Good Morning

Last night we missed FNG to work on MPB. We made a trip to Lowes (70 mile round trip drive) to get more parts and give DH body a chance to cool down. Then DH worked at MPB until he was too tired to go on. When I woke up this morning it was a relief to see him in bed. The repairs are not finished yet so they will continue today.

Today breakfast menu was "guys choice" and they asked for bacon & pancakes covered with mounds of butter and syrup. LO also had chocolate milk. I'm happy that they enjoyed every bite and was generous with the compliments. :) Although I did set off the smoke detector TWICE while cooking the pancakes. It has been awhile since I have used cast iron griddle and it takes some getting used to.

Good morning! I slept over 10 hours last night so should be feeling rested - that doesn't preclude a short nap also since it's Shabbat. ;) DMacs has PT in 40 minutes so I need to be heading out soon. Going to do a bit of kitchen clean up before I leave - dcleaning lady left it clean yesterday but since the dishwasher hasn't been emptied and I made challah also, quite a selection of dirty dishes has accumulated.

I need to ck to see how many sessions of PT dMacs has used, we paid for 10 as a package. Yes, Helia, he is the black lab mix - as I say, part garbage retriever also - with the bad back and hips and legs now.

Massage yesterday was very good - I would call if more of a chiropractic type adjustment for soft tissue as I feel like a balanced and aligned tire. He sends "homework" home also, to stretch the back on a small section of a pool noodle held perpendicular to the spine.

Service last night also very nice and very well attended (not many board members, however, in spite of a couple of reminder emails.) After services dh, ds and I had supper with a couple who are good friends. Even ds likes them, and allowed a hug to her. :o

Harriet's father was mentioned for yartzeit remembrance on his recent passing.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Off to work for me.

Kathryn, sorry that you are having some bad things happening.
Hopefully it gets better. I always try to find humor in things.

I got up about 20 minutes earlier than usual and got all my dailies done!

Hope I can keep it up.

Off to the shower.

Great day to all!

At the Aunt's house. Don't know where uncle is (he has severe dementia.) To ask would be to get in the way. I'm useless, can't lift (hernia surgery), am woozy (just took my pill) and can't drive so can't run errands (narcs).

I'm sitting on the back porch, surrounded by textiles from the basement. I will keep myself busy working on church services since there isn't anything else I can do to help.

Ds arrived 2 minutes after us. We each drove 2 hours but from opposite directions.

He can't believe he doesn't have a mask in the car (he should in case of emergency.) I had asked dh about stopping to buy masks and work gloves but dh pooh-poohed the idea. Geez, no idea whether there was sewage in the water that flooded in and since it has been 5 days there is likely mold but no-one is taking precautions.

DH and grson-16.5 came home. The Seaside, Oregon trip is cancelled. DH said his truck was smoking, the oil light came on, he wasn't taking chances getting stranded in Oregon. The truck was just tuned up. DH said maybe they put too much oil in. :?: So no Dad's Memorial Bench, no horse trough of my old horse, Bernadette, to use as a planter. I cried. Called Dsis, she said must not have meant to be. She'll try to keep it and move it from Oregon to Utah. Or sell it. I hope she doesn't sell them. Sentimental feelings are with them both. So got my cry over with, am better, and doing laundry, so the boys go home with clean clothes. This is their last day here.

Nancy, That's super about your chickens! :D

Sorry things aren't going right for you, Kathryn.

Twins', You'll have so much energy now with all that rest! :D

(((Dee))) and (((Harriet))).

I emailed Dson, how the Seaside trip was cancelled. He called, is coming to get his sons, so they're going home today instead of tomorrow!

Hello. Kathryn, maybe your just being there is supportive?

I am struggling here, nothing really to celebrate. Medicine I'm taking still hasn't kicked in. I have been tired ever since our little trip last weekend. I'm in survival mode here, just doing the necessary minimums so we don't drown in whatever and experience the Hoarders' crew at our door.

Yesterday I managed to get the kitchen cleaned up. I am fixing us some sort of food every day and out of necessity I am keeping the office work done. Yest. I ran an errand for DH, took back a pile of returns to H-D and ran through the drive-through bank. I got a few groceries and a card & gift card which I mailed off to DGSon on the way home. I was pleased how much I'd been able to accomplish, but that was all I could do all day.

Laundry is mostly caught up. 1 LOL to fold up, 1 is hanging up now. I did a few pieces of ironing so I could put those things away.

I was folding clothes last evening and said to DH I couldn't keep up like this and he said to stop folding stuff just put it in the drawers. I said, well everything will be very wrinkled then and he says so what, who cares?! I reminded him of his bachelor apartment and what shape it was in with his idea of housekeeping, and he agreed; still I don't rely on him for much help around here, at least inside. He can only manage to do what work he has to do and the outside stuff.

Anyway, I'm sorry to be so negative. That's why I haven't posted much. There are worse problems than mine. We will get through this and I will get over my frustration when things straighten out. Hopefully this medicine will start working soon.

Hello, villagers ~

Celebrating that I get to see some of my family today. :D My younger DSis has an annual summer party that she decorates in a Hawaiian luau theme, everyone dresses in wild colors and wears a lei. It's a pot luck supper and she provides soft drinks but everyone brings a cooler, too. The punch bowl gets to be dangerous as more people arrive and add rum and I don't know what all, so I usually try about half of a little glass when I first get there and then switch over to iced tea or water since I have a long drive home!

A bunch of family comes early in the party and we all have fun chatting and watching the little kids play. Then after 2-3 hours most of the family takes off to make room on the street for later arrivals to park.

Luckily DSis has wonderful neighbors and they all get along, plus she always invites all of them to the party, too, so she's never had a complaint about all the cars or noise. Actually I think it kind of turns into a block party, and DSis is good friends with several local police officers, so they swing through every now and then to make sure there aren't any problems.

DH refuses to go with me because he can't stand the crowd. Normally I would be uncomfortable with that many strangers, too. This party usually doesn't bother me, though ... I guess because it's DSis's annual luau and since I'm coming from out of town, nobody expects me to know very many people. I can make small talk with strangers in DSis's back yard, because there are always the little kids and DSis's flowers to admire, you know? :)

This is DSis's 14th annual luau, she pretty much has the preparations down to a routine. I'm going to try to go up early to help set up, because her newest granddaughters are toddlers now (3 of them!) and zoom around very quickly. I'm thinking an extra pair of eyes and hands for setting up tables, chairs, & decorations can't hurt.
