-start challah in breadmaker
-make the bed

Hi Everyone!

Visiting nurse just left. Dh says he feels so-so today. BP was a little low and pain meds made his tummy upset. We leave in a half hour for cardio dr visit and inr check. Can't help thinking of Dee & dh. Sure wish both of our dh felt better!

A quick lunch is done; I just have to comb my hair again and fix a little makeup and I'll be ready to go. I kind of like nurses (or someone else) being here in the morning. I can't dilly-dally around getting routines done first thing and it frees up time for other possibilities later instead of having to rush through something.

let dogs out then put dMinnie in crate.
fix hair/makeup
gather papers to take to dr. office
bring rubbish can up from curb on our way out

Done again, this finishes a.m. routine except for s2s, which I will do later, and clear the breakfast bar where my computer is. I also started the dishwasher.

-Prelim bkfast bar clearing - everything except for my computer, etc.
-straighten up MBR and bath
-back patio while it's still mostly in the shade (vacuum the rug, dust and get rid of a few cobwebs, put a tablecloth on that table to serve cheese tray out there?)
-see if I can quickly "recover" a small footstool w fabric with the staple gun.
-take IKEA shelf upstairs

I will try to get some things done here with my sheville friends, Hello all. dishes from the lasagna washing themselves and the lasagna is waiting to be cooked for tonight.

I have to leave at 2:15 so that's about 2 hours just for dailies and dark laundry and towels.

I wondered why Thursday was "Favorite day". Is it because it's near Friday and the weekend?

So far I've:
- s2s
- moisturizer, eyebrows
- made bed
- breakfast, meds, supplements
- QVAR inhale
- put dirty clothes into the laundry basket
- did yoga/stretching
- am working on a letter
- worked on my calendar

Later to do:
- peak flow meter
- another letter
- walking
- read
- dark laundry
- need to declutter and add order to my end table

I've pulled stuff out and now need to do a round of policing up, also need to scoop the poop in the back yard. I'm aiming to shower at 4 and I'll start the apple dessert after that; it would be nice for it to be a little warm to serve.

It's okay. I think it's just because I have an extra million things cubby-holed in my brain since then. Each decade finds me multiplying my knowledge, if not my ability to put it all into action efficiently. That part is staying the same, so I feel some discouragement. The "I coulds" are many. And each one true.

"Reverse Morning" was a fun attitude adjustment. Dd and I went to McDonald's for breakfast and then had time to stop in to the grocery, all in the dark of such a soft September morning. I think she just needed something different.

TaDas from yesterday - library and picked up 2 of the English reading books. The third is so far back on hold that she is still 6th in line.

TaDas today - finished compiling the big envelope of many copies and the notarized documents, and took that to the P.O. Also pharmacy 3 errand.

Letter from dcousin94 - opened and read, privately this a.m. after returning from school run. Teared up a little with 1st paragraph and then again at end. 2-page handwritten letter on notebook paper. Lovely outpouring of sympathy mixed with family history, expressions of love for my dmother, dgrandmother, scripture. Just a great kindness for her to put this effort onto paper. .... See? I knew it would be hard on me! Wouldn't trade it for the world, of course.

Wow, Kathryn, beside your local fire dept? Jeepers, quite a concern.

blessed, the dishwasher repairman (the 1st of 2 who came) said I was probably pre-rinseing my dishes too much. Said for instance, a pan of lasagne - don't pre-rinse so much, let it go on through the cycle. ??? My experience has been that that would be the dumbest thing ever, asking way too much of a dishwasher. Anyway, he said if a dishwasher doesn't have enough to wash off, it actually won't clean as efficiently. I can't help but think that was just another way of saying, "It can't be the manufacturer's fault that you have troubles, it must be yours." and finding something that I was doing wrong.

Cowinkie, in H and F posts about Cruise's book from me again. I'm rereading, trying to understand better, putting some into practice. I hope your migraine is far in the rear-view mirror now.

When I was little, Thursdays used to be my favorite day of the week - b/c it was the day before the weekend started. Somehow, the anticipation of the weekend was more fun than the weekend itself - or something.

Hmmm... just saw that someone said something about me - maybe hosting dinner parties? You all have to understand that we often have very good friends over, like family, and so we don't fuss with the state of the house. Dh has trained me in this - over many years. Many of you would never ever consider hosting a dinner party with your house the state ours is in - with the living room rug caked in dog hair or the coffee table invisible under piles of books and folders and magazines, etc. In fact, we often put our "guests" to work, helping set the table and helping clean up. If they eat with us regularly, like every Thursday, we figure they can help with clean up regularly -- just like family. We do try to cook nicely for them but are not above a casual meal from time to time. Dh claims the priorities are: 1st - fellowship - conversations, reaching out to our guests; 2nd - food, good quality is the aim; and 3rd - house cleanliness. It bothers me to have guests go to a dirty bathroom, so I usually make sure that room is OK.

Today, I was out the door at 8:20 (late) and back in the door at 2:20 pm. I went to moms group - did set up beforehand, moms group meeting, helped put away and clean up afterward, including the children's classrooms. Then, we had a meeting to create the small groups. We have 6 small groups of 8 - 10 women each. We usually get some attrition. The tables in the room are too small to fit more than 8 around them. And a large number of the women have babies with them. We'll see how that works out. The room has been very crowded these last 2 weeks with car seats and strollers - and babies. That's a good thing! That meeting was over around 1:40. I stopped by a pet store to get hay and vitamin c tabs for the g. pigs. Chatted with the girls a little, checked emails, created a list - and then was off to the groc. store for salmon and asparagus + fixings for tonight. We should have 7 for dinner tonight, but this is our standard Th. dinner crowd - and we don't worry too much about the state of the house. Dfriend S and Dfriend physics prof. (female) won't be here tonight, so we're down 2. Not sure if Mr. Physics will be here or not. . . .I think R will be here.

I may rest for a bit before starting to cook.

Helia: Our church musician and her dh have the same attitude as your dh. And we often have to find places to pile the contents of the table before sitting down to a meal there (or we give up and all sit in chairs in the living room.) I know the kitchen well enough that during choir I'm sent in to get whatever it is she meant to serve and didn't get around to serving. It is almost always a disaster. But aside from being filled to overflowing with the things the boys have left aside, dishes that are dumped in the sink because they are rushing off to the next activity, and food options (breads, fruit, teas as well as a delicious meal slow cooking on the stove or the crock pot), the room also feels filled with love.

And these are the people we are selling our home to, so it excites me that our house will be filled with such love and hospitality.
