Currently keeping an eye on weather forecast which says 40% chance of heavy storm tomorrow night. After that it drops to 20% chance of rain.

I have planned meals that will work either way. For example, tonight is "must-go" to empty the fridge & freezer so we have room to cool beverages and make ice. Tomorrow supper will be chicken tenders cooked in a skillet with salsa (easy to cook on a camp stove, easy cleanup) and a pasta salad that I'll make tonight so it will be ready. Tomorrow lunch will be sandwiches which we can either pick up on the way out of town to eat in the park before setting up the tents, or stay and eat at the sub shop if we decide not to camp.

The big picnic in the park shelter is for Saturday supper. The "host family" DB J and his wife L are going to grill burgers and brats. I made a deal with L that rather than bring a big dish of food, DH and I will bring the table covers, disposable dinner plates & dessert plates, napkins, and a case of bottled water.

That helps J&L with the expense of the event, and helps me not worry about food safety. Otherwise, I would have had to fix something at a camp site, or cook at home and then transport an hour. Those are both possible options, but not the best situation.

I'm also going to take a big jar of pickled red cabbage just in case it looks like there will not be enough food -- like that would ever happen!

Everyone else will be bringing a side dish or dessert, and their own beverages.

In the meantime, I'm being diligent about laundry and dishes to make sure all is done. Speaking of which, I hear the washer has stopped. Time to flip that load and then go out and finish clearing out my car.

We just made the decision not to camp this weekend. The previous weather forecast said 40% chance of a storm for tomorrow night, and now they have added that if the storm does form, it will have potential for high wind and hail. We do not want to deal with tents in wind and hail.

Plus, even if it doesn't storm, the heat index will be mid-90s and it won't cool down very much at night. I don't want to be that much of a mess for a family reunion!

We'll sleep at home in front of fans Friday night and try to be well-rested for the stressful social occasion on Saturday. Still hoping for a campfire after supper, if it doesn't rain.

Dh commented tonight something about being back to square one as far as recovery goes. He has been diagnosed with diast olic heart failure, atrial 'flutter' -closely related to atrial fribillation (Know Sunny can tell us about that). He has been put on a new blood thinner and has his first blood draw on Monday. Nurse comes tomorrow, and then Dr appointments next week.

Found out today that we're not having a class reunion this year. WHAT? We have one every five years. So we'll do something else if dh is up to it. If he can take a road trip by the end of July we may take a trip to visit friends in Indianapolis. We'll see. Lot will depend on how fast he recovers from this setback. He had hard time believing how fast he went downhill after Monday.

Going to head to bed. I'm tired. Dh says I deserve to be -hmmmm wonder what he meant by that.

Home again. Long day for sure. I stopped to pick up Chinese for me and dh. He has an eye infection going and just started antibiotics.

I really feel that my mom's memory is going down fast. She still had not checked her blood sugar (since May 29 now) and argues with me that she "knows" if it's off, and she's more prone to lows than highs. I mentioned that "E" had some things for me to take to dsis and she asked later who "E" was - it's her grandson's wife. (They have been together at least six years. This is dsis' son.) We got out of the house today before I realized the batteries in her hearing aids were dead, then she told me how expensive they are, and that they should last more than a "few hours." Generally argumentative, I think because she fears the loss of control but I am feeling wiped out.

My car is not ready - they felt they diagnosed the issue but then it couldn't be fixed today. So tomorrow the rental car is going on a long trip.

Dee for the first while perhaps you should nap while dh is napping. After all, you've been through the wringer too. (Disregard this advice when he naps in the car!)

I wasted this evening watching tv.

Ate a full dinner instead of two little ones. I was hungry enough but then felt overfull after and a bit lethargic. Will go for a walk around the block now in order to get my steps up to 5K.

Have a meeting at the senior's residence tomorrow at 10:30 to learn what they expect of me. She called and asked for 4 Sundays in total, three in July, plus the first Sunday of August.

Just downloaded the bulletin from my July 21 church and it is minimalist. I'm not sure if that means they project all the prayers or if there aren't responsive prayers. I'll find out more closer to the date. That service is at 10:30 so the days I have two services, I'll be fine even though the church is 1 hour away, since the senior's service starts at 2. I'll have lunch at a Subway in between, plus it is country driving so little chance of traffic being a problem.

Bookie - I'm glad you are going to be nice and dry. Camping in a thunderstorm is a bit more adventurous that I'm comfortable with.

LO received an excellent report from audiologist and ENT doc. This was a regular semi-annual hearing check up after having tubes put in. It came at the perfect time. I told them that his hearing has either greatly decreased or it is going through ***a 4 year old phase***. The past 2 weeks LO has been telling me he can't hear me......about the same time I tell him to turn the TV down and/or pick up his toys. I couldn't help but wonder if it could be true.... After they put him through the sound proof booth test and physically examined his ears, they both assured me that his hearing is fine. YES! I can deal with ***a 4 year old phase*** now that I know he is capable of hearing what I say to him.
