupid temple stuff. I can't believe that someone can be so petty as to complain because we changed our acknowledgment for donations from a card with handwritten 'fill in the blanks" that unfortunately, were often illegible or misspelled, to a "tacky cheap" computer printed acknowledgement. And this particular little old lady has gotten others stirred up about it.

I need to take ddogs out for a walk and then I'm going to get in bed and pull the covers up. I'm feeling pretty low about getting through the next four weeks of tax season, the next year as temple president, and the next few days. On wednesday I have the hearing re: dsis, and then a temple bd meeting in the p.m. Oy.
