And done with that round. I've been playing Time Slot Tetris in my head - decided to move the oil change for the car to tomorrow a.m. (if dh doesn't take my car to ATL) or Monday a.m. (if dh does take my car to ATL tomorrow.) Means I can have a.m. here at home which sounds good after the trip yesterday.
-clear breakfast bar counter
-laundry room clean up (dd left stuff behind....

she will need to sort for me later what goes to Goodwill and what stays at home)
-late breakfast
-straighten Master BR/bath
-scoop the poop in the backyard

I've been playing Time Slot Tetris in my head
LOL!! Perfect description!
I'm working on new timeslots for various activities. I know the more I do them, the faster I will become. But for now, I'm in the tweaking process......and not scoring very high in my Time Slot Tetris game.

HOWEVER - I am still thrilled with and celebrating the progress I am making toward a well played time slot game.
Next up -
** 15 minutes spent on weekly focus area (bathrooms)
** 45 minutes of CFO duties

HAPPY B-DAY TO HARRIET'S & HRH's DD TODAY! YEAH!
It's so FUN to see "FRIENDLY FRIDAY" up as our opener today!
DH is getting ready to get firewood with his buddy. The 2 grsons come from the 17th - 24th. Then, it's a grandson-free house for the rest of the year, until Christmas, when we all gather here.
I've made myself a task list of 10-minute jobs to do, then rest. I can't overdo and what's not done today, can be finished up tomorrow, while DH is driving up to get the boys because he'll be gone about 3 - 4 hours or so.
Yesterday, DH was trying to change a smoke detector battery in the hall. He finally got a different battery, which he thought was newer. The detector kept beeping, so DH drove 1.5 miles to the store for a new battery. Still, it'd beep, until DH figured out it was the WRONG smoke detector!
It was the main office one! DH calmly said, "Don't call a deaf man to come change your smoke detector!"
He's such a calm and patient man.
Everybody, have a wonderful Friendly Friday!

Grrr.....why is it that we always seem to be 'looking' for something?! Right now I'm looking for a letter (which I was sure I put in an upright 'pile' with things that needed to be done). This is the letter from the insurance company for dh's disability. If his disability was to extend beyond Sept 1st (which it surely is right now), then the Dr's office has to file for an extension.
Meantime I'm trying to clean spots. Have 'company' coming in 2 weeks. DBIL/DSIL will be here about Aug 30th. She called yesterday. Kind of tried to put it off for a bit, by telling her (the truth) that dh is still sleeping in the living room in the recliner. "Still?" Don't think they realize how sick dh has been all these weeks. The answer was, "Well, we're coming anyway." Our problem is that the couch that opens into the bed is opposite the recliner. Sure MT knows what we're talking about in space in an RV -even a park model. Sure dh will take to the bed -hoping he sleeps a lot better by then. Because if he isn't it's for sure I won't either. One good thing about them coming in 2 weeks -I won't have it still looming in the future.
Even DS-R made comments about his daunt not being like she was in her younger days and how extremely opinionated she is. Vent over. Do I feel better -not much.
Another friend from the campground is here spreading mulch around our deck for dh. DS-A had a dump truck load delivered a few days ago -rubber mulch. Dh feels so bad he can't do it himself, but knows he has to 'stroke' it.

Dh had called earlier to tell me he was meeting the guy who will do our fence. Dh and the fence guy have come and gone. They will be starting Monday. Dh has decided to let the guy do the 16 ft. gate also. The guy said he would make a 5 ft gate and then it will attach to the 11-12 ft gate. That way dh won't have to open the whole gate just to the the motorcycle out. The bigger part of the gate will have a wheel attached to support the gate and make it easier to open and shut. Dh said by the time bought the steel frame and pickets, he would have as much invested as the guy quoted, not counting the time involved.
We have decided we need to get guttering. Dh wants seamless, so we'll have to have that installed also. With all the rain we have had, it has really made the need for it obvious.
The fence guy asked about the fence on each side. The couple to the west of us have a restaurant /club business that they co-owned with someone else and have closed it. They have the building for sale. I am sure they are strapped for money because their sprinkler system froze on our last freeze and they haven't fixed that. So I know a fence is at the bottom of their list. The guy to the east of us, I am pretty sure it's at the bottom of his list also. So if the fence gets replaced anytime soon, unless the wind knocks it down, I am guessing we will be on our own.
I have a list in my head of things that need done outside this fall. Once that is done, then dh can start on my bathroom. Until then it is on hold.
I have a grocery list made, so I need to hit the shower.
I am going to the late movie tonight with both dds.

