Simple Sunday here. Dh and I went to the local market this morning and bought fresh corn, peaches, and flowers, then a trip to specialty market for steaks for the grill and some other things. He was planning to mow the yard but I see it's raining again now. (Again?) I am going to do a round of tasks and then take a short nap since it's rainy.

-clear kitchen table

I leave for my mom's on Tue. I will be gone about 10 days. Need to be at the airport by about 5:30am. Its a no sweat kind of terminal. It will be a plane, train and car day for me. I like traveling so I'm sure I will enjoy the experience no matter what it brings.

I have a guest clothes where I hang am hanging my travel clothes as I get them ready. I also use the shelf to put other items that I want to bring. This makes packing stress free for me.

This will be my first trip home since the big storm. Thought much of my mom's area was not effected, the beach areas were. Don't know how I will react when I see everything. One of things I want to do for my mom is to drive her to the area where she grew up....its about 30 miles from where she lives now. Everything in her beach town was destroyed by the storm as well...including the Jenkins' Boardwalk where my mom worked as a teenager. The Jenkins family was one of the founding families of the town and my grandfather was very good friends with them. I have many childhood memories attached to the boardwalk. It is also a place where I took my son when he was little. Happy memories of 4 generations enjoying the cotton candy, kiddie rides and the smell of the ocean air.

Okay... I need to focus on what I need to do next.

Waving to y'all. I had great comments for all here, but they are now floating in cyberspace...plus those computer gremlins are peeking around my screen's corner. Also, Lawrence is impatiently holding back his camels waiting to charge. Gives new meaning to the words...Hold your horses....especially the kind with large humps, split toes and enormous nostrils, plus these "horses" are know to spit...ugghhhh, better get going.

I'm back from the berry patch this morning I got two gallons of black berries. Seems to me the berries are better this year or I'm earlier in getting out to pick them. Maybe the rain and hot weather have been just what the berries needed. Now I need to wash them and prep. them for the freezer. I need to get the freezer organized and the old fruit out to make room for the new stuff.

OMM; Reasearch phones xdil said she uses Straight talk you can go to Walmart or on line. She used to work at a place that sells phones so had a good handle on cheap plans with some tech. stuff.

I need to get h's work cloths in the wash.

I'm home and in bed.

We walked through the Cos tco and didn't get the two items we can't get here. So they are out of stock chain wide. No biggie. Did get the calendars the business sends out at Christmas. Last year I was ill when I normally pick them up in August and there was a scramble in Oct/Nov because they were out of stock by then at Cos tco and so expensive everywhere else.

Felt fine the whole time I was walking around which was odd because I was due for a pill.) Got into the car, ate my first my lunch (half a pb&b plus a few baked cheetos, plus milk) and all of sudden my back started to hurt. That's how the attacks start so I immediately pulled out the dilaudid and took two. Didn't finish my cheetos. Was 90 minutes from home and just sat still as I could. Put ice on my neck but realized my side was more sore so put the ice there instead.

My temp and BP are normal. The pain is actually all on my left side both front and back. Normal pancreas pain for me is under the bra band front and pack and includes nausea which I don't have.

I've unpacked my stuff completely and have gone to bed now. I slept a bit in the car and figure I'll probably go back to sleep soon since I have the baseball game on.

I just hope this passes. Dh is feeling guilty for taking me to Toronto. I'm upset but this time I have eaten NOTHING that isn't healthy and low fat and I've eaten very little so I haven't over stuffed myself. I'm sure this would have happened if I stayed home. With all the visiting yesterday, I still only walked 3600 steps for the whole day so I certainly wasn't overactive.

i did not expect to see all these anniversary wishes! Thank you!! DH and I are another one of those romantic couples around here lately...went to an antiques fair after church and then celebrated with lunch at Sheetz. If you don't have those in your area, it is a gas station/convenience store. They make good salads, believe it or not! This makes 34 years for us and as I tell my kids, the first 15 years were the hardest!

Sorry to see Kathryn is having more pain.

Nancy, I love blackberries. They rarely make it into a cobbler around here. I eat them as a snack. We have a few blueberry bushes, which we leave for the birds, as they are too sour.

Slept longer than I had planned - I set the time for the alarm but didn't hit the button to tell the alarm to come on so I slept just over two hours. I need to get busy...
-reboot laundry
-refill meds
-clear breakfast bar counter
-pay two bills for dsis' house
-cut up peaches for cobbler

And another round....
-get cobbler put together and in oven
-empty the dishwasher
-take out kitchen trash
-arrange flowers from market in vase
-add four things to running task list

Trip Down memory lane!
It's funny what I thought of with some solutide time picking berries today. I remembered picking beans in the Willimate Valley, it one of my first summer jobs when I was a teen. I did not make much money those few weeks.

We had to get up early like by five to catch the "bean bus" by six to get out the fields for picking. The "bean boss" aka foreman that was in charge of the workers, gave us instructions, we had fun goofing off and getting berries on each other, one kid put a gardner snake in the bean bin. I stated in another state with my mom's cousins family and I got to experience "city life". We went to the swimming hole and sang the latest country song hit by Kenny Rodgers at the play ground while we swang singing "Ruby don't take your love to town". We were pretty good singers at that time actually we could carry a tune.

Dishes are going.
Laundry h's work stuff is in the dryer.
Eggs have been boiled and are ready to peel.
95% of the berries have been washed froze and put up still waiting on the last few to flash freeze so I can bag them up. Yep yummy in the cobbler or crisp unfortunately I can't have so much of that these days so these might go to the chickens! LOL! I sure had fun picking them. Our hens do not seem to like frozen fruit treats maybe they get ice cream head too.

I got the undies returned I did not pay attn. and got the ones that were the wrong style I did that before I picked berries figured my hands would be all berry stained and I'd be frazzled looking by then! LOL!
