Lynlee, I hope your CT scan shows no further problems.
Dee, sorry your DH is having a rough time recovering from all this. Know it's got to be a constant worry to you.

Oh, poor Macs. If I ate all that bread at once I might not eat my breakfast either. Hope the plastic goes right through. I once had an Irish Setter jump up on table and eat a pound of ground beef - in the plastic - and still frozen. He was okay.

Sadie, prayers for Betty & her family.

Kathryn, your body is probably in recovery mode, it's stressed, and it's just holding on to whatever nutrition it has. Better than getting thin and sickly. Maybe your metabolism will kick in later.

Oh, I wanted to say that I think this site is way nicer, with smarter more polite caring people than most I've been to. I frequent 2 medical forums. One has very supportive people and they do a lot of research. Other has lots of information but not so supportive. I look into one other which has general info on lots of different topics, and they're not supportive of one another at all. I just read for the links. We are extraordinary here!

I am anchored to my desk. Some bills to pay, but lots and lots of unusual little projects to do. Plus, closing out June. Tomorrow is the last day of the month and we've already passed the last payroll Friday of June. It usually goes faster than it's going right now. I need to just concentrate harder.

Dh, dd and I went to the gym. (She sat and waited while dh & I walked). A guy came up to us and asked for our first & last names. Went back to check the computer and there we were -you think? Took out our cards when we got back to the desk to check expiration -computer says 2025 our cards say 2039???? I don't think we'll be around then. Pretty sure about that. Dh only did 7 laps -I went a few more. Just too wet to walk here. We had nearly 3" since it all started yesterday. Little bit of sun right now.

DS-R, DGS8 and a couple others are out in Camden, OH practicing for the WKA event to be held next week. Both DS's and families are going out next week. DS-A kinda wanted dh to go out with them in their MH just to watch. Had to help him understand that the trip alone would be too much for dh. DS hasn't seen him since he went in the hospital last week so really has no idea (other than what we've tried to tell him) the shape dh is in. (Thanks, Harmony -he is having somewhat of a difficult time and I'm sure he never saw this coming. He's big on attitude, but I don't think he ever realized he could get down about not making much of any progress.) Does concern me right now that he gets so short of breath so easily. Perhaps something will show up at the cardiologist's on Monday.

Bought a prepared salad for dh and me to split for lunch. He took the golf cart a little bit ago to go have someone fill up a gas can for our (noisy) pump out back.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I'd better hurry and post, even though I haven't completely caught up. Interruptions are rampant today because my ddad just can't rest.

(((((Kathryn))))

I am stomping my foot for you. Not fair, not fair.
Although I'm grateful you did not find your ordeal to be "wasting" to you, which can sometimes be a danger signal for general health, I don't have a clue why the scale wont admit anything. Of course, you're not through when you step off the scale. Is there a chance slacks fit better? I've been reading lately that sugar decrease is sometimes reflected in inches before weight.

We've been contacted by a location scout for 20th Century Fox in case we would let the outside of our house be a filming location. It is because it is rural and convenient to other sites they want to use, not because it is special otherwise. HRH was more against it than I was, which we both found interesting, since I'm usually the introvert. He says he can foresee some problems for a house seen as "the place" some popular fictional character did something notable. Whatever scene were done would probably be ordinary, but he doesn't want to chance our yard becoming a "destination" for anybody in the future. As I started to think about it, I remembered that local newspapers sometimes do articles with photos about this kind of filming. And I thought, yea, we'll pass.

My ddad just cannot rest today. I'm blessed that HRH has been in and out, and took him out for an ice cream to break up his day. But even with that, which should have been tiring, he just cannot settle down. No nap at all, which is not a good thing.

Ohh...I'm sending out hugs to all in need. Poor Max...sounds like when Willis decided to eat the plastic bottle caps from three water bottles.

Dee...When Sweetie's mom was having difficult times with the same thing as your dh, we discovered that the salt in her food were contributing to her woos. It took a while for the dr's to get her problems under control. Knew how worrisome it is for both of you.

Sadie...sounds like you're proud of your clean house and guys. Enjoy

Waving to y'all. I need to focus, focus focus....I'm like Kathryn in the suddenly its Saturday and I can't figure out where my week is gone either. Need to pay some bills...that should motivate me to finish up my office. Gremlins..........Yikes!!!!

When I collected all the scraps of plastic and the bit of the buns from the garbage, Macs had actually ate less plastic than I thought. His vitals were good at the emergency clinic (and he looks bright-eyed and well) so they decided not to charge me for the visit and not to do anything for now. They made a record so if we need to come back this weekend they will have that info.

He did the PT well - walked and swam and is worn out. I guess his tummy was just still overfull this morning? I took his food up until the evening.

Headache...ibuprofen and will try to close eyes.

Hello, villagers ~

Suddenly Saturday is right, but I don't have Kathryn's excuse of being away from home several days. The week just disappeared!

Needed to jump right into desk work this morning for something I want to go out in today's mail.

