It is 69 at 9:50. Our low was 55. This is wonderful weather but just unheard of for this time of year. We slept with the window open and it was so nice.

Still haven't colored my hair.

Talked to dsisil (dbs dw). Her dad is in the last stages of life. He barely eats. He recently told dsisil that he wasn't going to be around much longer. She said that he is really wearing her dm down with his constant demands. Yesterday she didn't get to bed until 3:00 am. Dsisil babysits 2 grandkids several days a week. She helps out a lot though. Her dm doesn't drive, so she takes them to the dr., buys their groceries and runs all errands plus helps with her dad. Dsisil lives 17 miles from them. She told me that last week the dr. told her that with him not eating much, he wouldn't live more than a few weeks.

I better get busy, doing something, even if it's wrong.

Hello everyone. We have a clear blue sky for the first time in days.

Answer for Dove (from yesterday) no I didn't sell the rental house. Refinancing mortgage here.

Twins, I give you big gold medal for dealing with dsis house.

Lilac, DD2 sounds like she's stressed. I bought that book for DGS14's bday as one of his gifts and I read it before giving it to him. He is a big fan. My take on Phil's raising of his children is that he was very strict and didn't give his children any wiggle room when they were in trouble. One son was on "house arrest" by him for a while. Apparently it worked for them.

Dee, I'm hoping DH's new med regime helps a lot.

I have a stomach ache today. Don't know why. It's been nagging for a few days. I typed up my minutes for our committee meeting tonight. I also got all my spreadsheets caught up to date. I have the first 1/2 of the year all done now. DH is working on a project now and I'm sure there will be a lot of paperwork for me to produce sometime this afternoon.

I'm REALLY irritable now. I took dd15 to the SOS. We took a number and waited one hour and 10 minutes while they progressed through all of 13 numbers. In the middle of our wait, they called up everyone who was renewing their drivers licenses and took care of them first -- SO, several people ended up in front of us that had walked in after us. When we left, there were still 25 numbers ahead of ours. Maybe some of those were drivers license people, but even so, I was figuring it would take at least another hour and likely more to get through. I have a lot to do today. Dd15 and I will go back next week - when the office opens. Usually, this office is very efficient. It has changed location. I don't know if that is related to its snail's pace today or not. *phew* I need an attitude adjustment now before I go on with the rest of my day. I just wasted 2 hours I didn't have. Grr...... (I can't take dd15 first thing tomorrow a.m. b/c Lily has a vet check up 9 a.m. tomorrow.)

Next:
- attitude adjustment
- finish a.m. routine
- laundry
- groc. list made
- groc. store? I need to take dh to his office by 2.

ISP tech's spent 2 hours troubleshooting & tweaking. They replace wireless modem and added an amplifier. Hopefully it will stay connected. They weren't very hopeful because they once again told how the frequency channels are overloaded. The company has new equipment on order, but it seems everyone is buying this equipment and it is backlogged. I'm hopefully I can stay with this ISP company because I really like the owner and employees. We have been with them forever (10 years?). Customer service is awesome.

While the fellas were working here, I needed to stay available but out of their way. I decided to cook & bake. I made cupcakes and a spice/carrot/raisin/pecan bundt cake. Then I cooked bacon and added it to a big pot of home grown green beans while they simmered. The techs were still working so I made a Salmon/cheese loaf and washed all the dishes from my messes. :)

(((Helia)))) How frustrating. I think your attitude is certainly understandable. Maybe changing expectations would make it easier next time. Going anywhere after the 1st of the month always seems to be extra busy. I feel for the employees that work there, they must have a miserable experience day after day of serving tired, frustrated customers. Wondering if it possible to call them and ask if they have a typical slow period time of day? Or....bake an extra loaf of parmesan bread and deliver it to them. I expect you might be moved to the front of the line.

I shake my head at our customers in amazement. They get in lines 4-5 deep. It takes 6-9 minutes for each vehicle (depending on the wash they select). NO WAY would I get in line to wait 30-45 minutes. There are always times of the day with no waiting

Harmony, I am not sure if Phil Robertson has daughters, so I'm not sure how much either one of us will gain from it. Dsisil has 3 boys, so I should have taken that into consideration. Plus, in dd2s case she is grown and there isn't anything I can do to change her now. I just need to work on myself.

I am sitting here with hair color on now. I am so slowwwwwwww today.

helia, there was an article in our paper last week warning people that it will take forever to accomplish whatever you are at the DMV for. Normally there are 4 workers, in May 1 retired and 1 quit, both with no notice. They said it will take several months to get 2 people hired and trained. It was a nightmare before this. I can't even imagine now.

Time to rinse hair.

((Helia)) it was like there here, as well. There was another place in the next small county over that some people went to because it was less crowded. The only advice I have is to get there as early as possible. Here, you can also make an appointment for the driving test, I think.

Went back to dsis' house today with realtor. He thinks once it's emptied we can try to list it for maybe $14K. No guarantees it will sell, although he says it won't smell as bad once it's emptied. (He says it's not the worst he's ever seen, either. :? ) Gagged again today initially.

Frustrated with XBIL. He has an abandoned car and truck there, no title for either apparently? Realtor suggested we get the truck out to make room for the dumpster but now BIL says to wait until next month for the dumpster when he has more time. I want to work with him to get what he wants out, but OTOH he's had since last December and I'm ready now. Looking around a little more, there's also a shed full of junk, and the car there is also full of junk. I should probably just go ahead and get a dumpster and get started myself....

Hello, all!
I am waiting on ds to come walk w/me. DH has gone to play golf.
Talked to dmom on phone. Decided what time we needed to leave tomorrow. I'm still handling this w/out excessive nervous attack. His grace IS sufficient.

I should be dusting or something while I wait...

(((Lilac))) I just feel for you sooo much w/the dd and dmom drama... (((BIG HUGS)))
And I am so sorry about your dsisil's ddad... and dmom. Sounds like dh's ddad, as he drew close to end after his stroke. That is so exhausting and sad for everyone. We have friends who are dealing with the same situation now.

(((helia))) Our driver's license office is like that, too. Had to wait FOREVER w/ddil when she was getting hers changed.
Twins, I give you big gold medal for dealing with dsis house.
Boy... ditto to THAT!

Soooo glad to hear change of medication was such a big help for Mr. Dee!!! Hopefully there will be NO MORE frightening episodes like y'all had this weekend!

(((Harmony))) Hope your stomach feels much better by the time you read this! BIG WTG on getting all that paperwork done -- church minutes, spreadsheets.

Hope you ALL have a great day!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

(((Twins))) such a big job. Go for it. As you said, he's had months to do something about this and didn't make it a priority, or coordinating with you a priority. Now he has to put up with the results of his procrastination. (As a SHE, I recognize and accept the consequences of my procrastination even if I don't like it!)

We are settled in the hotel. We found a 3 block outside (3 block inside) path to the hotel so just walked here. Dh pushed the chair and my senior friend, I had the two suitcases trained together and walked along more slowly with our business partner friend (who at 72 and in a full suit on a hot day, was slow moving.)

The train staff were excellent getting our senior friend on and off the train using a lift. It was effective but also very quick so it didn't make us feel like they were going to too much trouble. The washroom on the train had lots of grab bars so she was ok in there on her own.

We have had lunch (I went and got takeaway) and the men-folk are off doing the technical meeting.

We'll just camp out here all until 4:30. I'm going to try and get a nap in.

Internet isn't working for me but I brought my USB modem so that's working fine for me.
