Kathryn, I'm so GLAD you feel like "you're back", too!
DH left at 7:45 a.m. to get the grsons 13 and 16.5. Tomorrow, DH takes the 16.5 grson with him to Seaside, OR to get my horse's trough-turned-planter and Dad's Memorial Bench. Grson can help drive, so the entire stretch isn't on DH's shoulders. He turns 72 in Oct. (DH) and he needs a break on longer trips.
It's cloudy, overcast, but will burn off to sunny 78* sunshine today. The upcoming days will be sunny for the guys working in the woods, too.
The laundry's done, the house is clean, so I'll crochet, read and write. It's nice to be caught up temporarily.
Have a great Saturday, Everybody!

Home from town. LO got his dream boots (has been wanting for months). I smiled because they are now "out of style" and were deeply discounted. Win-Win!
I had LO try on some jeans but didn't find any that fit better than brand/size he is wearing. If he keeps growing he will only have another month or so in this size. The store didn't have the brand (wrangler) he wears and the store brand and Levi's don't fit him right. I'm going to order online another pair of current brand size and also next size.
Before I left this morning, my main laptop started acting up. A few weeks ago, when I checked the admin log I saw where the hard drive was having errors. I knew it was on borrowed time, but got sidetracked and forgot about it. This time when the hard drive sent critical messages, it got my attention. I stopped by Sam's and picked up a Dell laptop they had in stock. It isn't the laptop of my dreams but should do everything I need. I want to make the switch in an orderly manner instead of emergency status. It takes me about a week to get everything set up like I want. Hopefully this laptop drive will hold on for another week while i switch all the files and software over to the new one.
Thinking outloud.....Hum....why should I switch files to new laptop? Instead I should move them to my cloud storage. Currently I've only got the last couple of years of data in the cloud. This seems like a good time to make the switch.

Switched over to new laptop. So far -
** Windows 8 has done its thing
** Configured to always connect to our wifi
** Apps are updated
** OS is in process of updating
** SHE site logged into and pinned to start and saved to favorite
Ahhhh....now I can come here easily so the important thing is done.

I made a little progress today, but it was still slow. I am tired; I even fell asleep accidentally for a few minutes this afternoon.
x JOG
x a.m. routine
x emails to arrange a meeting next week; still need to hear back from one person
x long email response to a social email from dsisil
x emailed back and forth with other band uniform parent re: spreadsheets for uniform fittings
x emailed instructions to all the parent volunteers who will be helping with the fittings
x phone call: a reference for dfriend in Calif.
x picked up dd15 from sleepover across town
x phone call and then emails re: picking up the baby shower cake next Saturday
I should still make another phone call or 2; they can also be done tomorrow or Monday. Load of towels is in the dryer now.
Dd17 is off again on babysitting gig #2 tonight. She said she didn't get much sleep at the other babysitting job since the tot woke up at 3 a.m. and she couldn't get him back to sleep.
Off to get dinner, just simple pasta (w/ homemade tomato sauce), salad, and rolls. I think we'll eat outside since it is so nice!!

Well, yes and No. IE10 browser seems to be very temperamental with this website. When I start browser from desktop, no problem. When I start browser from Metro is works about 50% of the time. Verrry strange. I typically use Chrome browser so won't tinker with this IE weirdness much longer.
I've been downloading the last 3 years of files to new laptop. The initial sync with Dropbox takes a couple hours. ....drumming fingers.....

Not as 'back' today as yesterday. Am also very sore now. My knee in particular. Will need to do a full round of physio before bed.
Eventually finished the services and printed them off. By then I decided to sit outside to do nails and read while they dried. Dh came out to fix my clothesline (the pulley axle gave out after 23 years yesterday, when I pulled hard to get the line moving as the rain came down.)
After ds left for work, we shut off the water and worked on getting the cartridge out of our kitchen tap. Success and off to the store we went with the pulley (to match the replacement) and the old cartridge (to swap for free under life-time warranty.) Picked up food for dinner tonight and tomorrow night (corn, schnitzel, fish, potatoes, french bread) and then came home.
The tap repair didn't go smoothly. The tap won't stay on when we lift the lever. According to the tap maker's webside FAQ that means the cartridge is defective. So we'll have to go through all this repair once more tomorrow, after ds leaves for work.
Cooked up a big dinner (high in fat, though so I'm hoping I won't get sick) and then I cleaned up and started in on the housework. Discovered ants coming in through the front door so put down poison and did some killing. Had to wait a bit on the floor washing because the water was still off at that point, but it got done. Settled back at my desk in the kitchen and spotted ants on my desk (40' from the front door but just 3' from the balcony door.) More poison, more killing. It is carnage here from the ants point of view.
Will head to bed now. The house is, for the moment, clean. Although I have to start the dishwasher so will do that before heading upstairs.
