Don't interrupt the reading... LOL at Kathryn's post.
Took today off work to go spend time with my dad. It's a long weekend and I'm working Monday and Mike and I have plans for Saturday. Dd has been told to get up there and visit, so after a reminder this morning via text, she is going on Monday. (I know you are a busy 27 year old that lives in the city without a car, but come and get your car and go see your grandfather who has stage 4 Pancreatic cancer.)
My sister and I have been having wonderful talks this summer. It only took 50 years...

Got running around done this morning now home. I am looking at everything that needs to be done but I slept so poorly last night all I want to do is take a nap. I think I'll set the alarm and take a short one and then I can get up and get to work.

By the Crossroads of the Day I was exercising. Can't beat that.
A protein shake with fruit while I watched last night's recorded 20th anniv appearance of Bill Murray on The Late Show. He has a little bit of stage presence, I think. Just a little. The jackhammer may have been over the top, but riding onstage in the Rolls Royce was a nice touch. I think he had practiced with that cape (train?) for a while, because after belting out a hysterically terrible "I Will Always Love You", he flipped the cape into the air perfectly in front of Letterman's face as he swept away. Love the dog.
I've done the online stuff that hooks me in to the school system's new internet information site that gives parents all the info on their high schooler's days. Seems almost like a lack of privacy! If she sneezes, I may know about it first.
BookSaver, yes do stay hydrated. We have a couple ideas on the use of the room. I'm just not sure yet.
OKay, I would say if you could make it a Christmas gift, that's a good idea, because there's no telling how little time you may have later for shopping, or whether you may be at a loss for ideas.

I woke about 7:40 a.m. and got going on my day. DH is getting firewood. I'm awaiting the insurance co. to call back to see if they'll cover the Hep C screening or not. My Dr. said the CDC recommends this year that all "Baby Boomers" get screened. My nurse said if it's not covered, she won't put it on my lab orders. The insurance co. covers Hep. A & B screening though.
It's sunny, beautiful here today. I slept well. Got my exercise done this morning. After DH is done in the woods, I'll sort laundry to see if we need to do a load or two. Should dust the bedroom and great room, too.
It's hard to balance writing with the house and pen palling, too. DH said just do what I want, but I cannot cut myself off from the world to write story after story. He believes the pen palling is a good outlet where I can express myself and keep in contact with others. True. I'd hate to let old timer pals "go". But "balance" IS hard.
I don't know how much "flying" I'll do on "Flying Friday" today. I feel slow, although the exercise is out of the way.
Have a great day!

It is HOT out there - 101 yesterday and 94 today. Glad we got going early and can now rest at home. I still have to put the clean clothes away and make the bed but I'll do that later. It is to the point that I just put the bottom sheet on and have a light blanket at the foot. We seldom pull up the blanket.
I forgot to get baby powder!!!

Lots of heat rash in not comfy places here.

Home again. Face painting was easy. Just painted a pink circle on the cheeks of LO & classmates. They were excited to be in the parade. We passed out bags of candy for them to throw and ice cold bottles of water for them to drink to keep them hydrated. THANKFULLY the parade route is only about a mile long so it was over quickly because it was HOT (105 degrees).
LO is down for a nap.
I have things ready to take to the cook-out. I was gifted with bringing easy items this time - bags of chips, sliced tomatoes and sliced onions. Swimming bag is packed and ready to grab.

Had a good walk, no luck getting soap, the store was supposed to be open but wasn't so we took my picture in front of the closed store and I'll see if they'll eat the shipping costs if I order online since I spent the money to get to the store and it wasn't open.
Picked up my birthday present from ds and another 'preaching' cross (big, so only worn while preaching or working) and then came back. Walked over to the condo development and talked to the people there about renting. They have furnished apartments so we could leave our stuff in Ontario and rent there for 6 months as part of our adventure. Will think hard on that, especially if Unc is still alive.
Had an amazing lunch at the ferry building. The best fish and chips I've ever had, very light on the batter, really fresh fish. We ordered one serving to split between us and I regret that but then again I will have dinner early tonight so that made sense.
Walked back to the hotel and then visited with Unc until it was time to come to the airport. We were here way too early but I get antsy so needed to get here.
My computer failed to shut down after showing pictures to my uncle so the battery was dead. Found a place to plug in and I have half battery now. Unfortunately, lost my work on the service yesterday.
Our winter cruise has been confirmed now, they finally moved us to a cabin I want (I wasn't about to pay for one I didn't want so had my agent looking on other ships.)
Next two weeks are going to be insane. Lots of meetings for me and other expectations. Not sure what will give, but something will have to.

Another busy day around here ... running errands, had to go by the school, got the oil changed in SUV... just lots of "stuff"
Waiting for dh to be ready to go to high school football game. DS is going with us. DDIL is staying home w/dgs. Then tomorrow, ds, ddil, and dh are going to college football game & I am babysitting.
I am pleased to report I walked 2 miles this morning before starting in on all the busy-ness of the day. That makes two days in a row. * Y'all can sit down now, there's no need for a standing ovation or anything.
Gotta go. See y'all later!

Post and run, we are having a great week at the beach. Very good weather, lots of beach time and good friends. She was temple prez before me, but we've known them probably 25 years. The dh of this couple is a CPA that I worked w at one time and our kids grew up together. Their ds s a good friend of our ds.
They are heading home tomorrow and we go home on Sunday.