I want to drive over to the nearest big park to check out the condition of the camping facilities. We've had some flash flooding in the area, and their website shows several construction projects scheduled for this summer. We may not be able to camp there at all this year. :(

But I am still doing little mini-jobs to get ready for camping if we ever get to go. (Otherwise it's good emergency gear for various situations.) One of our water jugs sprung a leak last time I tried to use it, so I bought a new one this week. At Aldi, of all places ... a nice 2-gallon plastic jug with a handle, a large opening on top to make it easy to clean and refill, and a spigot on the side, made in USA.

Other than that, not a lot planned for this afternoon. Dh had a problem starting the new mower a couple of nights ago, so I'm betting he's going to want to mess around with that today.

Harriet wrote last night:
BookSaver, you and I both mentioned that book, just minutes apart. I was posting in H and F and linked, if anyone wants to see. It immediately starts me thinking, could it work if you chose different meals on different days, like a big traditional breakfast sometimes. Interesting to consider.
I thought the same thing. Then I wondered if the psychological effect might be part of the success of the "diet." It's easier to eat "vegan" -- or whatever restriction you want to put on the first 2/3 of the day -- if you know you'll have the somewhat immediate reward of being allowed to splurge on the evening meal. My assumption is that as long as the "reward" of the big meal for breakfast will carry you through the rest of the day without feeling deprived, it should balance out to the same amount of calories no matter what time of day you consume them.

I will look for those Sketchers GoWalk shoes, thanks for the suggestion.

Emptynester ~ Thanks for the reminder to catch up with your blog. I love reading your travel notes.

I am playing catch-up today but never fully CUOP.

Cowinkie, dd14 probably has an opinion on math websites, I'll ask. Right now she holds out some hope for the colorful 2012 book, Geometry by Rebecca Wingard-Nelson. It's part of the "Ace Your Math Test" series. In libraries, they would be in the "Young Adult" section. :) Another in the series is Algebra. But she also picked up the classic from the regular non-fiction shelves, Painless Geometry by Lynette Long, 2001 and 2009. I will tell you, that what sold her on that one is the funny illustrations and the tagline, "If you think geometry is difficult and dull, open this book and think again". You'd laugh at the back cover illustration of a bee about to sting, with the line, "Really. This isn't going to hurt at all..."

Oh, Harmony's story makes me remember that large-breed dog in front of us in line, who took the ice-cream shop's dog treat and ate it in one whooolf, plastic cup and all. Dog owner was so worried, just about diving down his throat to get it back (which, amazingly, she did), and all the while the dog growling a warning. Yipes. That was plastic that could split and break (and had). I'd assume the plastic Macs ate is pliable.

Harmony, happy for you about dealing well with the bank folks.

Harriet Nope, clothes are looser. In fact, clothes & operation combine to make me very uncomfortable. My clothes barely fit before I got sick. Now that I have four incision points, they down right hurt in certain positions. It isn't just pants or skirts, my new XL underwear is uncomfortable too because of where the waist band falls. So even if I wear a dress with no waistband, I'm not going to be comfortable. And I can't wear panty-hose either (not a problem until next week when I'm preaching since I don't like to preach in bare legs.)

Dh and I went out and got the groceries (mainly fruit and veggies but also a few 'treats' for dh.) Ice cream and gelato are on sale for an excellent price. Gelato is probably ok for me but I decided to pass.

When we got home there was a message that the party has been postponed until tomorrow night since the weather should be better then. It isn't raining now but has been this morning. My meal plan was flexible so this doesn't mess me up at all.

I've had my first lunch (the leftover chili and some milk) and a piece of raisin bread for my second lunch. Need to add in some salad or fruit to that. Then I'll start in on some housework.

Kathryn, Would thigh-high stockings help solve the pantyhose problem? :?:

After one of my surgeries, I wore jumpers and skirts a lot with knee-high stockings under the skirts, since the skirt hems were very long and never exposed the top of the stockings. I wonder if a foundation, which has the bra built-in, with a midriff and panty, all-in-one, would work, too? :?: Or some nice-fitting boxers for women with a camisole might be nice. It sounds totally exasperating! :!:  I hope something works out for you before you resume preaching.

It's going to be in the 80's here today. The 90's come on Monday and Tuesday with an on-shore flow bring us into the 70's around the 4th. :D

My new lumbar memory foam pillow's on the FedEx truck out for delivery to our home today! I sure do need it! :!:

The sun's lovely, the cat looks at the squirrels oddly, as they try to climb the wooden center umbrella pole in the middle of the patio table. They get to the closed umbrella and then come down. We have a squirrel guard on our bird feeder, so I don't now if they think bird seed is way up high under the closed umbrella or what!

We haven't seen our doe nursing her twin fawns for about 1 1/2 weeks, so they might be hunkering down to keep cool.

Have a nice Saturday, Everyone! :D

Kathryn
How about thigh hi hose???? Thanks Harriet for the info.

Took Willis out to swim while there was some cloud cover. He didn't want to stay long. Then all this talk abt dogs eating plastic must of made him hungry. He got into my office and started to make a meal of some used q-tips on the floor. I had used them while cleaning my boom box. Luckily I found him just in time :D
