Went to the farmer's market with dfriend. Now, I'm on puppy duty; Maia already had one accident while I was trying to read an email. . SO, I'm stuck in the kitchen, trying to think of what I can do in here. What I really need to do is get out for a jog. I think I'll wait until dd17 gets home. If I do that, I need to get dinner started before I leave; dd17 gets home about 4 pm, and we need to eat at 5:20 pm. Not much time to cook after a jog if I leave at 4:00 pm. . . . What I really want to do is take a nap. Nope, can't happen. . . .

I'm going to finish cleaning up the kitchen and then get the tomato sauce for tonight cooked up. Maybe I can get the salad made too. I'll do the pasta last minute; can't cook that ahead of time if I want to have it the right firmness and fresh. . Dh is particular about pasta, really does not like pasta that is softer than al dente. . . .

Thanks, HELIA and HARRIET. Yep, improving every day. I even walked to the mailbox today and was rewarded with a nice card someone sent.

SADIE, I have seen holding places for coffins dug out of the side of a hill in old cemeteries in New England. Those were used during times when the ground was frozen long ago, I learned.

Hi everyone! I got the tasks done yesterday that I needed. The newest foster kitten (Gravity's sister) is now formally named Levity (thanks harriet for that wonderful suggestion). I actually got her to purr at me last night, but she is still hiding behind books in the bookshelf. Tonight at 5:00 she is going to be tested for FIV and feline leukemia. She will probably pass, because her brother did. Then I will be able to get them back together and he can teach her that people are not predators. At 7:00, DD11 has a Dragon Singers performance that I will go to. Unfortunately, both these events mean I will miss Bible study for the 3rd week in a row. There is only one more week left.

ellyphant: I hope you recover soonest. BTDT with the GB surgery, not fun. Don't do too much too fast, I know from experience that is a bad idea!

Interesting day. Unbelievable start of the day, so powerful that the rest of the day has been a letdown. Although I'm quoting lots from the third even so it had an impression despite still being under the glow of the first two. Lunch was awful again so I'll skip it tomorrow and go to Subway.

The afternoon worship sermon was so poor I blew off the lecture after. Which is saying a lot because he's one of my favourites. I spent a day with him 18 months ago and I think a smaller group, interactive is a better venue for him. Although he might have hit his stride this afternoon and I missed it.

Came back and took dh for a walk. He's feeling up&down poorly. Bad congestion.

Now I'll rest for 20 minutes, soaking my feet. Today's the first day in my walking sandals this season and I got blisters. They'll be wonderful as my feet toughen up so I'll bandaids on them after I soak. Had to stop while walking with dh and slip tissues in to protect my feet (it worked perfectly and I was thankful for that since I had opted to take my mini purse and my bandaids were in my big purse.)

Never made it to tonight's story telling lecture. Well, I got there, but despite checking earlier that I didn't have to come to worship in order to get a seat for the later lecture, the place was packed (people on the floor, in the choir loft, sitting on the window sills, standing against the walls) and not enough people left after for me to get a seat. So I came back home.

Then internet went out here (problem was me) and so I'm now waiting for replies to emails that I sent late.

Slowly, a sermon is working its way into my head.

Waving from a wintery drizzly day this Thursday. Our weather patterns have already changed into their winter highs and lows. Snow in the south on the alps. Mind you a normal winters day here is warm and sunny, nights are cool to sometimes a morning frost. So its not that wintery yet.

I got out my new leather shoes bought an age ago to water proof, then was struck by a need to polish them and get back the new buff look. Spilt liquid shoe black on my cardigan, jeans, socks, aqua fabric shoes. Sponged as best I could and soaked, now the washables are having a spin. fingers crossed it all comes out.

Pdoc locum this am. By the time we cover story it will be time for regular pdoc to come back. Maybe the telling helps.

Support group this afternoon. I just had my seed cereal and yoghurt. There was no time for anything except a quick smoothy of apple and mango juice / goat milk before pdoc. I need to keep moving. washing should be ready for under veranda drying stands.

Waving to all.
Elly - hope you heal quickly.
Dee - hope all goes smoothly for your going north plans.

Elly, hope each day finds you better and better. I'll wave as we pass through the area where you (maybe) are. Glad you're able to post with us in the meantime.

DD finished packing things into the car. Have a few things to put in -in the morning. She wanted to take a big pot of daisies she got from the Parent's Org at school this week. Wants dh to plant them on our berm. I'm planning to take her to school about 6:45, go to the grocery store for some Sweet Onion chips for ddil#1, some soda for dd (if I can find it in bottles), take few shirts to gd's old school (uniform shirts that she won't use), go to church. The pastor should be there about 9 and I have a few things to do before he gets there. Hoping it won't take us too long. Going to see dsisl/dbil for an hour or so after. Then I'm coming home and finish packing the car. Have a hair cut at 3 (taking a load to Goodwill then -it's right across the street). From there I'm going to pick dd up at her school and we're heading north probably 4:15-4:30.Also have to strip my bed and do a small load of laundry before we head out in the morning. Going to be splish splash day I think. Will try to remake the bed sometime before I leave in the afternoon. Ok, I'm out of breath now! ;)

Oh great, tonight I find out that our kids/grandkids are all planning a get-together Saturday night at the campground. Dh and I already have plans to go to the 200 Club at the Fire Hall. There's dinner and then all sorts of door prizes ending with $$ drawings up to $1,000. Think you have to be there -we'll see. No wonder ddil asked me when I thought we'd be home.

Saying good-night. Hope to get here sometime tomorrow before packing the computer. Car is still full even though there's much less than other years. Of course it's not piled as high I guess.

Save drive, Dee!

We'll be on the road at the same time and pretty much the same latitude but I suspect we are taking different highways north. We might be on the same highway from Cleveland onwards but that's the only time I can see any possibility of overlap.

Dh is back from the Kristoffersen concert. He had a wonderful time and heard all of the good old stuff. Dh is thrilled.

Oh no, Lynlee! That will someday be a funny spill story, but not today! hugs!

Kathryn, I do hope dh begins feeling better soon! Actually, dd had some (school) questions for him she was considering emailing. Ouch for blisters, too.

So glad to hear Levity is communicating a little, Elizabeth. Good for you.

Hope you are feeling better, helia.

Two more tomato plants are in their permanent places for the summer, but I must say container gardening is not too confident for me, even though these really are nice large containers. I look at these and can't think of a single gardening ancestor who would approve! I believe they would all look incredulously at me and ask what I was doing. Marigolds tomorrow and then I'm finished planting.
