Making progress.

There was no mail at the general store so it must all be in ds's car. Sigh.... He's working overnight and hasn't shown up here yet, so we're guessing he's sleeping the day away in the city at a friend's place (maybe dfs' home.) The pictures of dfs' wedding are showing up on facebook. He looks very happy. And ds looks very handsome (he was the best man.)

I'm slowly putting the kitchen to rights. Most of the mess was mine from last night but some is ds'. I'll open a cupboard and it seems overfull so I'm guessing ds integrated his food with mine. There are a few bags of groceries in the front hall that are his. I'll take them to the pantry in the basement. The front hall also has a pile of stuff that is mine. Dh complained about ds leaving stuff around, but I do the same thing.

The lights are on for the 2 fish tanks, so now I can turn on lights in the living room and do some more filing.

I just shredded another shredder-catcher full of stuff. Did you know that when you shred a CD/DVD, they become powdered? Old credit cards become hard plastic curly bits.

One hour solid nap plus 30 minutes to drag myself out of bed. Still feel exhausted but that is to be expected.

Last night at 2:30 I woke up having to go to the bathroom. I lay there with my eyes closed, trying to remember where the bathroom was in the hotel room. Then trying to remember what hotel chain I was at (looking for a clue), then what city. I finally opened my eyes and that didn't help much until I tried to sit up and hit the mosquito netting and realized I was home. I'm glad I'm home for bit. I don't envy dh having to fly out tomorrow.

Oh Kathryn - how I know that feeling. For us it is which kid's house? Of course, we did stay in a motel earlier this week as I didn't need to stay with 5 kids, 2 dogs, cat, 2 frogs and 4 lizards.

All is quiet here as DDIL and DGD#6 are still at the Ice Show and DS and DH are taking stuff to GoodWill.

I just finished my blog - this time it is 3 pages on Word vs the 1 to 1 1/2 I usually do. Not many pictures, however. DGD #1 -5 don't like their pictures taken so I don't even try any more. Got a few of DGD#6 and DD#2's furkids.

Tomorrow everyone is going to work and school and we get a car. Going to do a bit of exploring, I think. I want to check out some things for the new bathroom and this HD is a lot closer than the one in Phoenix.

Clothes dryer just buzzed so I'm going to fold our little laundry. I just needed a few things freshened up but tried to find everything that needed doing.

Back from town. Glad I went to WW meeting. I learn so much in a short time.

LO birthday party things are gathered. 32 dinosaur decorated birthday cupcakes, napkins and balloons are ready to take to school tomorrow. LO is one little happy & excited boy. :)

The streets were deserted. I guess people are staying home and hiding from the weather. We busted our all time heat record for this date - 101 degrees. There is a F4 tornado current on the ground. (about 70 miles away).

I thought I saved a post that I had started but can't find it.

I have read todays posts but need to cuop for yesterday.

Dd1 did a great job on all the side dishes, decorations, etc for dgs19s graduation celebration. Dgs graduated with High Honors. They ended up having it in the gym and he had 6 tickets, so his parents, dsis, my dm, dh and I sat in the gym. Dd2, dgd16 and my dsisil was able to view it on screen from the auditorium in comfy seats. After it was over we went back to dd1s and ate a late supper.

Dsonil was at home with the 4 kids. He called dd2 and told her wanted to take all of us out to brunch today. Dd1 and her family decided not to go because they were greeters this week and dh wanted to start cleaning his motorcycle. So it was dd2s family of 7, dgd16s boyfriend, dm, dsisil and I. It was a really nice buffet. Afterwards dd2 had to go open the shop. Dm, dsisil and I came home. Dd1 and dgs19 came over to visit and tell them bye. They left about 1:30. I am really nervous because they were driving towards an elevated risk of tornadoes. The National Weather Service has/had storm chasers between here and there.

Dd2 wanted to take the 4 kids to the zoo, so the 5 of them, dgs19 and I went to the zoo about 2:30. It is very low 80's and a wonderful afternoon to go to the zoo.

I am going over to dd1s later to eat supper. Dh will either go or I will bring him a plate home.

Dd1s dmil came to the party, but didn't go to the graduation. It would have just been too far for her to walk plus all the stair climbing. She is really sweet but her health is declining.

I don't know if I have ever mentioned this but both of my dds dmils are older than their grandma, (my dm.)

