Taxes.

Every year I think I'm going to start early and send before the deadline. Every year I end up fighting the deadline again. Sigh. Baby steps ... I have the papers gathered in a file.
First thing this morning I went through a multi-step process to update my Adobe Acrobat reader, which will hopefully make it easier to download forms. Have tried several times to update that program without success; apparently I clicked the right combination of buttons this time?
I thought I had picked up a federal tax booklet at the library in January, but I can't find it. I have to return something there today so I can check to see if they still have any. They usually have plenty left over.

A.m. chicken chores done.
First child has arrived at 6:30 today.
I've kid proofed closed doors to rooms that need to be shut.
I spiffed the bed.
Time to see about other rooms the other day I did just 5 min. in each room and it made such a diff. I'm going to do that again!
Dgosn seems to be doing well with walking to and from school seems to help with the down time and de-stressing. {I suppose we could all benifit from a 20 min. walk 2 x a day!}

Hi everybody!
Kathryn we had hail a couple of hours ago. I just looked outside and there is ankle deep slush on the sidewalks and it is currently snowing. Cars are leaving tiremarks on the street, so it isn't warm enough for the slushiness to go to water if you can understand what I mean.
Mike and I were planning to go to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights, but we have canceled that plan. We aren't even going grocery shopping or anything.
Portugal and Spain have had more rain in the past 6 months than they usually get. (Along with hearing about the rather unusual weather, we also heard about the massive increase in unemployment while we were on ship excursions.)

Cathy Thanks for the weather forecast. Ds has a border run planned for tomorrow. I hope he cancels.
Last spring when we were in Spain they were talking about the multi-year drought so a wet spring should be welcome.
I'm s2s and have worked out and had breakfast and too many snacks.
Turns out I didn't take melatonin last night so I'll stop the clocks again tonight and take the pill this time!
Must go restart the clocks now.
Won't be moving the kitchen table and it doesn't just slide out of the room but must be carried out. That won't happen with 2 of us, let alone just me (dh is off now.)
Here's something to spend under 3 minutes enjoying. I'm dedicating it to all parents of young kids although it still resonates with me. It is called Ode to sleep deprived parents and terrorizing toddlers. Set to O Fortuna (one of my favourite pieces of classical music because it is so stirring.)

Hello Everybody!
Dee, it's so SAD to hear about the horse!
I had a mare and colt for a few years as a kid/teen.
Dgd is doing well, now that she's home from NICU and she's got eating down pat, too! 4 bottles of formula in 4 hours yesterday! Wow! She'll be growing like a weed!
DH goes to a luncheon today, will be gone about 3 hours or more, if the guys (retirees from the plant) get to gabbing more. Will be decluttering and doing housework, but also working on Aug./Sept. story ideas and writing pen pals, too. Need to finish up the dusting and dust mop the house, too. Why is it when he's gone, I'm so much busier????
I thought when the cat's away, the mouse played.
It's sunny here, we've been having showers, so I hope for a nice day.
I won a short story contest, I'm very happy to have placed 2nd and I loved the 1st place winner, so I'm not a sore loser. I thought her story was very entertaining, too, and it made me smile.
I loved the lead-in with time tackling and tender Thursday. I need to tackle time, like a football player
and be tender with myself, too!
I think when we're tender with ourselves, we tackle time easier, if that makes any sense. It's like when we're good to ourselves, our schedules and all we do, just magically fall into place so much easier. I don't mean to turn into a philosopher here, but it's just an idea and another way of looking at it.
Have a wonderful day!

Good point about what to tackle and who to take it easy on, Ivy.
The link to the Philharmonia is off to ds28, ddil, dd33 and dbil (father of dniece, who, they tell me, is only an angel for Aunt Harriet, lol).
Original words begin (translated) :
O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,
always increasing
or decreasing!
Cute one for which to create lyrics about toddlers.
Sad to hear that HRH's dear uncle has pneumonia. Thankfully, this uncle has 3 children, 6 or 7 grandchildren, so will not have the same needs as my dear uncle has had. Also, they believe he is "out of the woods" as far as getting the initial scare under control. I did get him a card in the mail.
Sporadic progress as my ddad is having a day of worry, unable to rest for some reason.

After almost 2 months of no services online, my friend's church got Easter and last week's service posted. They had it set to only play online, not download, but dh hacked webpage and found the page where the services were stored and we could download them as mp3s from there. Don't know what I'd do without dh. Now to ask the techie to either leave that page open (it really should not be publicly viewable) or to give me access to it. I'll do that on the 21st when I see him.
I find listening to services while I work around keeps me on task so there is a lot more counter space, table space and desktop space in the kitchen now. And the garbage and recycle bins are a bit fuller!
I made up a road plan for today last night before bed and while I'm not even half way to the end of the route, I'm at least on my way. Am having some lunch now since I'm between services (Easter was a very long service, I'm dying to ask how late my friend was getting to that church because the organist kept doing a piece, then long pause (I'm imagining he's looking around the sanctuary for a sign of the minister), then another piece.
Glad you liked the video, Harriet!
Dh is back early. Not a totally successful outing (he was shopping for supplies for the hike.) He picked up email at lunch and there's something that needs addressing so he rushed his shopping to get home.

Hello dear ladies,
After a rainy cold day yesterday, we have sunshine today.
One dson put more wood on the fire this morning while it was still cold. Of course you can't just turn off a wood fire so I have the window open while the last of the fire burns out.
I have a sore throat.

they say you can't catch cold from being out in the rain but it seems I got a sore throat from it.
So have done dishes and not pushing it too much today as it is just the beginning of my work week.
After co-worker Sharon text me about her Dad falling and breaking his hip, I called two co-workers to ask for prayer for her and her Dad. They will tell others too. We have a good prayer circle going at work. We were surprised one day when an assistant manager called all of us together and asked us to pray for a family member. We have never told management that we pray for others but somehow she knew we did. We all prayed for her sister and God healed her, it was a miracle according to doctor's.
Going to putter a bit and then head to work.
Great day to all!