OKay, it's a popular game, isn't it? I'm trying to decide whether to squeeze in a trip to see my dsis on Monday when I take dd south for her court appearance on Tuesday. We'll have to spend the night in that area to be at the court house at 9 a.m. that morning.
A rain shower diverted me from the scooping, may try later when things have dried out.
-s2s (need to leave in a little more than an hour?)
-write ck for dcleaning lady
-update remember the milk li&ts (yesterday I forgot to take my cell phone on the trip, so while waiting for dd I entertained myself by making a written li&t.
-purge email box
-refill meds boxes

Dee, wow if things don't improve soon with your dh, his db and dsisil are going to be in for a rude awakening. I don't know why she can't accept the fact that his progress has been slow with set-backs. Grrrr.... I hope you find the paperwork that you need. I know how frustrating that can be. Lots of hugs!

Wow! That sounds like some fence, Lilac. 11-12 ft. high? Is it for security? We had newfangled gutters of some sort put on our house a couple years ago. They are better than our previous ones. We definitely need them b/c of rain. They do get clogged with tree debris and need to be cleaned out periodically, maybe 1x/year. But they handle the debris much better than the previous ones did; I think they have filters.
((Dee and Mr. Dee)) Will they really come if your dh is still so sick?? Can you make their visit conditional on dh's condition? --Or is that even helpful?
Your dh has a great sense of humor Ivy. I like people who are able to laugh at themselves and not take themselves so seriously. . . .at least not always.
Time Slot Tetris is a very apt description! I love it! I recognize it well. . . I lost that game this week by moving my Target run around too many times. Now, Lily and Maia are both completely out of their kibble. We managed this morning by giving Maia Pepper's weight control food. And Lily got wet cat food this morning. . ..
Kathryn may have some interest in this info since she has been to our home: they are building a nice shopping area very close to our neighborhood, across the busy road, and we now know some of the stores. It will have a North Face store (dh is happy!), Sur La Table(I'd like to look at their stuff), Anthropoligie (owned by Urban Outfitters), Madewell. lululemon athletica, Running Fit (a local running store - dh is happy about that!), and other stores which I can't remember (or find online) right now - plus at least one coffee shop, 1 restaurant which will be a 2nd site for a favorite downtown eatery, maybe a nice pizzeria, etc. It will be within very easy walking distance for us!! And a light has been put in at a certain intersection which makes it easier for us to get onto that busy road. The downside - we may get more traffic down our street. A lot of shopping areas have gone in close to our home since we bought it. There are pros and cons to that. Right now, I'm eager to see exactly what is there and go window-shopping at least.
I'm not a big shopper in general, but I'm very curious about these stores. I'm also curious is they'll be able to make it at this location.
I have eaten a brunch of sorts, 4 points. I'm going to finish my cup of tea and then head out to Target and the groc. store. WW said I was up 2.3 lbs. That is not as much as I had expected, actually. . . .
Off I go.

Dee: Tell them to quit being such cheapskates and get a motel room. DH is sick and you don't have time to entertain them. BE STRONG!! BE FIRM!! and don't wimp out. Their smoking makes you sick, her crabbing makes you uneasy and she isn't nice to your daughter. Why should you be nice to her????
Still chilly here. Temp went down to 58 and is now back to 60 but wind has come up.
DH is napping and I'm falling asleep over my book.

Dee - you deserve a medal for not responding to such rude comments! I suspect we all have family members like that and have learned that strong boundaries are a must. Your DH health trumps their sleeping arraignments. IMHO, they should go to hotel or stay with another family member.
