Lectures are over for today. This morning's worship was good, the lectures were only so-so (one of them deliberately put a misleading title and I would not have gone but thought she was finally talking about something different from that last two times I've seen her.)

Lunch was poor.

After lunch lecture was perfect. I took 5 pages of notes. The lecture after that was very good and I took 1.5 pages of notes.

Get a chance to rest, check email and then early dinner before tonight's worship and then a 'dialog' between two theologians.

I am about to head out to pick up DD11.

harriet: LOVE LOVE LOVE Levity. I will try to convince DD of that one. She suggested Daisy and Ryoki Jr. Daisy implies a white cat to me with yellow eyes (describes dFosterCat10) and Ryoki was my 18 yo cat who was the queen of the house. This kitten is not very promising as a queen. Gravity is very promising as a king though.

Posting after exercise.

Oh, I'm glad, Elizabeth, lol! Although Daisy is a good pet name, too.

I also got some flowers planted today. (Had gotten my tomato-gift planted yesterday.)

The guys got so much work done. The dumpster is 3/4 full. They found a few modest treasures.

I managed errands of pharmacy 1, and picking up supplies for the guys. Pharmacy 3 has to wait until tomorrow.

Ordered stamps online. Love the new Vintage Seed-Packet stamps and the Florida floral stamps. Was at the PO the other day and they literally had NO stamps to offer me except the most boring EVER. So this order was a MUST!

I had some more online ordering that was needful, but I'm really too wiped out to think well tonight and will put that off. Will have it on my 5x5 tomorrow.

Great evening. Both the worship this evening and the event with Walter Brueggemann were wonderful. I'm in love with Walter. He's 80 and so full of life and fun and wisdom, I could listen to him for hours.

Now to get to work on the church service. I need to send the final copy tomorrow morning. I may skip one lecture tomorrow to come back and work on my sermon if I'm inspired by then. Or just spend some quiet time in reflection on the text.

Presbytery met tonight and because our pastor is ill, they have postponed her call to the other church which means our process to move forward is stalled, I believe until the fall. Sigh...

(Bulletin is finished and sent to the secretary and musician. I'm feeling competent at this moment.)

Haha, HARRIET, you caught me!

I am recovering from emergency gallbladder surgery, which I had on Mother's Day. So now that I can't drive for a week or do any lifting, I have more time to check up on all of you here! So nice to read up on everyone's activities.

Love the pictures of KATHRYN's trip and LUCYLEE's description of her father's funeral. BTW, my DM left my DH out of my DF's obituary on purpose. I never mentioned it, but later she tried to blame it on the man at the funeral home. She was angry at the time that DH did not spend more money when buying them a house to live in. She finally moved out of that house 12 years later...what a relief that was for us!

Ellyphant Glad we can keep you company while you recover. Wishing you lots of healing rest. I will try not to tell too many jokes because I'm sure laughing is uncomfortable.

Hello.
Oooh, I hope helia is feeling better and Ellyphant recovers quickly. Hugs for (Dee).

Sauces are the worst. Pizza sauce bad. Alfredo sauce also bad. I do ok with spaghetti sauce, maybe it's the noodles that absorb the acid?

Seems like today was a long one. Let's see what I can remember....

Got another LOL washed and hung up. Still needs put away. I think I let a lizzard in when I was bringing in the laundry, DH scurried around the house trapping it. Got 3 cards written and sent. Cleaned out the email box. Paid bills. Rested my knee on a pillow for a couple hours. Wish I could say it was getting better.

Sent a couple faxes for DH's job tomorrow and made his lunch. Watered the garden. Did 2 statements and 1 proposal for DH. I guess I did get a lot accomplished after all!

Too tired and too busy to post much...Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Corrected obit ran in today's paper. Maybe the busy-bodies, "everybody noticed it" people at her church who were so rude as to ASK dsgm about it, according to her -- maybe they also get the paper on Tuesdays and saw the correction.

Corrected version will run in local weekly paper tomorrow.
At a cost of $92. (Not for correction, but for inclusion of spouses of ddad's brother/sister/me/dgs)

I still feel like crud. Throat is KILLING me. NOT a good idea to spend TH/FRI outdoors, but that's life for now, as helia said. Throat is much worse after lying down. I think it is all sinus drainage, and standing in front of all those flowers and plants for 3 hours yesterday probably did not help.

I'm sorry this is all me/me/me lately.

Friend at school helped me see one reason I am taking this so well. Ddad had been in Houston for almost 5 months. I had gotten used to NOT seeing him. Somewhere in my head, I must still think he's just in Houston. I know he's not, of course, but it doesn't seem like he's "GONE" b/c he's BEEN gone for 5 months. We've talked on the phone almost daily, but I haven't seen him and I haven't "missed" him. It doesn't really seem REAL except when I'm where he's SUPPOSED to be. In church last Sunday w/the rest of us. Sitting in his chair when we go out to dmom's. Helping celebrate dgs's 1st birthday. That's going to be tough. Dcousin's graduation party next week. When dmom is there w/out him... then it's going to start sinking in.

I must start writing thank you notes. Newspaper staff kids gave me a beautiful afghan last Friday. Then today, during awards day, they presented me with a beautiful plaque and some flowers, plus a $25 gift card to local steak house. They are amazing.

We are now in Western IL after a 9 hour train ride - 5 hours of it w/o AC. Can we say hot and sticky.

We are at the motel with AC, TV, Fridge, MW, Coffee Pot and free WiFi. What more can we want?

TTFN - time to catch some shut eye.
