THURSDAY -almost the weekend

Load of laundry is on the line.

I'm over in the church office now. I cleaned out the email box of the secretary (there were 250 unread messages, mostly junk.) I've sent emails and re-recorded the church answering machine message to make it current.

So I'm progressing fairly well.

OKay how horrible. My church woes pale in comparison.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MR. & MRS. LISA B!

DH will take the grandsons to The Olive Garden to redeem a $25 gift card. Then, they'll go to Game Stop, so DH can redeem his Father's Day $25 gift card. After that, they'll hit Safeway for bananas, minced clams for the clam chowder and fresh-baked cornbread from Safeway. It's cake-like, sweet, stays together and doesn't crumble and fall apart like DH makes!

It's almost the weekend and the boys get wood Fri. with DH and DH's dfreind. Saturday we'll get laundry done, will pack up, and Sun. a.m. they go home. The next round of boys come Aug. 3.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Was starting to write good morning but realized it was too late for that greeting.

Looks like rain is coming again here.

I managed to get all my dailies done but didn't get all the weeklies done. Oh well, the world will not come to a stop. Did do a load of laundry this morning before one of the Dsons needed the washer. So that should make my Monday a little easier.

Checked on the chickens and they have water I gave them a few bird berries from the front yard. Today is a 7 egg day. I'm thinking deviled eggs are in our future.

They are paving one street over and the other access st. to our neighborhood so it's not a pleasant odor and heavy truck traffic today as well. We'll be glad when it's done. Don't have to go do any errands today is making my life easier.

Lunch was packed full of vegetables but they were so tasty that I didn't realize how many were being served in one meal. I made a big container of pica de gallo using food processor for the first time. I'm hooked! Although dicing up the vegetables by hand makes the dish look much more inviting, the food processor took 1/10 of the time.

I think my list started with 16 tasks this morning and I've done five. Shot off three emails and was on a roll when it was time to take dMacs to PT. She thinks he doing pretty well in spite of the recent weaknesses in his hips but suggested an ingenious harness that will support his back end and hopefully stop him pulling on the leash so much with front legs. And she had one that she loaned to us to try for the next week.

This is what it is, and the handle over the tushie allows one to assist when the back legs aren't cooperating...

Dr appt for me immediately after Macs PT - all well with two year follow up on melanoma. They will follow me one more year and after that I just need to call if I need them again.

I have chicken to grill for tonight and I'l make a salad with it, I hope. Ds' friend Z will be in town beginning tonight but we don't know when he'll make it over here. He does have two more households to visit (his Mom and his Dad's) while he's here.

-email re meeting last Tuesday and next Tuesday
-email to board re: meeting next month and "reading" assignment
-finish up excel worksheet, email budget that we met about on Tuesday
-write a thank you note re: dinner last night
-water plants and deadhead (not actually on list, sigh, but needs to be done.(

DH and both grsons were gone. I'd done stretches, towels were drying, when I was doing in-house walking, I looked up to see a charcoal LARGE coyote pounce on something in the brush, at our back drain field. He then, walked forward to the house, was even with the truck of DH's. I went out, told him to "Get OUT OUT HERE! SCAT!" He took about 4 steps FORWARD TO ME! I took 4 steps forward to him and shouted, "YOU'RE A COYOTE AND I DON'T LIKE COYOTES IN MY YARD, SO YOU GIT OUTTA HERE! GO NOW!" He looked at me like I was raving mad, mind you, but he did turn around and scatter back through the hole in the green belt between our neighbors' acreage of woods and ours. Boy, he was so dark and big. I was glad when DH got home!

I had submitted a short story to a national magazine, which can take up to 6 months to reply or reject, because there are 3 editors to go through. I got rejected after 5 months, after the executive editor declined to use the piece, but I'm SO HAPPY because I've gotten the privilege of finding out about an Australian market, who, too, wants stories of fiction romance from 100 - 800 words. So what this magazine here, in the states, rejects, I quickly submit to Australia. Now Australia has 2 mss, the American magazine has an additional one by me, so if it's rejected, it'll go to Australia, too. So I'm not broken-hearted. AND there are other markets in Great Britain, South Africa and Ireland, too. A wonderful writer friend, took 4 days, searching blogs, researching, and came up with a list of publishers who accept from American writers. How thoughtful and wonderful of her. I was so delighted to have her do this for me. What a doll!

The boys brought home break sticks from The Olive Garden. They brought corn bread, some pastries, bananas, and Greek yogurt. DH got himself a new XBOX used game and grandson-14 3/4 is teaching him how to play it. So cute. The other grandson-13 is in the bunny room, at the desk, with the door closed, writing in a composition notebook while he listens to music on his headset thing. 2 grandson writers in the family, me, and on my Mom's side of the family, my niece is taking journalism in college. My deceased father was a writer, so I guess it's in the blood. I have a cousin who writes cute things for a mountain-area newsletter, too. It's so neat to no longer feel so alone, so solitary, and feel these connections to others who also love to write. I was dreadfully feeling so solitary. I knew nobody who wrote and then, since 2005, my grandsons do, and on and on. It's so wonderful. And also, many pen pals are avid readers. That's great, too.

Youngest dgd & I planted some seeds she decided she wanted to do that today so we did it in the hot part of the day any way but had shade while we worked that made it nice at least and I watered the front after mowing earlier.

H. is home resting after his shower, I've rinsed out his shirt, we will do a town run after dgd is gone.

Chickens did not like bird berries the would much rather had kiddie cereal left overs LOL! spoiled or what?

Ivy your post reminds me I grabbed my walking stick at dusk when I saw there was a donkey out and walked behind it herding it homeward my apologies if I've already shared about that. Saw a doe and two half grown youngsters on my walk down the hill the other day that was fun.
