No signature line for me. It is all I can do to remember to update my location!

One more day without word from dh. Tomorrow will be rougher because he probably won't write first thing in the day. We'll see. You'll know shortly after I know.

An email has gone through the neighbourhood. Funds are being raised to send the postmistress (inoperable liver tumour) and her family away on one last trip. It makes me sick to think about how things have turned out for them. They put the general store up for sale 11 years ago but had no takers.

The lawn is being finished now so it is very noisy. They mowed for an hour and then disappears and I, naively, thought they were getting quicker. The back is mowed, the front is untouched and the trimming is being done now. Not sure what is up, probably equipment issues. Must tell them to trim around the front lamp and tree where the bulbs were.

Dd1 and I have walked. I then went and picked up Mc Donalds hotcakes. I am going to mow, so with the walk and mowing I can eat them guilt free. Guess I better get to mowing.

Didn't get a grocery list made last night, so will need to do that before I hit the store.

Waving to every one wishing you all a great week.

Dgson might have one spelling test left this year I'm not sure, this is the fun part of school they are not doing much actual work, moving desks putting away books cleaning class rooms moving classes to diff. places musical rooms track & field day B.B.Q. day until a week from Thurs. seems to be about a week and half of playing so they can get ready for the fall season. Report cards for grads etc. happening as well too.

Granny duty does not begin for a while here today so I can go out and do another round of yd. work before she arrives. dgson will be with us during the week the rest of the week and dgd will be here during the weekend if things go as planned.

Trash day here x
Bed is made
I've had breakfast and coffee.
Journal & q.t. x

We had a quiet and damp memorial day weekend it was cool and we were able to grill last night after it rained but I did not get the lawn mowed and it's still too wet for that here.

H. is going to pick up chicken feed for me today as we spaced that off this weekend.

Happy Birthday, helia's dd15! Good job on the running and keeping the resume updated.

Nancy, sometimes at the end of the year teachers will give away partially used workbooks, etc. that help keep up-to-speed through summer for next year's work. (Whoops - your dgs would probably wish you did not have a friend suggesting such a thing!!! )

Have done 30 minutes of exercise and happy I got the chance. May get to the next 30 sometime, which would give me the total workout I'd like today. If not, that's okay. Finishing my second pint of water and all I've eaten is a pear, so you'd think I was watching calories today but I'm not.

A second load of laundry in.

I'm listening for a phone call from HRH. He had asked me if there was anything we needed, and I did mention a few things, forgetting that he had actually intended to visit his ddad midday, not pick up anything for our house. I'm hoping nothing I said causes him to cut their visit short. I know that he always feels he shouldn't do much "on the way home" because I'm here by myself until he's back. No word from dd14, so either her bite(s?) aren't bothering her or she can't access her email anyway.

Just got off the phone with the bank about our home loan. In March I received notice that the payment would be going up May 1. OK I expected that. On the 21st a gal called and said they had not taken out enough, what did I want to do? I told her to take that amount out of our checking acct. She said OK I'll send you a receipt. The next day I received something from them and put it with some bills that needed to be paid. Over the weekend I looked at it and it was dated May 17, saying no payment had been made and we would be turned over to a collection agency. I could see by looking on line, that they had taken out the original amount on the 1st and the difference on May 21. This guy said that I was paid up except for the $25.00 late fee. I told him I don't feel like I owe that since it is automatically deducted. So then he said well it wasn't paid by the 15th, so you owe it. Then he told me unless I authorized the change to the new amount, I would be dealing with the same thing next month. Are they kidding me? Since they come up with the figure, then take it out, don't set me up to be screwed over and threatened with a collection agency. So I told him to take that $25.00 out of my checking right now, because I did not intend to be turned into a collection agency over a lousy $25. Needless to say I "authorized" them to take out the new amount. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Now I need to get a shower, lunch, make out grocery list and go to the grocery store. I will be watching dgd3 while dd2 takes dgd2 to the dr. later this afternoon.

I hope you'll eat some more today, harriet.

That sounds annoying, Lilac. Sounds too quick to call a collection agency.

Puppy is fussy and I don't know why. I think it is b/c both Pepper and I are out of her cordoned off area.

I've had lunch. Breadmaker is going, brisket has been prepped and is cooking in the oven now. I forgot that I want to register Maia for puppy kindergarten; need to get that in the mail before dfriend arrives. Have made progress on arranging get togethers with dfriends in TX for our trip next week. Have made progress communicating with the other band uniform parent re: marching uniform tagging and pulling reserved sets for the kids for the fall.

Before 2:
- finish a.m. routine
- registration for Maia in the mail
- baked potatoes prepped and in the oven.

what a lot of time I can waste procrastinating on that!
Find I do the exact same thing with the church council minutes every month, Twins! Right now I know I should get them done for June's meeting -not knowing what the days ahead will bring while dh is in the hospital and after he leaves. My time may well be taken up with rehab, etc. and I won't 'feel' like doing them until I'm pushed to the last minute. So -it's today or tomorrow.

Waiting for dh to come for lunch. Neighbor brought us over some yummy potato salad (really different), a little macaroni salad & ddil gave me 2 ears of corn that just need to be nuked. For dinner we'll have the rest of the chicken parm another 'cook' gave us over the weekend. Had half last night -yum! He loves to cook and he's good at it. His poor wife has to shudder at his grocery bill though.

I've been puttering all morning and things are looking pretty good to me right now. Mostly worked in the bathroom & got everything put away in there. Still need to spiff the shelf underneath the medicine cabinet & around the sink.

Now, dh never saw any sign of the little 4-legged creatures all spring. While I was getting dressed I 'thought' I could hear a squeak. So dh checked the items in the bottom of the linen closet. 3 of them - "nope" says he. I say, "What's that thing hanging down in the 1 -hmmmm.....that would be a tail. Nice thing about these is you can't see anything but that. I'll have to get DS-R to put some steel wool underneath where that pipe comes into the RV. That is the first in about a year & a half though. I refuse to share my living space! And that seems to be the only space they get in.

Dh couldn't figure out why the furnace wouldn't 'fire'. Seems that both our tanks were empty -that's never happened to us before. Good reason I guess. Now I'm filled up again. Hopefully won't need it much before fall.

It's stopped raining so I'm sure dh is making hay. Think I'll go ahead and eat. I've waited as long as I can.

I agree, Helia! Think I'd be calling somebody else at the bank and not paying that $25. I know.....doing somebody else's job. :x
