DH spent several days in hospital with pancreatitis a few years ago. We never knew what caused it (no gallbladder troubles). i just read that scorpion stings can cause it. Interesting.

We hosted the Friday Night Gang last night. I had spent the majority of the day working on tax prep so found myself scrambling to get the house picked up and ready. I baked cookies an hour before they arrived so the house smelt good.

Our internet connection is flaky. Even after they worked on it for several hours. I'm trying not to get frustrated.

Kathryn, good luck with the test. You've been through a lot.

I've been checking in but busy here and haven't been able to post.

Yesterday was dinner to say goodbye to DH's Neice and her DH. They left today for new home state up north. She says they'll travel down a lot and visit, stay summers, etc., so we'll see. Our trip out there was in blinding rain.

I've been having severe cabin fever lately. It's been years since we've had a vacation, other than a couple trips to see DKids, and all of those have been stressful in one way or another. I found a state park an hour & 1/2 away we've never seen and we are going to go there tomorrow. So I must get some things for a picnic to take along, plus some mosquito repellent, as this one's in Cyprus swamps. Not sure how it'll work, we'll see how much walking dh can do.

DD2 was here yesterday. I left her a casserole when we went out to our party, she was too tired to go. Mostly she napped, in the afternoon and in the evening before going back out to work at 3 in the morning. It was nice to see her.

Looks like some more rain coming in. I hope tomorrow is better.

Miserable day here. (Sunny outside but stormy in my room.) My optimism is missing and I haven't been able to get the pain down below a 4 all day. I'm very discouraged.

Dd called and talked for an hour. My sister called earlier in the day. Dh came at 4 and ds will come in the evening and take me for a walk.

Dh helped me take a shower and get dressed in fresh clothes. He also took me for a walk around the floor. I'm gone back to getting the morphine by injection (which stings like crazy) because by mouth it isn't working for me. I had a shot of anti-nausea meds before my shower to help me get through that (I was crying in frustration because I felt so bad then.)

I have made my 8 x 8 glasses of liquid today but it is hard work.

I'm going to rest now until ds comes. Dh is on his way home for dinner with ds. He'll be back in the morning.

Y'all... I am just worthless. I mean -- as far as being productive in any way. I cannot criticize dmom at all, b/c without dh around, I probably would not have been out of bed since Wed. night. Now, I know the rain is a huge draw for sleep & laziness... but good gracious -- this is ridiculous. I just don't want to do ANYTHING!
I was doing sooo well last Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.
Then I had that day w/dmom Wednesday and I've just been in a bad mood ever since.
I am in the midst of PMS... maybe that has something to do with it.
Thursday, 4th of July celebration @ dbil's, which was nice, but my heart wasn't really in it...
Yesterday, we had several errands to run (and the tire store was closed, so we'll have to go back Monday)...
and today, we've kept dgs for several hours...
but still -- I did not s2s until almost 5:00 pm and then it was somewhat under duress.
DH is home... let's see about supper. BBL.

Today I tried to post earlier but could not decided to wait and try again later. The farmers market was great so I'm now wishing I'd not had the guy cut the tops off the carrots the chickens might have liked those. I got some swiss chard, and zuchinni also.

We had a breakfast wrap outside in the patio area as it was nice and cool for our breakfast - date after that.

Then it was off to look for a lid at the thrift shop no luck but I got a few cookie cutters.

H. looked at TV's we are still gathering info. and have decided to wait until next mo. as we are still learning so much part of the process is this learning curve I think. While we were there I got herb plants marked down for $1.00 each of lemon thyme and regular thyme planted in the front yd. where the chickens will not eat it so much.

Got new undies selection is great this time of year so I'll be tossing the old ones as they show up in the laundry.

Saw a class mate, this is a couple we went to high school with that have also been married 40 years this year at the store it was good to chat and catch up I got a hug also!

Today's egg news: I got what looks like a double yolker from the new hen it's elongated shaped slightly cracked so will have it soon maybe for dinner!

I haven't been able to do anything all day. Mike cooked. I ate. He made tea. I drank. I wanted to have a nap and sleep evaded me. I just realized that I haven't brushed my hair all day. I just can't get interested in doing anything for anyone. Dh and I are going to Downsview to pick up dd's car tomorrow.

Harriet, I like the sound of that new dining set! Some of our chairs have gotten ricketty over time, too. Dh and I have worried that they may not hold some of our heavier friends should they visit. Would clear plastic covers work on your chairs until the grandkids get older? I have seen such covers, but not sure where...maybe it was Bed, Bath & B eyond.

Harriet ~ I added a note to you in AC&N about table & chair stuff.

I've had a quiet day doing desk work.

A few things discovered along the way:

* In searching Lehmans.com for household items that I have not been able to find locally, I saw a simple little mason-jar safety lamp that burns olive oil. Seems like that would be a useful thing to have handy for times when we lose power, and also for camping. Brief sidetrack to youtube to see versions that people have made from things like thrift store mug, wire hanger, cotton string. I might scrounge around for stuff like that to take on our next camping trip, because I know that if I can't figure it out, DH and his brother J will.

* Several Emails that I've been saving over the years rather than printing out sewing instructions or photos, have become useless because the links in them no longer work. That made it easy to delete them, but I'm lucky that I don't think I've lost anything vital. Just a disappointment that I thought I was doing a good thing keeping files in an electronic format that would be readable for a long time.

* The campground where we want to go sometime this summer now has a website that includes not only the current fees but also a detailed map of the camping spots, where they've added bathrooms, where to find water and firewood, hiking trails, etc. Very nice.

What about folding old dark towels over the seat until the men figure out how to direct their spoons and forks into their mouths. :0
