Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Had nausea last night; unusual for me. It kept me awake for about an hour. This morning, the tummy is a little unsettled but not too severe. Dh said his tummy was a bit off too, so we're wondering if we ate something, though since he took ds out and I took dd17 out, we both ate different food. We both had a slice of watermelon that had been sitting out for some time last night.
I need to look to see what is up with Lynlee.
I have clorox wipes in each bathroom, Harriet.
I'm back from walking in the arb while dh ran. I've sent an email to dd15. Dd17 sent one too, so she'll receive 2 emails today.
While checking on the hens this morning, I left the door unlatched, as I often do. This time, however, the door swung open and Iris and Iggy escaped. They were so happy out in the yard it was tempting to give them more time, but dh was immediately concerned about the grass. I got Pepper out to help round them up (if she just stands still, she is helpful; she doesn't chase them) and of course Maia came out too. So, that was a bit of excitement; Maia LOVED the chickens; she really loved chasing them. Iris obligingly ran away, but Iggy quickly got aggressive, fluffed out, and looked like she was going to attack Maia, who carefully stayed out of harm's way.
OK, dh is out of the shower so I'm going to s2s and get this day going, now that it is almost 11 a.m.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Helia, what an education for Maia, glad Iggy stood her ground. Moses had a walk with Daisy, an 18 m/o German shepherd this morning. After Macs went in, I took moe up to say hello to Daisy as I'm trying to socialize him more. The two of them surely woke up any neighbors still sleeping at 7:30 this morning. Finally the two of them would walk alongside us w a decent distance between them and only occasional fits of barking at each other, but we didn't let them approach too close yet.
Still waiting here, another issue brought to light so I will visit dsis Friday, I hope. Nice to have unexpected day "off." I should call a temple friend and met with her to do some needed work today, but I can't face it.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
We are parked at the Elk Lodge we wanted to get to yesterday. We are so glad we started at 6 am this morning as we had NO wind all day. Now that we are parked, the flags across the street are blowing straight out. So we made the right decisions. We will be here 2 nights with full hookup (Water, Electric and Sewer).
First up after we relax a bit will be to find a grocery store as we are out of bread, milk and fruit.
We are about 5 feet from the fence to a Fire Station. Hope they don't have many calls during the night.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Visit with minister is done.
Had my first lunch. Dh had french toast and offered to make me some but I have to wait almost 2 hours between each eating so I passed.
The surgeon's office called: my appointment is on July 23. I can only carry up to 20 lbs over the next 6 weeks. Like that's going to happen the only time I carry more than 15 lbs is when I'm on the road and have to lift a suitcase. Glad it is over 5lbs though. I was willing to stop at 10 but dh knows the truth now so I might have to carry the laundry myself. Apparently, I can take off my clear plastic bandages now and let the under bandages come off on their own. I'm afraid to do that. Just had dh take the leftover adhesive off my arms from the blood draws this morning. The longer it has been, the more the various places I was taped up have shown up. Found one under my bra line so I'm assuming that happened while I was asleep in the OR.
Off to rest now in the shade structure. I'm exhausted but don't want to nap inside so I'll get the rest of the cushions for the outdoor furniture (ds is in my zero gravity chair.)

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
K in C I remember peeling off tape from my midriff after being in the hospital.
I've got the two younger kids here today for a bit they seemed excited to see each other to have a play mate not fighting like dgd & dgson do. He's been going with his dad & playing with friends this summer.
I've done a couple rounds around here this morning, folded the last load of laundry from yesterday. Put cookie dough in the freezer I just was not in the mood for baking cookies so we will use them later I'm confident of that.
Dgd helped me to de-clutter books this week by picking out a stack to take home with her. A book swap is a good thing!

