Oh, thank goodness. lucylee's back. The thread pages seem long enough now. I kept thinking there should be more thoughts on each page.
lucylee, this is the second time you've mentioned the book and the first time I was still thinking maybe it was a purchased self-help book, but you mean you have a little book of wise things you've saved. That's cool.
Did anyone else notice the similarities between Lynlee's and lucylee's posts last evening?
bringing up every upset I've ever had with a certain set of people is not helpful, as is bringing up every issue ever encountered when trying for a sane discussion about one matter - Lynlee
"Quit telling yourself CRAP. Your mind will believe whatever you tell it. Tell it good stuff." - lucylee quoting Emptynester
Lynlee, I think you were very wise there. Seeing the reunion women the other day reminded me again that so often the people involved in incidents don't remember them the same way, and may have actually experienced them differently in the first place. Rehashing upset in our minds may have very little use if others wouldn't even recognize the rehash. Each of those women, of course, saw our high school experience colored in a different way - they had different stand-out moments.
One was shocked at a shared experience that all the rest of us had taken in stride. But it had forever negatively colored her memory of another person, while the rest of us quickly forgave and continued in high opinion of that person. When we discussed it, it was as if we were talking about two completely different memories. Yet she had never been able to forget or forgive, for... .. 39 years. And then, nobody remembered it the way she did. Kinda shakes your faith in grudges.
Microwave - With the room well ventilated, boil (in a microwavable cup) water with lemon juice. Let it set inside until cool without opening. Sometimes that freshens the smell. Have to mention, though, that breathing fumes from plastics burning could be unhealthy.
