Kathryn, I do wish everybody would get on the same page and all of them not procrastinate doing whatever needs done to get you healed and on your way to recovery, especially before sending you home. I hope when Ken gets there he can roll a few heads and get things straightened out for you.

Lynlee, glad to see you require no surgery, but do hope everything heals just perfectly and leaves no residual discomfort.

I am out the door here in a few minutes to run some errands. When I get those done I'll treat myself to a stop at the library.

Nodding along with Harmony and hoping that Ken will be able to take charge and make some sense of what they are telling Kathryn. Feeling lousy isn't enhanced by constant changes in the plan of action; I'd be in tears also from the frustration of it all.

Here, I've whiled away the morning by napping. Need to get moving. I have been in touch with the dentist and have an appointment for 11 a.m. tomorrow to get the cracked tooth looked at.

I have a ton of phone calls and email communications I need to attend to. Also still need to get to dmom's to check in with her.

I cannot believe I have spent so many hours already this morning answering Emails.

Not that I am daring to call anyone here an old lady or anything , but ... Please give your opinion about joining AARP. Is it worth the $16 per year or no?

Waiting to hear from DBIL & DSisIL about camping this weekend. Once again I guess I will buy groceries this afternoon as if we will be going. So far the weather forecast is hot and muggy for today and tomorrow, but by the weekend will be just about perfect for camping as long as I remember the sunblock.

Sunny ~ Looks like you had a wonderful holiday weekend with family. Doesn't sound like the rain was too much of a hardship.

Lynlee ~ So glad you will not need surgery. Nice of the bus driver to take you almost to your door.

Hello Dear Ladies,

My thoughts are of Harriet and family.

It is sunny and HOT again here.

I'm off until Saturday. Using a few vacation days. Just going to be at home, maybe work on a few projects or catch up on reading.

Had trouble with my back and legs over the weekend. Sciatic nerve again. Was a challenge to walk. I did do the shopping, told myself to just pick up things until I couldn't stand it anymore and surprisingly I did it all.

Working on laundry and dishes. Someone opened up the dishwasher last night while it was going and didn't restart it so I'm a little behind on the dishes now.

We have scan and go at our WM. Does anyone else have it? It's where you shop and scan with your Iphone, pack as you shop, and then synch up at self check, pay and go. they were making a really big deal of it, having us wear shirts advertising it.

I guess they are counting on people being honest, because I don't see anything stopping a person from scanning one of something and putting 4 or 5 in the basket. That's progress.

Going to make dbrother his lunch and then work some more on dishes.

Update on me.

Back to 1 handed typing since I now have 2 IV lines. Back of r. hand is still good but too small a gauge (24) for the ct scan. The nurse showed up with heated blankets to try and get a larger gauge in left elbow. I suggested the heating pad instead and she got an 18 in no problem. It might also work for blood draws in the mornings.

I had cream of wheat for breakfast and that didn't hurt. Had PB on toast, plus some lettuce leaves and some diced pears for lunch but that did hurt. On the other hand I went 5 hours between narcotics, a recent best.

I broke into a major sweat before dh arrived so he helped me take a shower after the enema had run its course. Had to go for the tests with wet hair, but at least it is clean. My left arm is braced so I can't bend it (to protect the IV) so that will be my last shower for a while.

Ran into the weekend doc after the scan and he asked how the ercp went. Told him what happened and he just shook his head and confirmed that the other doc had ordered the test.

Helia - Glad your visit went well.

RE: Productivity - I stopped being faithful about doing my SHE cards about a month before DDad's death (4 months ago). I just haven't been able to get going again. I'm okay with that and know it is part of the grieving process to not be on top of my game. However, the stress level of being behind & clueless is starting to exceed the pain level of grief (if that makes sense). It's time for me to "climb back into the box" and put my faithful SHE cards to work again. I know grieving is different for everyone and there isn't a time line. We each have to go through the process as best as we can.

Sadie - BWTG on doing the best you can! I hadn't heard about WM Scan and Go program. I'm downloading Android app now and hopefully that capability will be included soon.

Moving slow today. Power went off at 10:30 last night, then came back on at midnight. Power company recording called and woke us up to say power would be on by 3am.

Sadie, we don't have that yet at our w-mart. But then, I'll probably never have a phone that will do that, either!

Booksaver, I belonged to AARP for 5 years. We used the hotel discount a lot when the kids were in college and we were constantly driving them back and forth and needing hotel rooms. But, if you have AAA, it's the same discount, I think. I let my membership lapse as Dh and I don't agree with some political moves that AARP has made recently.

x dfriend stopped by to go over menu and shopping items for our Detroit missions trip next week. I missed a meeting of those in charge of lunches yesterday b/c of travels. Dfriend and I are doing lunch on Monday. I need to buy 1200 chicken nuggets this week, as well as a lot of veggies and fruit.

x tweaking resume for CC job; forgot to include languages - not that I'm fluent in any others, but if I'm remembering correctly, it is a good idea to include languages for this sort of position. It is helpful for the language teacher to know something about how other languages work as well as to have spent some time in the language classroom him/herself.

I can't seem to get busy and I think it's a reaction to not working outside the home - the I've got all Day (Week, Month, Summer....) to.do.it syndrome.

Several temple emails. May have someone to succeed me as president next May 1.
