For me it's much to do Monday here! Today I was awake before the alarm. I got up with hubby, and got part of the counter cleared off so h. could prepare his lunch and I could make coffee. Got the chicken chores done this morning. It was cold out here 30* I'm SO glad I remembered to bring in the plants. At the store folks were talking about the best time to plant and not until after May around here so I guess I'll wait a bit longer.

I got the bed made one load of dishes done and ready to be unloaded plus the laundry is sorted down stairs in the laundry room the first load is going now.
Two little ones are here today now, dgson will be here after school.

Monday is the new routine day to be here for the baby from what I understand it's the new scheduled day for her mom to work. It works out great b/c dgd is here as well and they are good together.

Dinner I have a plan / chicken pot pies.

Good morning, villagers ~

We had a quiet weekend. DH was supposed to have gotten off work really early on Friday, just after noon. Instead, his boss asked him to work on a hot project and he ended up staying not just the whole day, but an extra 2 hours overtime. (He has been promised this next Friday off as comp time.) He was very happy we didn't have any plans for Saturday so he could crash.

I got an Email from DSisIL with the date for DH's family reunion picnic in June. I am going to plan it as a camping trip, although since we use tents the final choice will depend on weather. I have some fun summer plans to daydream about as we are black to gloomy storms again today.

Silver lining from so much rain: the back yard is very, very green. Happy Earth Day! Is today's google doodle interactive?

I'd better turn off the computer -- the sky is getting dark and we've had lots of trouble with power outages lately. BBL.

Booksaver While hanging out the laundry I noticed our grass is greening up too. I need to get out into the yard and start cleanup. I'm rushed for time right now so this is a real chore.

Made a bit of progress on the bookkeeping. Did step one. Now to check to see if I did it correctly. Done! (amazing how doing the job right means one doesn't have to make corrections.)

Now onto the next step - which I think is to write up a list of everything to be done.

Hello everyone. We had some rain last night. Huge clap of thunder woke me, sounded like it was right over the house about 12:30 last evening.

I must call the garbage pickup regarding the 2 pieces of computer equipment I put out that did not get picked up. Must find out what I did wrong.

Yesterday was busy. Church, then a little shopping, then I baked a big chicken and made yellow rice for pot luck missionary meeting last evening. That was very nice and I learned a lot about the goings on around the world. Eye-opening changes. Certainly not like the old days when they were just worried about head-hunters in remote islands.

Today I've been tackling OMM problems. Have been emailing, calling, faxing, to get new quotes for homeowners and car insurance that is up in a month. A couple hundred increase each year and this stuff is starting to get pricey again. Sigh..so here I go getting fresh quotes. Not my favorite job.

Talked with health ins. co. also. Stuff I don't understand is more than suff I do understand. It appears DH will be doing the mail-order prescription thing if he ever needs anything. After reading all of Dee's problems, I am more than a little apprehensive.

Field trip was only a couple hours. The more I observe the teachers for next year, the higher my concern meter is rising. I observed (and took pictures documenting) them huddled in group together talking and using their phones with their backs to the children for over an hour. What am I going to do? I know I can go complain to the principal, supertendent, school board, etc. However, complaining won't make them into better teachers and could very well back fire onto LO. I can put LO into a different school, but how do I know those teachers are any better? >>>>grumble...grumble....<<<< Maybe I should just lower my expectations and accept whatever teacher LO gets next year?

Well, what you CAN do is nominate LO's current teacher for any appreciation moments, and send written compliments to administration about her. It would be appropriate to say, "She seems to be the most attentive...", although you might not want to say, "She is more attentive than...".

All three loads of laundry are put away. I found the tomatoes a sheltered but sunny spot for the day. Made that call to dcousin! Have been cleaning in laundry area and kitchen (they are hard to separate).

When I pick dd up from school, we'll stop off for some healthy-ish meal or another on the way to appt, then I need to make that run to pharmacy 2 that was neglected Friday. Happily, HRH is doing groceries on his way home.

Harmony, how true. I was saddened by the 7.8 earthquake natural disaster response in Pakistan last week, which could have been so much better orchestrated if that government had not chased our denomination's medical teams out of their own hospitals and offices there. So willing to help, with education and experience at the ready, buildings completed and expenses paid from back home, but so unwanted. The yellow rice and chicken sounds delish.

Wise folks usually say May 1 here, Nancy, and you know how close our two planting zones are.

I'm drinking tea, trying to wake up. I'm SO sleepy. Dfriend was here until almost 1:30. Her 2 little ones, ages 18 months and 6 months, are really sweet, happy, well-behaved little ones. She is ethnically Chinese from Malaysia, so it was very interesting to chat with her. Her dh is a Michigander.

((OK)), if you can request a teacher for your child (we could at our elem school, though we were never guaranteed that request), you might also chat with LO's current teacher as well as parents who have had kids in these teachers' classrooms to see what they have to say about them. What are their reputations? What do parents like/not like about them? (If you do talk to parents, make sure you take into account what the other parents are looking for. I discovered when my kids were in elem. school that some parents' idea of a "good teacher" was a slight mismatch to mine, being based on what their kids needed which was different from what my kids needed.) Maybe one in particular stands out - either for better or worse. Also, maybe you could observe them in the classrooms. I agree their lack of attentiveness to the kids on the playground is concerning, but maybe they are different in the classrooms. I am saying hopefully. .. . . Although, this all involves more time and energy on your part, probably not what you're looking for right now.

at my desk today. Notice I'm not saying "at work." I've at least cleared most the desktop and taken care of some documentation laying around. I am leaving some personal stuff at my desk with the explanation being that I might work next tax season, at least part time. The way I feel right now there's not a chance in h - e - double toothpicks but they keep encouraging me not to decide right now. So we're telling clients that I am taking a sabbatical for now.

Need to load up some stuff now....

I'm back from round #2 washer twins have been reloaded. Lunch is over here. I've "found" the counters, dumped trash, and worked on the clutter on the dining table so it feels great to get that much done.
