You know that thing that you plug in and it gets hot? They always have a matching board. I actually used mine today! It might take me a few hours to get over it. I might need to go lay down for a while.
Other than that, I did some dusting and I took all my stuff into the spare room and put it all on the table. Now all the mess is Mike's.
I still need to do laundry. (That other thing was to do something I thought Mike was taking with us. He changed his mind...)

Cowinkie, thank you for letting me know dh and I aren't just anal. When I talked to dd2 awhile ago I told her that if they weren't cleaning up everyday, I would. She thanked me over and over for offering to do that. It's not like it will be a never ending job. I am just thinking of all the cleaning I have already done. As long as it is just surface cleaning and isn't seeping into drawers and cabinets, I can live with it. Guess I will have to live with it either way.
I have dh's vehicle vacuumed out, wiped down and washed the windshield. I was going to top off his gas tank, but ended up calling him and he said it wasn't necessary. He thanked me for cleaning it out. I had told him I would last weekend. He was going to do it, but I knew if I used it I would need to redo it, so why should we both do it?
The wind wasn't blowing while I working on the SUV. Once I started raking, it started blowing. Our neighbor has a large tree that I think is a cottonwood. The leaves are huge, thick and firm. A bunch had blown off and piled up next to our fence and his. His juts out, so it just trapped them. I raked the worst of it. I am not mowing until his tree is done. Maybe with the wind blowing, they will go somewhere besides my yard.
Guess I better get something ironed, so that I can shower and run 4 errands.

((Cathy)) don't push yourself too hard after such exertion, dear. You need recovery time.
helia, she sounds like an ideal houseguest. My dcousinMary has hosted two of her dh's nieces from Germany for their various educational or professional stepping-stones here and has always been grateful to have them around. It's easy to begin thinking of them as part of the household because they so remind her of her dh. So glad dd18 is back to a more normal afternoon and feeling well enough for school.
Happy for Norma and Cowinkie, thinking of some fun together soon. We did such an excellent job of introductions there.
Lynlee, so glad to hear you have risen the the occasion of the clothesline. My knees were doing something sort of catch-y painful on Monday when I exercised, but I noticed yesterday it was gone and believe me, I rejoiced at that.
((Lilac)) you might do those girls a favor by giving all this info to the police. I wonder if others have heard about this. How beneficial to them if they had to make amends in some way. I truly wish you would find out that they are legit in some strange way.

Cowinkie and Lilac, our contractor is the same way, cleans up after himself as much as possible each day, which was helpful when we had 3 younger kids running around. I remember dh saying that was one of the things he liked about him. We're in between home projects right now. I think we redid our bedroom and upstairs bathrooms one (or 2?) years ago. I think the kitchen will be next - and that will be pretty disruptive to our lives. We do need to have the wood floors sanded and sealed at some point.
Off to Walgreens for a couple items and then I'll prep for tutoring.

Hello, villagers ~
Welcome to our newest members Lovemykids and Manateemum, and belated Happy Anniversary wishes to
Harriet & HRH.
I've had my fingers on the keyboard & mouse most of the day, working on Emails and year-end things for the sewing group. Nice to think of all of these things that I will not have to be responsible for next year.
I think I'm going to take a real break before I start errands, and go have lunch at the local truck stop. I'll take a book and relax while I eat.
We are sunny and warm today. Should be a beautiful drive to The Big City. Forecast is back to cold rain all weekend, so I want to enjoy at least a little of the outdoors today, even if it's just driving to the grocery store.

Hello everyone!!!
It is a cold, rainy day here, and I will be quite content to curl up on the couch and watch educational tv for just as long as dgs will allow it! Brrr….
I was letting him run all over the house and scatter things everywhere – that’s his favorite thing. There are some books in the baby room and some plastic cups in the kitchen cabinet and he knows he can play with those. So he takes them and moves them all over the house. * sigh *
But I had to put him in the playpen b/c I HAD to go to the bathroom. He’s beginning to protest a bit already…
Had to report… sadly… dmom did NOT make out a list yesterday. She said it was too depressing. She did stack up the stuff that she said absolutely, positively HAD TO be done today, and she has that sitting right beside her coffee maker. The coffee maker is one thing she keeps her appointment with every day, LOL. So she called last night to tell me she was going to bed relatively early, and she would get these things done today.
I shouldn’t complain. I’m not doing anything, either. I just keep shuffling my cards. I could get work in Las Vegas.
However -- last night I did straighten out and reorganize my recipe book shelf, and recipe box, and made out a sort-of plan for Tgiving week. I'll have to check w/dmom re: some time frames, but I'm getting this all under control. I think.
I also wrote out a quote on cardstock that dmom wanted me to do for her.
(It's the passage from GWTW that describes Ellen O'Hara, "a great lady" and ends with the line: "Scarlett wanted very much to be like her mother." I gave that to dmom years and years ago, b/c she IS Ellen O'Hara in my mind, but she said somehow over time, she had misplaced it, and wanted me to do another for her.)

I realized this morning that it might be possible to get my fasting bloodwork done before going on field trip. So when I finished cooking breakfast I put mine into a covered dish and headed out the door. When I arrived at hospital outpatient clinic, I was surprised but thrilled to see there was not a waiting line. I had hit it just right. Within minutes of my arrival there was a dozen people in line behind me.
Field trip was fun. Most of it was outdoors in the bright sunshine although it was chilly enough that we still needed our coats.
Made a trip to Sam's and now the freezer is bulging. While I was checking out at Sam's, I received phone call with time/date of my followup ultrasound. I jotted the information down then finished paying for my purchases. Afterwards I realized that time/date would not work so I need to call hospital scheduling office and get another date for it.
Bought two more Christmas gifts. I need to pull all of the gifts I have bought out of the "hiding" place and make sure they are all written down on my list. Sometimes I get in a hurry to hide them from LO that I could have missed writing some down. I might be getting close to having all the DGChildren Christmas gifts bought. I've had male Grandchildren for so long that my mind seems to migrate to boy things. It wouldn't surprise me to discover that I haven't bought as much for the two DGDaughters. I need to tally each DGChild gifts up and make sure they are level across the whole group. OH and for the first time in my life, I should have a Great Granddaughter this Christmas. Lots of drama in the relationship between her parents (DGS18), but I'm attempting to ignore the drama and just focusing on DGGD.

Harriet, I called McDonald's last night and she gave me the number of the local business office for them. I called today and left a message. The female owner called. As far as she knows it is a scam. She was going to tell her husband. She said she would check with another gal on Monday to confirm it is a scam. If so, she or I will call the police. She didn't want to until she is sure. She asked for my address and I thought she was asking so she would know the area, instead she is sending me a card. I told her that that is not why I called and she said she realized that but it was just a thank you. Which I think is very nice. I told her that the girls acted so innocent and sweet, that I didn't see the red flag. I am still just dismayed that kids that age can be con artists. I will be watching for them when I am out in public.
I ran my errands and when I came home, dh had called. I called him back and there was something he wanted me to pick up, so guess I will make another trip out.
