The costumes sound really cute, Helia. What creative kids! We never got to dress up in HS band!
Trying to restart my day....I'm giving myself to TOTH to do a little straightening up here, and then will head out to dmom's. I got in a pretty good nap, hoping now I can sleep tonight, tho.
Ellizabeth, dd had a broken foot last spring into summer and also just wore a boot. She said that at camp she did get a lot of rides in the golf carts that the camp director and unit heads use when she was booted.

Sadie is having trouble posting and asked me to post this for her...
From Sadie:
Hello Dear Ladies,
Sunny here but cool. We haven't turned our heat on yet but DH starts a small wood fire and then lets it go out. It's enough to take the chill off.
Still having shoulder problem but think it is getting a bit better. Have thought about going to the doctor but I really don't want to get started on something--x-rays, mri and then be told get some rest and take advil. My insurance gives us a 500.00 credit to use before we have to start paying for everything ourselves and meet the deductible. Have used up the credit and am now in the gap where I'll have to pay for everything and it won't add up to the deductible. So for now I'll just follow advise from the internet, which is rest, advil, light activity. I don't want to do too much because I use my other arm a lot more and then that one will be hurting too.
Told DH that I was depressed over my shoulder and not being able to do all that is needed to do around here. He reminded me of what I tell him whenever his back is down. I tell him to just take it easy, it's part of growing old and he'll feel better after awhile. I remember telling Dmom that same thing whenever she would go through a flare up with her arthritis. So I guess I need to take my own advise and just relax with it.
LucyLee, from what I've seen on the ObamaCare website, you have choices from regular insurance companies. DH has a choice of 5 companies all with different plans and prices. I called our doctor to see if they accept any of these. Four of them they did and the fifth one they weren't sure of. That company is out of Kansas, the doctor takes the same company out of Oklahoma and they didn't know if they were the same company.
And you have to make a certain amount to qualify for the subsidy. You can't be below the poverty level. Then the subsidy is based on family size and age. DH got more of a subsidy when I put his age at 60 rather than the default age of 21. Hope this helps your son and daughter-in-law.
Well going to take a shower and then do very little before heading off to work.
Great day to all!

Hi everyone. Just got the news that I probably won't have a job by the end of the year. Hope your day goes better than mine.
Ivy and helia and anyone else who missed the broken foot incident: Oct 16 after Bible study, I missed a step in the dark and broke my foot. At first I was told that it was not broken, then the podiatrist re-examined the x-rays and said it was.
DD11 is coming at 6:00 am tomorrow, but has agreed to go back to bed. XDH will pick her up at 4:00 for a Halloween event. I don't know if she is coming back early Saturday or late Friday (my preference is the latter).

Elizabeth, Thanks for the update on how you broke your foot. I hope it heals quickly, and good, so you won't feel arthritis or pain in it after it's healed, too.
Listened to Josh Groban music, rubber stamped some envelopes, wrote in 2 journals, and rested. Later, I had a snack and iced tea. Now I'm writing a letter. I found an inspirational poem, which I'll post at J's & C's.

I'm alive.
It has been a busy day.
Did the bike in the morning, then s2s, quick breakfast and off to church office. Worked there (and had work to do today), then grabbed a sandwich for lunch, then a meeting of the Faith Formation committee to plan Christmas Eve Family Service. I had some ideas, they've told me what they want in the service and I'll write it up and give it to them for approval.
On the way to the church office the Check Engine light came on in the car. So dh phoned the dealership on my behalf and I had to go in after my meeting. I dropped stuff off at my senior friend's house, came home and checked the garage floor for discharges from the car (none), double checked the gas cap (might have been loose), then went and returned the videos before driving into city to the dealership. The codes point to loose gas cap so she reset the light and we'll hope for the best. Dh and I had used a full-service gas station last, so that very well could be the problem.
Picked up dh's drink from the Chinese grocer, bought a new power head for the vacuum and then picked up dh's dinner on the way home while he made mine.
I've been dealing with email since getting home.
It is a cold and miserable night. Power went off for a moment. Apparently they had a lot of snow at my minister friend's town. Hope it melts by Sunday!
I'm yawning like crazy but not trying to stay awake because dh has to go to bed early (and get up at 3 for a meeting with Europeans). I'm going to bed with him!
Must get the dishes done up and the garbage ready to go out. Tomorrow is garbage day.

Deep clean of dining room here, even though I'm a little early on that as far as Focus. Company coming tomorrow and it does me good to have that area finished. Continuing Focus clean of living room. Some work in kitchen. Front bathroom needs a little more.
At my parent's house, changed master linens, cleaned tub, made up a tall kitchen trash bag of throw-away. Decluttered in the mud room. Laundered a super-nice man's jacket that's driping-dry now. I'm not sure if it's a donation or if one of the children will claim it.

Ds left behind a lot of Vector cereal so I'm hoping I can turn it into cereal bars. Melted marshmallows, peanut butter and chocolate chips, added in the cereal and am now cooling and hoping for the best.
