Yes, ((Dee and DH)) and glad OKay is safe this morning.

Bookie, we also saw Ironman 3 yesterday and enjoyed it immensely.

This morning hasn't gone according to plan. Today is ds' first day of his summer internship and he was antsy about where to go and what to do as he missed the orientation last week while away. So he and dh were a bundle of nerves about it - I ended up driving him to the place where he needed to check in with HR people and went to Starbucks while that happened, then they directed him to go to the engineering building several miles away. I dropped him there and will pick him up this afternoon and we'll go over the directions for driving there for tomorrow. He's a very timid, anxious driver.

Dd is going to temple today to learn to play Mah Jong with the group that plays on Monday. I told her to keep her ears open for gossip. I'm going to drop her there and she will go home with adult friend P, and P & D will also discuss the speeding ticket with her also.

I've made two needed phone calls along the way - cancelled and rescheduled ds' dental appt and scheduled a dr appt for dd for her foot which has been hurting for several weeks. Need to check OMM list and get moving again.

Good to see several CI this morning. Group (((((Hugs)))) and AttaGirls!!

LO has been delivered to school. I made the rounds (to all 4 of the school buildings) in search of the lady who receives the lunch money. She is one busy lady this morning. :) I wanted to verify the LO lunches were paid up. I send a check at the beginning of each month, but due to cancellation of a couple field trips this month I thought he might owe some. Sure nuf. He was $4.80 short. Got that taken care of so he is out of hock. Lunch Lady (who I grew up with and have know ALL my life) laughed when I told her why I had tracked her down. She said "I wasn't a bit worried - I know where you live". :D

Visited with LO speech teacher. She gave me some suggestions of things to do with LO this summer. She had very good things to say about LO progress.....and how well behaved he is. That was so good to hear.

Make arraignments with LO teacher to deliver the LO Birthday balloons and cupcakes after their afternoon nap. I didn't realize balloons weren't allowed in school. However, she said I could bring them in right before the party and then remove them afterwards and it would be fine.

We had the local TV news on this morning but after a few minutes I turned it off. Just too overwhelming to watch. They are predicting today will be a repeat of yesterday tornadoes...***VBSigh***

((((Helia and friends)))))

I'm just overwhelmed. Last Wednesday a freak vehicle accident happened. The sweetest most kindhearted caring former teacher in the world was driving her van and accidently clipped the back of a 1-Ton feed truck driven by a life-time local rancher known to everyone. The bump was enough to off center & flip the feed truck and killing him instantly. Two families devastated along with a community of life time friends. They buried him on Saturday. After the funeral, one of the sons left to go on a motorcycle trip (20 states & Canada) that had been planned for months. He was 1.5 days behind the motorcycle group.....trying to catch up....tired...stressed. He had an accident on his motorcycle and was killed. Within 24 hours this family buried the monarch of the family and lost a son. I can't stop thinking about them.

The son that was killed and I were about the same age. We have "butted heads" a few times over the years, but not in a mean way. We would get mad and happy with each other in the same conversation. :) He was an all-in get-er-done guy in everything he did. He owned several local businesses so we were always running into each other in a normal daily doings. We talked and laughed together this past week. And now he is gone. And now his wife, who buried her father on Saturday, is planning his funeral. Un-real. Life can turn upside down in an instant.

My car is a 2007 T own & C ountry, Cathy. The rental I just L O V E, but just can't afford a new car right now, especially since dh won't be working the rest of the summer (at least). Just called our insurance company & they're researching putting in a claim for trip interruption. If no luck there, will try our G ood S am's Roadside Assistance. Will have the trip back with the rental, hotel, etc. Know they won't cover repairs on the car. Probably should have just had it towed and I probably would have been better off. But if it ends up costing us less than a $1,000 (sort of) then guess we're pretty fortunate. We could have been facing a total loss -the car would probably be okay, but not all its contents.

Wish this 'jittery' feeling would go away. I'm sure part is just pure exhaustion and partly nerves.