Well I better go for now but wanted to check in.

I looked after both fish tanks. Scraped the glass clean with the magnetic scraper, raked the sand, topped up the water and then fed the fish their frozen snack. Giving them their frozen snack makes up for bugging them while I did the weekly clean up. Mike does it every Sunday, so I gave it my best shot. I don't know how to check the salinity level, so I used one bottle of salt water per tank. I will put aside a jug of tap water tonight to bring it to room temperature and then top up the tanks with plain water tomorrow night.

The 2013 stuff from my desk top has all be filed into the baskets and the garbage-y paper has been tossed. Now I get to shred some more.

Oh, I also put the burners back onto the stove top and tested each one to make sure I had put them back properly. Only 1 started to smoke, so I will take it off when it cools down to see if there is a reason it's smoky.

The stove looks new inside and out. :D

OKay stay safe and cool.

I'm slowing down on productivity. Dh hung up the laundry for me. We started dinner together. Unloaded the dishwasher and then at dinner. After dinner, I loaded up a purse. I went to go back to the small purse while waiting to repair the strap on the bigger purse (that can hold a water bottle.) It was tough to get everything into the small purse, in fact, my smart phone isn't in it yet.

Went over the medicine kit and put back the stuff I'd left out by accident when I went on the trip. No idea what I was thinking but found both small zip lock bags, one with tummy stuff, one with allergy, in the medicine cabinet.

Dh is almost done packing. He still needs the arm sleeves from ds. If ds can't find his, then we'll have to go shopping in the tourist area of town tomorrow. That's the only area where stores are allowed to be open (it is a stat holiday.)

Cathy: I'm having trouble picturing what is smoking. It is stuff on the pan underneath or just cleaning solution that needs to burn off the element. In that case, put the element on high, open a window, turn on a fan (remove the battery from the smoke detector if you can) and let it burn off.

Just coming in to say hello and let everyone know I made it home (safe but not sound). Actually my car is sitting at a dealer in Hagerstown, MD. Had to rent a car (ended up giving me a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan). Took us forever to get home yesterday. Dodge dealer is to call us tomorrow to let us know what the 'damage' to our wallet will be. Seems the catalytic converter plugged up and gave us all sorts of problems. Ended up, when we took it in, it was all but burning. Feel extremely fortunate that all was saved and we as well. Had things so organized in our van (you would have been proud). DD and I just threw everything into the new van (helter skelter  ) Got home little after 7 last night. Went up to ddil/ds-R's. EVERYONE was there for us. Even ddil's sister & her mom. It was so nice.
So it was a long, stressful, busy day. Then last night when we all had eaten and were all gathered together dh announced that he will be having open heart on May 30th. He went for his cardiology appointment over 2 weeks ago. Dr said having his aortic valve replaced is no longer a choice. It's imperative -opening has closed quite a bit since last year. They also are holding the option of doing some by-pass(es). He has 10 stents and some of those may well be replaced by pass surgery. DD is bummed that she won't be able to be here. Boys are a bit shocked, but I think I was somewhat expecting it before long. Think I almost had a feeling when I asked how his appointment went and his answer was "okay". Dr wanted him to have it done just a couple of days after his ultrasound early this month. But he didn't want me trying to get home and he knew I would. So he won't be working this summer.

I'm doing okay but know I will be worried when it comes right down to it.

I've been puttering at putting away stuff -but have a lot to do to get our 'home' ship-shape. I'm very tired. Have to go back to Haggerstown probably Tues or so to get our van. We explored the option of bringing it back on a trailer and having it fixed here. DD flies back to FL on Tuesday afternoon. So we'll have to work all things out.

Have to cuop but know I can't do it tonight. dh and I are heading to bed. He says that's the one difference he has noticed with the narrowing of the opening in his valve. He's extremely fatigued and going to bed quite early. He's been training someone to take his place. Know he'll hate not working but should be able to collect disability at least for a while.

I'm trusting Kathryn got home ok. Will look tomorrow. Love to you all!

We were supposed to 'walk' in a fund-raiser as a memorial to our DZoe on June 1st. Obviously that is not going to happen. But at least we have the t-shirts (with a drawing that's so cute of a little girl w/angel wings & "Team Zoe"). This is all for the Children's Hospital in our city.

BB tomorrow. Blessings>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
