I am fighting a bit of a cold today glad I went to bed early last night
I'm sure that helped. I've not done chickens yet today. I fed 'em last night.
Waiting for the pumpkin I thawed in the microwave to cool.
37*-61* rain w a wind advisory so it will be a good day to get the inside stuff done.

I've had breakfast & coffee.
qt & journaling done
bs was good today 77*

The fabric 1 1/4 yds I got for dgd a blanket is not long enough so I need to measure it and I'll have to get more and make sure it's at least 2 yds. or 50" in length. Bummer! =( sigh oh well learning as I go. I suppose it won't matter as she wanted to take this one home any way. But I was trying to get one to fit over the crib mattress. Will have to do that before noon as dgson has early release and is coming here today. After having 3 kiddos with me last week I have SO much more respect for moms with 3+ kids in tow now.

Saw this in FB
from CEO Dear ... friends, please forgive me. Due to a family emergency, I'm unable to post daily updates to the Cleaning Grand Plan Challenge at this time. I'll do my best to keep weekly updates posted for the remainder of the Challenge ...

♥Happy Birthday MamaP♥

Morning routine still in progress here. I'm on a break for a cuppa coffee. Yesterday after a rest break dh went back outside to rake more pine needles. He ended up with 10 large garden waste bags full. I helped him drag them across yard to front porch. We will have to put them out for pick up two or three at a time along with our regular trash can each week.

We met a new neighbor yesterday while working. He was walking his dog which happened to be a black lab. He lives about five houses down the street and has been here for about 8 years. We talked about our dogs and he told us about the car accident he had been in about a year ago. He was driving his truck out of our neighborhood and a car on main road ran the red light - guess he got t-boned. (It was a local police car that hit him. The gas station across the street has cameras and caught the whole scene) Anyway he broke the 3rd vertebrae in his neck and took him many months to get better. He is a master plumber by trade and dr. said not to do that anymore full time, he's still looking for a different job. But he told us that if we needed any plumbing done to give him a call. (His name is Jeff and seems like a really nice guy.

On Monday ds#3 came after work and took down the holiday lights that were along the roof. I coiled them up as he took nails out. Finally it's all put away! The grass doesn't need cut yet but his used the edger along the driveway and sidewalk. The grass is still a little brownish (everyone's is, unless they water lawn regularly), but our amaryllis is still blooming along the front of the house, so doesn't look to bad.

I started a lol that needs flipping now and I need to vacuum carpets.......

Good morning! It still is morning. . .

Last night: Dh applauded me for resisting bailing out the Chinese student arriving on the train at 11:30 pm. I'm proud of myself too; I don't have to be the savior of everyone! After the concert, dh emailed her (and dpastor friend) with the phone number of a cab service, and told her to call him if she got stuck. He then invited her to join us for our Thursday dinner party. She was very grateful for the cab # and is returning home today so won't join us tomorrow, though she may be here for more grad work in the fall.

The concert was lovely, impressive as usual. I'm glad dd14 will move up into the upper bands next year. (We don't know that definitively, but the director told her as much at her audition.) She is considering trying out for the drum line this summer too, esp. since oboes don't march. (She can always march with her flute if necessary.) She is such a tiny thing, but I guess some of the drums are small - and new drum line members often start with cymbals.

The best news from last night: I found a 2nd babysitter for our steering comm. meeting, so we're all set now! There will be 6-7 kids (2 are school aged) there, so 2 adults are necessary.

Different morning:
x 7:30, dd17 to breakfast optimist club meeting to receive an award.
x a.m. routine is done
x draft of agenda for steering comm. meeting has been written and emailed out
x various emails handled, some from steer. comm. members, some from dfriend arriving here on Friday, etc.

I'm off now for some quiet study time and then to switch the twins. I'm meeting dfriend at her home at 2 pm for a walk and tea. Today is her day off! She words 10 hours/day, 4 days/week as an OR nurse. I will try to run a couple errands beforehand, Asian store for rice (I didn't get to that last week - and now we're completely out), library, and possibly the bank. The girls are likely going to church youth group tonight, which means we need to eat around 6 pm. The menu: swiss steak, rice (we'll have potatoes tomorrow night instead), steamed broccoli, dinner rolls.

It still is morning here, too, just barely. So, good morning!

SUNNY, it always amazes me how different parts of the country deal with pine needles. When I lived in NC, we would buy bales of them to spread around to keep weeds down and improve the appearance in our small wooded area. Then I moved to a different part of the country where they were raked up and burned! I felt like saying "Wait a minute...those are valuable!" But I understand you must have way too many in FL.

I have the house under control today and thanks to frozen food month, supper will be easy. Debating whether to tackle paperwork or make a trip to L owe's. Will watch the news, then decide...

Happy Spring (or Fall) to all!

Home from physio. Cancelled Friday's appointment and booked one for Monday. Got home and discovered I'm needed to take my senior friend out on Friday. So, good thing I cancelled but I don't get any extra time to get things done. Sigh....

I've had lunch so will now call dd who has requested a call.

Hearing was very short - less than 30 minutes and guardianship order is being drawn by the court. Dh and I stopped off at our insurance agency, where they filled out an application for a bond for me.

I'm taking the day off work. I have a temple bd meeting tonight so need to do some prep later in the afternoon - for now I am going to take a nap and try not to think. I did not sleep well last night and was awake from about 4:15 on...

Oh, Twins, I'm so glad it was brief and it sounds pretty much no-hassle for you today. I'm also glad dh was with you - didn't know he would be able to do that. I can just imagine that sleep was difficult.

Gee, I hope everything will be all right with CEO's family. Thanks, Nancy.

Does anyone chat regularly that way with mamapiano these days?

CathyS, here HRH found that sublingual tablets of B-12 were as effective as shots every 2 weeks had been, and he hasn't had to have a shot now in a couple years. He just holds a tablet under his tongue and it melts quickly. You may never need a shot again, but just thought you'd like to know his experience.

Thanks for reminder, helia. There's a jasmine brown rice I like at the grocery and I need to ask about it next time. Glad you got your babysitter worries handled.

Sunny, I can't imagine amaryllis so abundant it would be across the front of a house! What color do you have? Wow, what are the odds that a car accident would be caught on a store camera.

Lilac, I hope your granddaughter's arm is helped a lot by the stability of the brace.

much more respect for moms with 3+ kids in tow now

Nancy, when our 3 grandboys come, all progress stops in the tracks.
