Leaves are dealt with...probably will be doing that a few more times as only about one-third of leaves are down, so far. Dh cut grass and put out old fertilizer just to get rid of it. He is sleeping like a baby now. All the fresh air must have worn him out!

I emptied the bathroom so he can sand the walls in there later. We will slap some paint on and call it good. I told him we don't need perfection, just improvement! He doesn't like to hear that... I just don't want him sanding forever.

Sorry about Harmony's back and Elizabeth'sfoot and Ivy's rough night. Haven't seen CathyS's news. Must catch up sometime in J&C. Waves to blessed, Okay, and twins.

Need to unload dw next and start one lol.

Have noticed that everyday around 2pm, we get the most beautiful burst of sun on a side of the house that used to be always shady. That is thanks to the trees we cut down this summer. I love the change!

Haven't seen AFlyer in ages but wishing her & her dh a Happy Anniversary -just in case.

Haven't been on in a couple of days. Been very under the weather with a dumb cold. Been sleeping in the recliner since last Saturday. Enough already! Mainly the cough & congestion. Hoping to be on the upswing soon. Have to get ready to go south.
We went to church for our Smorgasbord tonight & dh was telling people we are leaving "Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday". That's all pretty definite. Have to feel a lot better before I even start preparing.

Dh has been out in the cold & extreme wind all day. Praying he neither catches my cold or succumbs to the cold.

Think I'll quit for now. I am back tracking on just about every word!! Not working well tonight.

Alive. Busy.

Workshops today in the city. I was helping with registration so got there early. Did one on Messy Church and another on Life Cycles of a Congregation.

Picked up groceries on the way home. I have fruit to make up a fruit tray for tomorrow's pot luck.

Got home, put things away, had dinner (heated leftover pizza) and then got an idea for my sermon. Got to work on that (not actual writing, more research) and then there were two phone calls. First was a quickie. The second from ds.

Turns out money issues are three fold. First things are more expensive than planned because camp grounds charge extra for extra people so their camping costs are doubled what they budgeted when at a campground (and they have to be there at least 1 night out of 3 in order to recharge batteries and refill things.) It basically raises their estimated daily costs by 30%.

Secondly, he can't transfer money from his bank account to Australia (that bank doesn't really do international banking). So he'll have to email me the money and have me wire it to him. (BTW: wire transfers are friggin expensive but he doesn't know that yet.)

Finally, he can't do that until he gets access to internet. His phone internet is almost gone and he has no way of accessing more without money and he's short of that too. Without internet, he can't transfer the money to me or send me the details on where to send the money to him. So he's between a rock and hard place right now. And, in the small towns there are no places that have free wifi. Even when there are McD's most of them don't have functioning internet.

Ironically, he called me using his cell phone instead of Skyping because he has lots of minutes for phone calls left but no internet.

Hopefully, we'll figure this all out quickly.

Now I'm back to work on the sermon.

Good news: My back is better and DH and I weeded (using a propane torch) the outside of the fence yard.

Bad news: My credit card was lost somewhere between York, NE and home.

Good news: No one used it so I cancelled and replaced it.

The weeds all over our yard are about 6 inches tall. They are now going to seed so burning them does two things - gets rid of them and their seeds. We have done the 14 foot easement around the north and east side of the yard (we are on the corner). It turned too dark to see what we were doing about the time our oomph gave out.

We will work on it again Monday or Tuesday as the shade moved around the yard. Then I will get a big bag of rock salt to put on the easement for sure. We can never plant there so the salt should help keep the weeds down.

Wednesday, I am having a Lawn (ha - my lawn is sand and rocks) Care Man come out to trim the trees and probably take one out. It is misshapen and drips black sap all over (which is a sign of a virus). I want to plant a lemon and an orange tree by the back porch - so the bad tree has to go.

Time to go figure out what to wear to church. Oh! I also made a standing appointment for a massage every Friday.

Update - sorry can't CUOP as I am racing through life

The 3 oldest grandchildren won "Best Group Costume" trophy at the big midday Park and Recreation Halloween Fair today. They were "The Minions". Dd had come up with cute perfect identical costumes. Very proud of DangerBoy for putting up with this for his brothers and Mom. Not exactly an exciting superhero this year.

My green-eyed boy led me a merry chase most of the midday.

Then the church doin's and hayride. Spooky hayride was spooky to me because those steep hills way back in the dark woods are hard on the tractor and I hear the chugging and really know what it means, while others are just chatting along! Oh well, we made it. Glad to report we saw people we knew, with whom dd33 could reconnect: 4 families and the tractor driver, so I think that is a real record as of late.

Now that MT has canceled the credit card, it will show up. Glad to hear it wasn't used by others. Lost, I can accept. Stolen, I'm not as good with!

I've finished the first draft of the sermon. I'd like a polished, finished, service by now, but a first draft of the sermon, and a rough children's story will have to be enough.

Off to bed now. Not too late. Tomorrow is another long day. I'm driving 2 hours to church (my holiday, I get to just worship!), then a potluck lunch (it is their anniversary service) and then back here for a Ribfest night at the second church. No cooking for me tomorrow although I'll have to prepare a fruit tray.

Good night all!

It's 8:37 p.m. and I'm doing laundry. My comfy panties were in the laundry basket and I "hate" the back-up pairs.  I'm trying to finish my evening routine before bedtime, too.

DH is watching The World Series and The Oregon Ducks at the same time by flipping back and forth. Men. :)

I have a day runner by Helen Steiner Rice which begins Nov. 1/Dec. and into all of 2014. There are to do lists, places for goals, etc.. So I want to add items by pencil to get plans done ahead.
