Good morning, villagers ~

Thanks for opening the thread, Lynlee. Today is my day to get back on track, too.

Did not do any work yesterday other than 3Ds. Chatted with a couple friends on FB in the morning. We needed to catch up on news. Although FB is slow, it took less time than driving into The Big City to meet for lunch during the week.

Today's plans:

1) I did get all the way through the US tax forms Friday night before bed. That was the first draft, blasting through the numbers and making sure I have all the forms according to last April's rules. Today I will go through the whole thing again more slowly to make sure I caught any changes and double-check the math.

2) Gather all the laundry and sort it. If I actually do a load, that will be a bonus.

3) Cook a big package of ground beef with some onions and put 2/3 in freezer containers. Cook a big pot of chili with the rest.

I'll leave it up to DH to decide whether or not to go out for lunch. Knowing that we're having chili for supper, he might just want a turkey sandwich and salad at home for lunch.

Good news I've "found" the table! Designated a drawer for the jewelry / beading supplies stuff so it feels great to have an assigned home! Yea!

Did a 5 min. pick up spiff in the back of the house while h. slept in, and emptied out the sink.

Fed the chickens again with morning treats and such all the hens are using the same nest box today.

Breakfast has been cooked.

I'm into that end-of-tax-season mood where I want to do everything and nothing. I started a LOL earlier - the same load of sheets that dcleaning lady ran last Monday that never got moved over to dryer. I might take a nap. Dh went to an event at temple this morning and is still out. Dd and her friend have gone out to meet a friend for lunch. Ddogs and I walked - probably Macs' hardest walk since he was sick - ddogs found either a dead snake or a snake skin or both so that was very exciting.

I am going to put laundry in dryer and nap, I think.

Since I'm on track decided to take a break for a moment.

Harriet...I resemble that "I haven't a thing to wear" comment for the exact reasons you stated. Took myself to the mall the other day...y'all know how much I hate shopping...and bought some new tops and then found a pair of summer shoes, enclosed toed, that I can wear and bought them too.

When I was leaving Friday to sub, Sweetie looked at me and said....You're wearing a shirt I've never seen before. Then when I got out of the car later that evening at our meeting place...we had a date...he saw my shoes and said...You have new shoes too. People at school made comments about my top...My reply was...you like it cause I'm not wearing black and that's usually what I wear.

Back to work...Michael McDonald is singing to me....Oh wait, now its Starship's Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now....Sweetie has been laughing at me...I have my ear plugs in and I'm dancing my way to a clean home. Later................

I'm going to try for a round of straightening up the master bedroom and bath. I think I'm going out to eat with dd and her friend before they head back to school.

A moment to breathe. Just a moment. Dh has given me 15 and then I'm to come help him.

Service went very smoothly. Terribly small turn-out but I'm used to that. The service ran very long but I knew that would happen due to the number of words in the sermon. I nailed the ending. Have no idea if that was how she wanted it delivered but when I read it, I 'heard' it that way so delivered it the way I heard it in my head - a series of statements, each a bit louder and more insistent, then a question to the congregation and dead silence. Silence is tricky to hold. My minister friend can pull it off for 30 seconds or longer. I left only 15 but it was enough to cause squirming which will cause them to remember the last words.

I got one phone call and one email after church letting me know I did a good job. So I did a good job today. We also had a visitor who seemed to fit in really well. Hope she'll come back.

Half of worship committee plus a group of other interested souls (basically almost everyone at church) met and decided the minister will not work next Sunday. Period. No discussion. She is to take time to rest and recover. I'll pull a service together from the bulletin from 3 years ago and find an online sermon or reading. I'll send the updated bulletin to the office for printing. So I'm looking at 2 - 3 hours of work, which is manageable. Barely. This is a busy week.

I have a leader to do the service for my church and am working on finding a leader for the other church. The leader for my church has never done it before but agreed if someone wrote out every word she was to say. I fully understand what she means by this and will do so, complete with three different fonts (regular voice, prayer voice, leading voice.)

The following week the minister was to be on holiday so I don't have to think about taking another service until May 5.

I emailed an update to the minister.

At 1p.m. we got back home with our friends and sat down to eat sometime after 2. The kids were good as usual and we had a lot of fun. The dishwasher just stopped running and I did up the hand dishes so the kitchen is ready for dinner to be cooked but dh and I are not hungry.

After our friends left, we went over to the church office and I found the service I'll update for next week and dh got his computer working on the network there. So he's all ready for Tuesday night when I take over our house for the board meeting.

Now he's ready for me to start work on the office purge, so I'm off to work on that for a while.

Almost as soon as I started straightening up, dd came down ready to go out to eat, and I just now got back. I had Pad Thai which was too spicy for me tonight - last night dh accidently ordered a pizza with hot pepper oil - I told them at the register to hold the hot pepper oil, but they forgot and it was too spicy to eat. (To their credit they made us a another 1/2 pizza which came home with us.) Anyway, I think the spicy pad thai reignited some taste bud burn as I usually find it pleasantly spicy.

Going to do a couple of rounds of five, I hope. Dh is watching the Masters w friends and dd gone so I have a block of time, I hope.

-empty the dishwasher
-clear kitchen table

Light rain, will try to walk ddogs a little later.

-clear kitchen "breakfast" counter
-clear and wipe kitchen counters
-ddog meds
-refill meds for the week
-make the bed

Well I'm finished for the day. I got the house done, but didn't make it to the garage. I got into a deep down cleaning mood and ended up mopping the tile and cleaning all the wooden cabinets. The garage will still be there tomorrow.

Sweetie is taking me to in and out in a moment. I like going there because they have a lettuce wrapped hamburger that I like. I have the air on and the humidifier going in our bedroom. The wind is picking up and the dust is flying. I don't know what the outside humidity is, but my guess from my eyes and nose that it's probably not more than 7%. Ahhhhh, the joys of living in the destert
