Dee: Good catch on Bookie's problem. I've had the same issue myself but had forgotten about it. My big solution was to tell Bookie the messages weren't important!

I've made an invoice for my preaching. Most churches are prepared with a cheque but for new churches I take an invoice. Good thing I had one yesterday since they had not included mileage. In theory it would have been $28.70 but I was dropping it to $12.30. The invoice form I filled in came from someone in our lay leader group but it was as ugly as all get out. All caps (which screams at me) and so much white space that it spread over to two pages. I redid it without caps, bold where it was important, got it onto one page even with a note about my mileage policy and added a .jpg of my licensing card so it shows I'm official. It looks much more professional now.

Of course, that wasn't on my list of things to do today!

Speaking of being paid, the person who hired me at the retirement home was there yesterday and said that on the last Sunday of each month, my cheque is ready to be picked up at the front desk and if I forget, it is mailed. July's came in the mail but it is good to know I can pick it up. Didn't have as many people turn out for service yesterday as the week before but I still had the same number as I had at the real church.

It was again Desk Day for my parents' household. HRH came home for lunch and said he didn't even want to ask - so much spread out on the table, lol. One DPC, and all I got was a message machine. One call to a person I'd forgotten, ddad's hearing aid doctor, who had been informed by my aunt after all. She's also his patient. Ended up running out of stamps, so that needs to be added to errands. I usually keep up by ordering online, but things have gotten away from me.

Also did some calendaring.

Called dstepdil and the mother of a friend of dd's about party date.

Will need an errand run today: library, pharmacy 1, post office, possibly the pet place

as a matter of fact, yes, I just did an online detour and found a pet store a reasonable distance from the library, so that's do-able. So I'll arrange the order to pharmacy 1, post office, library, pet place. Thinking of another short cut, I could grab whatever stamps the pharmacy sells and just drop off instead of waiting in the post office line. But I really need correspondence stamps, too, and I'm so picky and eccentric .. ... it may be unthinkable.

Another dreaded online chore done, email of complaint I hated to write, but seller needs to know.

Today my mojo was to do some outside yard work while it was still cool outside. I've pruned bushes along the back fence and loaded then in the utility trailer. I also worked on getting some of the dead wood out of the the apple tree. I'm just hoping I did not use up all of my mojo.

The neighbor helped to round up a cat left behind by other neighbors he swore he was coming back; but it's been a month & did not; some friends said they did not have room and they said the owners story was the cat came with the house when they moved in it showed up and they started feeding it. The neighbor behind can pet it and called helping hands and they've found a place for it and have it captured. I fed it a few times but could not pet it as I was a stranger to it. So that's done.

Granny duty has begun. It's my off week of BabyN.

I'm here. I got home about an hour ago (a bit after 1 pm) from the band uniform fittings. We fit the last student around 11:45, but then the other band uniform parent and I met to go over all the students again. Then I went over the students a 2nd time with the band director and gave him the $$. Each kid needs to pay a $25 uniform cleaning fee. That may cover concert uniforms too, I'm not sure. We did fine, though we took notes of some things we can do to improve the system for next year. Our biggest mistake was that there were 3 kids who took their uniforms home without paying. The 3 slipped through the cracks in 3 different ways! But we tracked well enough that we know who they are and the band director has their names too. We fit and hopefully carefully recorded uniforms for 132 kids. . . *phew* This is not all the band students; the lowest band doesn't march and a couple students were gone today so they'll be fitted when they're back in town.

It is pouring rain now. I need to go to the groc. store, but I might indulge in a nap first. I am really tired; I woke up at 5 and didn't really ever settle back down to sleep.

Later today, Dh and I are helping dfriend A move into her new condo, maybe around 5 or 5:30? I'm not sure when dh will be done with work. I think A is going to treat us to dinner afterward. I'm not sure what the kids will do for supper then. Maybe the kids will come help too. . . Though ds isn't usually home from work until 6 pm.

I am now done with my 3 big events in a row! Saturday - baby shower for 37 guests. Sunday - host main pastor and his family for afternoon tea and snacks. Monday - fit and record uniforms for hs bands. Tomorrow's event will be the arrival of dfriend from out of town. Dfriend J will stay with us until Thursday afternoon. The house is in good shape, but I do need to prep the guest room, aka dd15's room. Dd15 sleeps in dd17's room and she'll be at band camp anyway.