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Hello, villagers ~
Dee ~ I've never seen a swarm of bees that large!
Glad your DH was given immediate attention at ER and hope he's feeling much better today.
Kathryn ~ You sound so much better. Doing laundry already after gall bladder & hernia surgery? I think you are making a remarkably quick recovery.
I so appreciate all of the careful advice given to anyone who posts on these forums. Such a wealth of knowledge and experience in all of our villagers!
Last night's meeting was productive. It was a business meeting so I'm not sure that can be called "fun" but we figured out some details for a sewing event for Quilts of Valor in September which will be a good time.
After the meeting I stopped at WM to pick up a few things I had forgotten last time I was there. It was late enough when I got home that I didn't even bother turning on the computer.
Right now I'm waiting for my jeans to be done in the dryer so I can run errands. My list for food and supplies keeps getting longer as I inventory the cupboards. Hmm guess I should clear everything out of the trunk before I hit the road.
Camping prep ~
The good: DH said he will be able to get off work early Friday if we decide to camp.
The bad: Weather forecast is looking worse every day.
Chances for tent camping: 50/50
When I get back from errands, I will
1) scrub out the coolers and the insulated jug I use for clean ice for drinks.
2) make sure I know where the bottles of sunblock and bug repellent are.
3) find my straw hat.
We'll need those things whether we stay the weekend or just do a day trip on Saturday.
Some of the things on the shopping list are paper goods for the picnic. No need to even bring those in the house, they'll be fine in the car.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
I suppose I'm better. Hard to tell.
Just lay down for a few hours outside. Read for one section of the first chapter of my next book (dime store crime novel, literally, it was published and printed in the 50's!) and then slept. Ds has left for work.
I folded and brought in the laundry since I'm allowed to lift. I will get dh to do the stairs with it, because my knees are giving out (can't do the physio for them and MUST walk to recover from the tummy surgery which is the worst thing I can do to them right now - biking comes on the weekend.)
The outside living room is now all set up (cushions upstairs and encased in their plastic.)
Dh is asking for a dinner idea so I guess it will be steak. That's the only thing interesting me.
Time for my second lunch or early dinner and more advil. Because of the nap I was able to stretch the time between the morning and afternoon doses by two hours.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Hi everyone! It is not workin' Wed here as we still do not have any work at payroll. I am not making enough to pay my bills, but am making more than unemployment and am getting benefits. I have DD11 this whole week! Monday, we went to the grocery store. Now, that does not sound very exciting, but with her leg, we had to use the electric cart buggies. She learned to drive it well and was kept entertained during the expedition. Tuesday, she wanted to go to the Tuesday knit/crochet group. She actually enjoyed that (of course, I enjoyed it). I got what I thought would be the last flowers done for her vest, but she decided she needed 3 more. That won't take long. Sewing them on will take a while, but not too bad. Next up, she wants many many baby gold dragons. I have promised only one, because I have never done this pattern and I don't want to commit to something horribly difficult. Tonight, she will go with me to a vet trip for dFosterCat10, who is getting bald patches. DD wanted to go to the vet. One part of me hopes it is not ringworm, because it is SO contagious. However, it is fixable. DD wants to go because the last two vet trips have been disastrous (one euthanasia and one death before the appointment).
I was going to take DD out for lunch, but XDH has her so I will do it tomorrow. She got a walking cast, but can't walk on it for 2 weeks! I am not sure what we are eating for dinner. There is leftover ham, but no rice left.
ETA: This will amuse you: I have a very unusual form of entertainment at my house for DD. I am letting her take apart my old broken dryer. She has gotten the drum out and uses it in the LR as a form of rocking chair by sitting inside it and rolling.

Re: WORKIN' WEDNESDAY
Aaaaaaack! My car isn't fixed yet! At 1:20ish they said it was fixed - no more weird noise - and I paid a substantial amount of $$$ and was driving off, and there was the noise again!
So didn't even get it off the lot...at that point they set me up with a rental car and I finally got home 2:30ish and napped until now, when ds came in from work. I don't know what to think. The service adviser guy said he had listened to it in the shop and the noise was gone, but he agreed that it was the same noise I had this morning. Aaack.
I don't know if I mentioned it this morning but Moses also gave out a yelp this morning when he apparently stepped on something sharp - with all the construction maybe a nail? and he's limping so a trip to vet may be in order.
I'm kinda feeling like I can't catch a break, although these are all minor issues compared to surgeries and hospitalizations....
I'm still sleepy...sipping an iced coffee but should get busy here....
-start a lol
-clear kitchen counters
-clear kitchen table
-make the bed
-fold two lols that got dumped out when ds did his laundry last night