I have accomplished zero in here so far today and probably won't get a whole lot done until we get back from MD. Having a big "bird problem" on our deck!!! Dh realized they've been roosting on top of our deck fridge. Ewwww! Keep seeing them fly into our windows (and we have a LOT!) DGD13 told dh she'd come help me do windows. Help? No, I really want her and possibly our GD18 to do them. Know I can't. Our dining, living room windows are huge and plenty. Then we have a hallway, 2 in our bedroom and a sliding patio door.

1 thing at a time, 1 thing at a time -keep reminding myself! Everything in here is so dusty! Dh has done ok but had no time (or energy) to do any extra cleaning. Things are just the way I left them when we closed up last fall. He at least has kept up with dishes and laundry. 2 of the big D's!

Beginning to slowly feel better. Drinking Mt D ew. Maybe I just needed more caffeine!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Done breakfast. Was reading the lectionary readings for next week and realized I'd need more help interpreting. Went to get my bible commentary and was reminded there are 2 in the series I don't have, the ones that cover from this upcoming week to Advent. They have now been ordered but won't come in time to help me this week. Will run over to the church and see what the minister has in her library.

I have a very busy day tomorrow. Just realized that.

Have a headache today so just took something and will now try and get moving around a bit to distract me. Ds is still asleep (he got home around midnight last night after working an evening shift the day after the wedding. He works another evening shift tonight so I guess I should wake him soon so he can visit a bit with dh before leaving for work.

48 cupcakes baked and cooling. Kitchen currently is on cupcake overload with 80 scattered around. There are 3 different sizes of cupcakes (giant, regular and mini). 32 are in refrigerator (so icing won't melt), and others cooling on the counter top.

Keeping my head in the game. Just do the next card.......

Hello Dear Ladies,

Watching for round two of the weather to start.

Thankfully we were spared of any damage or destruction in our little corner of the world.

Dson25 flew out to NC for another vacation this year. Hope your weather is nice there Harriet. Hope he doesn't bring ours with him.

Laundry day today.

Back home again. I feel like I've already done a whole day's work. Visited with temple secretary and got caught up on news, and also talked to our handyman about doing some work (mostly hanging heavy pictures) when he has time.

Now....I forgot to post this earlier when I got home.

My poor dMacs has been OMM - he is really having difficulties with his walks and seems so weak. I feel like I just had an epiphany, I checked in with the Canine Physical Therapist who worked with him after his surgery and she is going to evaluate him later this week. I am really worried that his back legs will fail him altogether.

And in another OMM category I knew I had an appointment this month with the sleep center to evaluate whether the dental appliance is helping the sleep apnea, and oy vey found a message on our answering machine just now that the appointment was this morning. Obviously, we hadn't checked it since we got home on Friday. :?

I am going to try to work a few rounds.....still haven't finished a.m. routine and have barely looked at the li&t in my planner for today.

-Start a load of delicates in washer
-put away the sheets and towels that go upstairs (that I folded yesterday)
-finish kitchen table clean up by taking dd's clothes upstairs (this is stuff she left in the dryer when we left for vacation...)
-call about property tax for my dsis' house, write a check and mail
-download the online temple bank statement and email to bookkeeper

Lunch cooked/served. I am loving asparagus season. About every other day I'm picking enough to fill cast iron skillet with assortment of vegetables. With a drizzle of olive oil and grilled over a high heat, the vegetable flavors meld together and become extremely tasty. And to make it even better..... I can eat the whole skillet of grilled vegetables for only 2 WW points. :D

LO has a TBall game scheduled for this evening. I think he only has 2 more games this season plus the final tournament. I need to decide on his summer activities and get him signed up for those. I know the local library children program for sure - maybe another library summer program on base too. Swimming lessons for sure. Not sure about others yet.

30 minutes until I need to walk out the door for LO birthday party. HUmmmmm......what is highest priority? Where can I direct my focus for the biggest pay-off in 30 minutes?