I'm yawning and would like to take a short nap, but feel it's too late -- I wouldn't be able to sleep till after midnight tonight! I woke at 7 am, but watched news and weather till I got up at 8 am this morning.

We had a semi-quiet weekend. Saturday dfam#1 came for the first time in a month. It was good to see them, especially dgkids. Ddil was using crutches and had a soft cast on one of her ankles. Last week she had helped a friend move to another house and tripped on something in the street damaging the ligaments. Even with the crutches she did all right getting around. They brought their black lab, StevieB, with them, so our labs had company to entertain also! They all get along well. After dinner we played a few rounds of Mexican Train dominoes, lots of fun.

Sunday no company; dfam#2 was up in the country visiting ddil's dparents. Dgds stayed for this week. Ddil and ds came home Sunday evening as they had to go to work this morning. Ddil had to be at school to get classroom ready; our county's schools open next Monday. Dgd18's classes start the end of this month.

* I checked with court website for reporting instructions on Friday evening and I do not report this week but check in again this Friday --- two weeks down, one to go!

My motivation is ds#3 and family will be visiting from VA for Christmas holiday this Dec. I have planned out this focus round so as to have the house deep cleaned and neat and tidy by that time. Along with my normal routines I have made 16 3x5 cards called Special Projects that I want to finish by then. So far I have done two complete and started a third. This is long term and I'm hoping to get it all done!

Today is desk day and I just heard the mailman drive past out house.....

I think I'm not going to the groc. store after all. It is almost 5; I took a short nap, interrupted by dogs once and finally by dd15 asking me a question. .. I took care of some emails.

I'm drinking tea in hopes it will make me more alert. I'm going to finish the a.m. routine which didn't get done this a.m. as I was gathering things together for the uniform fittings and was out the door at 8.

Schools here cannot legally start until after Labor Day. That law was passed maybe 8 or 9 years ago. It's purpose was to give the tourist industry one last hurrah with Labor Day weekend. The big U here starts after Labor Day too.

DD's foot stress fracture appt went well - she is healed up but some continued pain is normal. I dropped her off, went to CVS and there were five people ahead of me. I waited close to an hour and the person who was being seen when I arrived was finished and left, and she was seeing next person. I came home and took an hour nap - as I said, I was up and down all night. After dkids appts and dd's hair appt I may go back.

Need to continue with kitchen clean up from last night.



Well, I didn't get this posted earlier. After I wrote this dkids and I went to see their doc, then to Starbucks. Dropped ds off and took dd for a haircut. It's been nice hanging out with them today - they are getting along well. After dd's haircut I went to another CVS M inute C linic and was seen pretty quickly and picked up scrips and home again.

My kitchen is still a mess from last night but I am giving myself more down time - I really don't feel well and I know I slept very poorly last night.

Happy for Twins' daughter. Twins', I'll mention probiotics to you, too, since I mentioned them to Dee yesterday. Those scripts will be taking all the happy bugs out of your system.

Interruption walking gingerly past me - note to self, I've got to get Tobias some kind of place to exist on or near my desk. He will put up with papers, spiral bindings, pens, books, anything to lie here, just to my right. The problem is he sometimes scares me if he jumps straight up onto the surface. This time he was careful but this morning I nearly went out of my skin. Of course, if he's hungry, he types.

Btw, Pats on the back to your neighborhood, Nancy, for properly providing for a left-behind pet. There are genuine fears and confusions for (not so) "dumb animals", and ya'll eased them for one small heart. Part of our pastor's sermon Sunday was on dominion over the earth.

Errands went well. Hmmm... ... they don't sell stamps at pharmacy 1 any more. Saw flyer on door of PO saying they now sell them at pharmacy 4. Oh well. I don't need pharmacy 4, so that's no help any more. Anyway, found the "Made in America" stamps at PO and they will suffice a while. Dd14 was surprised I would agree to black-and-white, but they are art, after all, and satisfy my deep-seated need to educate my envelope corners. Yay for finding closer Pet Store. This one does not have a customer card, so I'll check their prices and see if there's much difference.

I have made 16 3x5 cards called Special Projects

Sunny, could you give a few examples that are not too personal? Just to have an idea of how large you are allowing them to be while still considered one project, or how you are dividing large ones.

Next up will be shoes and boots organization in dd's room as we shift the canvas door-hangar for shoes to her room. Surely there's somewhere for boots... ...

Wow, Sunny, I'm curious what things you're hoping to accomplish by Christmas. 35 of them. Makes me faint just thinking of planning that much...
