Waving to all! Today car is gone h. took it to work his truck is in the shop so I"m here fiddling with the PC trying to get a book title to upload to a good reads page ~sigh~ without much success I might add.

I've peeled sliced and cooked carrots added to the chicken broth for soup chopped and added some mushrooms too.

Every one has a summer cold it seems h. has been fighting it, the baby is stuffy, and I"m fighting a sinus thing as well. Okay off to push the stroller and take a walk before it's too hot.

ex. some done walked a med. walk.
Snack time is over.
The baby napped for a bit.

Good Morning. Dh is off to dr. office for INR check, so I'm here in the village with you gals. Sometimes I go with him when we have other errands to do, but he says he doesn't need anyone to hold his hand while they poke his finger for a drop of blood!

It is sunny out today, 82* atm; the air smells fresh and clean as always after a cleansing rain. I did hear that there was a waterspout and tornadoes here in our county as well as neighboring counties yesterday. I hope everyone is safe where the storm has moved on.

I've been thinking of all those here who are facing health, family and troubling issues in their lives. I'm sending lots of good thoughts, well wishes and ((hugs)) your way. I feel so fortunate now not to be facing any emergency, but we all know how quickly that can change!

All my daily and Friday chores are done for the moment. Dh just came home; his test was good. It's time for some lunch since it is now afternoon. Nancy, your chicken soup sounds delicious!

Hooray! No cavities. The hygienst did see a spot/ulcer type thing that she told me to keep a watch on... that sorta bothered me... and she & the dentist probed at a tooth they think might be developing a cavity, but nothing showed up on x-ray, so he said it could wait.

I'm going to take a little nap before dgs arrives. BBL.

:!: RED FOX !!! :!:

I have been out yelling like a banshee's mother-in-law at the woods.... IN the woods.

Thank heaven HRH got hungry for lunch at the perfect time. He glimpsed the fox first, we both made an appearance, and hopefully he/she was disgusted enough with our hens' protection that coming back doesn't look as tempting. HRH continues to regret his distance from a gun at the time, because a shot over the head would have been pretty convincing. However, my banshee imitation was remarkably impressive.

It was only HRH's chick-itentiary that gave us that much time, so he is again vindicated in all that work he's done. The fox seemed to be eyeing a jump onto the top, HRH says, and as soon as that was done, there would have been a way in. He's already planning how to close up the triangular gaps that do exist up there.

Couple things - thank heaven we have a red fox. Although he/she had better find meals elsewhere, he/she is not a coyote, further proof of what many around here have been saying. Coyotes seem to have disappeared and rabbits are coming back. I believe there has been a little vigilante justice in these parts in retribution for some small pets' deaths.

Also, I was pretty impressed with my repertoire of non-bad-word yelling so as not to make the neighbors think I am a sailor. "You sorry, low down, good for nothing .... " but not getting inappropriate, you know.

"...stop laughing!"
Emptynester, I had just asked you if you were recuperating, so I certainly wouldn't laugh. Besides, I would have traded you all that kitchen work even-steven for an uphill hike.

Mr. Sunny and lucylee, happy for your good reports today.

Doesn't somebody want to go to this reunion for me?

Action footage of my opinion of the evening.

But as I told dd33 on the phone today, later I would regret if I don't go. This is a chance to get credit for going when it is casual and only 1/4 to 1/2 as many people.

Twins Mom, have you decided whether you are going to yours or not? Oh, meant to ask, how is dd's foot?

It's been a roller-coaster waiting for dd14's grades to settle down into something HRH and I can understand. (It is parent-communication online taht we are supposed to try to understand, but grades shown as "final letter" grades keep changing...?) It looks like health (of all things) and science wriggled their way out of her grasp to Bs but that's okay. The rest are As and two of those show over-100 number finishes.

Harriet -- where do you find these things??? I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the "action footage"!!! That is sooo my reaction to just about everything I am asked to do lately!

DH & DS are walking w/dgs in the stroller. I do not want to walk b/c I do not want to sweat after having s2s.

I have 2nd load of laundry in the washer... so much I need to do... so little I want to do...
I'm hoping this lack of energy is a natural reaction to the stress of the last month of school + travel + ddad's death, and MAYBE, like I hope for dmom, MAYBE I will eventually get "rested up" and have enthusiasm for household routines and little projects I need to do, too.
Tomorrow is another day.

Harriet, I was cracking up watching Clint's expressions in "Gran Torino". My dh watches that movie every time that he sees it will be on. That gun that Clints character is so proud of, is just like the one my dh won in that raffle recently. Just today my dm told me that her and her 2 sisters watched "Gran Torino" last Sunday afternoon. Most Sundays after church dm and her 2 sisters either go out to eat or eat at one of the sisters home. Then they watch 1 or 2 movies.

I better drag myself to the store. I am just buying enough to get me thru the weekend. I am having a hard time thinking up meals to cook.

LOL, I am laughing at Harriet's diatribe on the red fox situation.

I finally made the DPC. Have been stuck all this time on that, not wanting to do anything else until I did it, and not wanting to make the call. Then I called and talked to dmom and talked to her about the nursing home.

I am kind of at loose ends. So tired and don't feel like doing much after driving so much Wed - Thurs and I am just wiped out.

Lucylee, yes, I am sure it is very natural - so many changes for you in the last month it will take awhile for you to get back to normal.

Harriet, I haven't decided. Probably no. I haven't heard from dd at camp so assuming all is well with foot. She is wearing the boot another week. Heard this morning from an attorney in area where she rec'd speeding ticket and her court date was moved to August right before school starts. We're going to have her do a defensive driving course when she gets home from camp, before the court date.

The first half of the above post sat here awhile before I got it posted. In the meantime, I've moved ahead on a couple of other "stuck" items....

Online I paid my "professional privilege license" which was due on June 1. Realized a couple of days ago that I hadn't done it and needed to do so. And I also realized a day or two ago that I need to file the Guardian/conservator report and it was due 60 days from the guardianship was granted, which was April 9. So I guess I'll spend some time this weekend on that....

2nd load of laundry hanging to dry...
3rd load (just one pair of black pants & one pair of black shorts) in washer now...
DGS getting tired of sitting in his stroller. (He enjoyed being pushed while dh & ds walked. He fell asleep & took a little nap, and he's been sitting in the stroller watching me do laundry since they came in. Also had a bottle, but now it's time for something else. I sooo wish I could find a little baby walker b/c he is quite a handful when he is on the floor. We have a bouncy seat, but it only entertains him for a little bit and then he wants DOWN. Wants to be OUT & ABOUT.)

I have ordered the first 3 seasons of D ownton A bbey on dvd. :D
Tried to order ladies relaxed fit C arhartt jeans. Apparently there is no such animal anymore. (Except in the carpenter style.) I have totally worn holes in the thighs of mine and I would so love to have another pair, but looks like it is not to be.

Oh -- I loved hearing about the fox, too, but I am a little worried about the chickens! I know Harriet & HRH will keep a good eye on them, though!
Tomorrow is another day.
