Lucy - have you tried running the "Clean Print Heads"? Sometimes the ink dries on the print heads and they need to be cleaned.

Just realized I never did post yesterday. Slept poorly Sat night and we decided that we would go to church. Had to 'book' out as soon as it was over as I needed to go by way of W mart. DGS1's birthday party was at 1 and I needed to buy guest passes and let people in. DDIL#1's surprise party was Saturday night. Thus we were both very tired by this morning. Had to be about 25 miles away for cardiac rehab for dh before 9 today. (He goes at 9 Mon & Wed mornings). His bp was very high on the treadmill. Discovered one reason a while ago (though his bp has been running too high anyway) -he never took his morning meds!
Has now so it should be down when dvisiting nurse comes in a while.
I've picked up through a little -though this ol' abode needs a deep cleaning. Maybe when I'm not running all the time? DD will be leaving to go back to FL before I know it and then it'll be up to me to watch dgs8 every day.
Dh wants to go somewhere Friday for our anniversary. I'm trying to figure out where -somewhere close by so we're not 200 miles from home. I'm thinking about perhaps going to the jello museum Friday then out to Batavia for dinner, come back home for the night and then maybe take a 'day trip' on Saturday -some place???? May drive to Amish part of southwestern NY on Saturday and just make a loop. Will see.........
Think I did get one medication straightened out with Med Co for dh. Kept saying it wasn't 'eligible' for processing yet. 30 day supply was prescribed on June 20th and he would have been OUT if Dr hadn't given us 10 sample tabs on Thursday. Now have to battle for 2 other meds that say the same thing -both filled back about that time for 30 days.
MT's suggestion is a good one, Nancy. Hope that does the trick for you.

Nancy, I have given up on sewing clothing for myself because it never seems to save anything - time, effort, money. HOWEVER - there is frustration for me because things purchased don't fit. I'm tired of choosing between nice-looking uncomfortables and rather ordinary-looking things that fit. So, yes, I will send good thoughts to you whether you shop or sew - best wishes.
Thanks for the heads-up about the imminent birth. I remember hearing something about the time of the announcement being already set, no matter what the time of the birth. In other words, they wait until that time - I was thinking 3:00 pm for me? But then I translate international times very poorly. I hope everything goes well for them.
Got the bday card in the mail with stickers of embarrassed puppies on the back (it is belated, smile).
Dd asked me to slow down on laundry so she could take a shower. Sigh.
Had oat bran hot cereal with wild blueberries for brunch.
My online calorie counter site has malfunctioned - they tried to update and now it won't remember people. So I'm writing a bunch of little notes on my journal page. If it never comes back, I'll just consider that a reason to stop online checking for a while. It could be that would actually save me time.
I'm trying to decide about returning a book I bought as a gift. It was purchased on amazon.com from a library that was fund-raising and I'm glad to support that. But it was billed as being signed by both authors, and is actually only signed by one, who wrote "To" someone above her signature. Since the other author's very simple name has no "T" in it, or even any letter that looks like a "T", I think I'm justified in saying they should have known she never signed it. There's a big difference between a double-author-signed book with no further inscription and a book one author inscribed to a fan's name.

No I'm not retired, just was the end of my "week".
Have called DH insurance and yes they are closing end of the year. Will be sending more info in the mail. Hoping it works out.
Working on laundry and dailies.

Harriet: that is disappointing and frustrating about the book.
Lucylee: no advice on printer except to google your problem and see if there's an idea on the internet. It was doing that that taught me a number of ways to stretch the live of the consumables on the church printer.
I'm back from the last Christmas in July singing we have to do. Had more energy at this one (stood the whole time.) Ate less since we are having a good dinner tonight. Picked up more fresh corn, fresh steaks (instead of frozen) and french bread.
Before showering, I worked outside in the back yard for 90 minutes so got a good pass done on the back gardens. Dh still has to go by with the wheelbarrow and pick up my piles of weeds but at least the first pass is done.
I'm exhausted now, legitimately so, and will have a rest. Haven't decided if I'll nap in my bed or in the shade structure. I have to change out of dress clothes regardless so will go do that now.

Think, now that I've gone to town for the mail, that I'll venture up on the hill and see how the laundry room is faring. If there are washers & dryers available will try to get 1 LOL done this afternoon. Think I'll take the car so dh can take the golf cart.
Trying to discourage dh from going to potluck tonight. I really don't feel like going and we've had non-stop partying/gathering since Friday. We both need some 'laid back' time.

Waaay off any topic
Anyone know anything about mattress sets for smaller-sized antique beds? I'm moving my Great-Aunt Virginia's white iron bed from my parents' house to my own for dd14's room. It was last moved about 1958, when my mother inherited it, as the first (and eventually, only) daughter to give birth to a daughter. (me) The iron frame has a nestling space for a box spring that is several inches smaller in both directions than the standard double-bed box spring.
Several companies, including one 3 towns away, do make custom-sized mattress sets that aren't too expensive ($160 extra fee for creating them, although just the simplest types, mixed reviews). Dstepson pointed out that if we double the height of the 1-inch wooden slats the box spring will ride above the entire frame anyway, and we can just use a normal mattress set without a problem. This would, in effect, become a platform bed, then, with no restraint or "frame" on the sides. The headboard and footboard (well, they're iron, but you know what I mean) would still serve that purpose at top and bottom.
Would you hold out for a correctly fitted mattress set that would be a few inches smaller all 'round, or just use a regular sized set, balanced above? Ideas I had for helping the set "float" on a platform without shifting to the side include rubber shelf liner between mattress and boxspring or brackets under the end of the slats, sticking up higher than the slats.

Darn! Why can't I ever remember it's not as bad as I anticipate it will be? At least that phone call is done and I can finally move on.

-start pulling together stuff to write for temple bulletin
-deal with 10 pieces of paper from ever overflowing basket
-make the bed
-brush and floss teeth (yes, I was really, really stuck)
Harriet, it would be easy to try dstepson's idea first before you have a custom mattress made. You could evaluate for appearance and whether it would stay in place and then decide.
