Hi Everyone! Posting quickly here....it's looking stormy outside now. We had a thunderstorm on Friday evening and a few showers yesterday. Temp is 80* and very gusty.

Just talked to ds#2 and they will be here today except dgd18 who is working. We weren't sure if they were coming so didn't have food out of the freezer; we'll probably go out, which will be a treat as dh and I haven't had dinner out for a while.

Also talked to my dcousin. They left FL on Wed for their home in VA, but took two and 1/2 days - two nights on the road. They will be there till mid-April, then start out for their summer home in AK. I was glad to hear that travel was good and they're home safe.

I'm hearing thunder so guess it's time to shut down and get my clothes changed. Hello to everyone looking in today.

Up from nice nap. I'm going to run out to grocery and dollar store. Should reboot laundry before I go, too.

Hmmmm, I think I'll go down for a nap after this post and pulling in the laundry off the line.

Yesterday was overly stressful.

The first part was nice - we were introduced to a number of this composer's hymns and heard some stories around them. He just writes the music, working with about 18 lyricists. That took just over 2 hours and didn't involve a lot of singing. I sang lead because there was no teaching of parts and I need to deeply learn an alto part before I can sing it.

Then we had 1 hour off for dinner, then a choir practice for the evening concert. There were 19 pieces. I knew two very well (alto part for one, alto and lead for another since dh and I do it as part of our Christmas duets.) Three I had heard/sung before. The remainder were new to our church choir members. Luckily there were about 23 of us in the choir (5 from our congregations, about 10 from the host church and remainder from other churches) and those from the host church had learned all the pieces properly so we had other voices to follow. He ran through the pieces one by one, skipping a few of them, doing only part of each of the rest of them.

Then we had a 15 minute break before the concert. My back and neck were completely stiff from the stress of hitting all this new music. Then it was time for the concert. We sang through 3 - 5 pieces at a time, then there would be a break and he'd talk. I'd focus on calming the knot between my shoulder blades and breathing deeply while he talked.

This was not fun for me. I stress over learning the 5 pieces for Holy Week and I have 4 weeks to learn those. Dh loved it and had a great time. All the pieces are a blur and I only remember that I want to look up a Pentecost one. But aside from that, I don't remember much about the music. Of course, when I come across the pieces again, I will know them a bit better, but only a bit. Performing music that I've never seen/heard before, trying to get the notes, phrasing, words and breathing right without any practice is not really fun.

Anyway, dh and our church musician had a blast and our soprano did really well with the descants so our little church, once again, punches above its weight when it comes to singing.

This morning was Palm Sunday and it is a big service because it has two moods, the joyful, triumphant entry to Jerusalem and then the Passion. I led the kids on the parading with the palms and took them up into the choir loft and back down during one pass, and through the pulpit area and down on the second pass. May as well have fun with the task rather than march round and round in a boring circle. Next year I'll take them downstairs and back up the back stairs. If they give me the job again.

After the kids went for Sunday School we did a narrative reading with parts for the Passion. I had one line. Which I blew. Don't care about that. Then after church we had a practice with the kids for the Easter Anthem.

Still not sure what I'm going to do about the Sunrise service. I did announce that people will have to bring proper footwear and that the parking lot was blocked. Someone offered to go shovel it out and I said I'd take him up on the offer if it was still blocked by Thursday. We are getting warm temps but no sunshine. Makes for a slow melt and reduced risk of flooding, so that's good (the river is high but still frozen at this point.) But I'm not sure the river will open up before next week and it certainly doesn't feel spring like.

Each evening, the next day's forecast is for sun and then the next day we just get cloud. I'm annoyed they can't forecast 10 hours in advance. They used to be able to do that, but now they give us a 10 day forecast and no more of it comes true than would if one was throwing darts at the wall randomly hitting assorted forecast descriptions. I checked the forecast at 11:20 last night, put on the laundry for delayed start and when we woke up this morning at 8, the promised sun was not there and only showed up for about 1 hour in total today.

So now I'll go bring the sheets in. They may be dry because it has been windy, but some sunlight would have been nice too to make them feel cleaner.

I need to light a fire under my tushy! Brought in groceries and have yet to put away stuff. Bought a case of GS cookies at the grocery - they were seling in front. I got half and half of my favorities and dh's favorite.

feeling a lot guilty as I haven't done anything but have fun. dh and I took d mil to church and went out for lunch. I need to focus.

Dh's cold/sinus/allergy thing is making him miserable...and me too! He finally went upstairs for a nap after hogging the laptop all day. I cleaned the mouse and keyboard with a disinfectant wipe. Hope I don't catch whatever he has.

Tadas: Folded laundry, made bed, cooked chicken in crockpot, made lunch, doled out medicine, did daily readings, put trash at curb for tomorrow, refrained from yelling at poor sick Dh.

Needless to say, we did not get to church today. At least I am looking forward to watching "The Bible" tonight.

My nap was nice. Got up and flipped Bert & Ernie, the good news is that I have the last LOL in Ernie! Played with my soap, now need to flip B&E again, get dinner going and start on my homework.
