:D :D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, NORMA & MR. GUY!

:D :D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MT AND MR. MT!

I got up at 9 a.m. I've:
- s2s, eaten, had coffee, etc..
- made the bed with DH
- fixed our coffee, sealing it with a kiss. ♥ ♥ (Just a habit now, which we do.) :) :)
- put dirty clothes into the laundry basket
- hung up numerous clothes and put leg warmers and folded hand towels away. Clutter-bug me!
- played with my Tutu.
- Gave Tutu water

Currently, I'm writing a good friend, who's a poet, some info where to submit poetry and about on-line sites to post poetry or which will direct her to them, if she goes on-line to them. It's wonderful how she asked me about this because I've got oodles of info I'm writing for her. She's been a Dfriend for about 10 years, we met through a Christian crochet website, and she's an LPN, crochets for extra money in her spare time and writes poems. She's never mentioned submitting for $$, but I've got one market for her, which pays $300 per NON-rhyming poems, has contests, with a $ prize, and also if they publish a poem into one of their books, it's $50 for one time pay. They're Blue Mountain Arts, Inc. and do beautiful cards and books. I've always been rejected! :!:  But I'm a RHYMING poet or Haiku, (Haiku doesn't rhyme though) and cannot get the "hang" of free verse. I'm all thumbs, when I write/submit it, don't know what's wrong with me, and gave up. But now that my dfriend's asking for sites, I'm getting the "itch" to research how to write free verse, to get out my 2 poetry books on how to write various poems, and read on them, in my spare time. SPARE TIME? I also have 2 Blue Mountain Arts, Inc. poetry books here, to study, and can re-read their contest entries and winning poems at their site, to get the "feel" for free verse. At least I'm able to write rhyming poems for kids' publications. So I'm not wasting my talent. I have the goal to master free verse now. If my dfriend can do it, then so can I. If I can master a short story, then I can master free verse poems. :!:

I shaved in the shower, dried off, and put on Coconut Lime Shea Butter all over my arms and legs. I dressed, but went barefooted into the great room, to the sofa, to put on socks and shoes. Tutu came over to me, licking, sniffing my coconut lime scented legs and after I got one shoe on, she put her head on my shoe and kept rubbing her head back and forth, like she was getting "high" off the scent. It was so funny! She's been so cute today, running, and we have wood fir floors with 2 area rugs. So when she runs fast, she skids around corners, like a cartoon character and we had skid marks on our floors from her, but DH said the whole idea of fir floors is to let them age, get scratches and mars, etc.. because they give them personality.

(((MT))) I hope you're enjoying reading and want you to start feeling better, too. :D

Kathryn, Do you have a wrist brace? :?: Mine help. I have 2 kinds.

Twins', If you go the way of built-ins, they're really nice! :!:  My MIL had them in her home, which added so much organization for books, displays, etc... She had them in her family room, shelves built in the spare room to make it a library, in the utility room, and a big storage cabinet in her master bedroom. She didn't stop there. She got walls on one or two sides of her garage, too. It was worth the money, she had so much storage, and I believe it helped sell her home, for us, after her death, too. They're very handy and look nice, too.

Dee, I hope you'll find that email you need.

Lucylee, Sorry your dmom got dizzy from the loud sounds at the theater, so hoping she can manage that concert. I guess she'll need to excuse herself, to recoup in the lobby or stand out there where it's not quite as loud, to keep from getting dizzy. Sound affects our nervous system, so we can get dizzy from it. :( Also, it sometimes causes anxiety or vertigo in some people.

Lilac, You're lucky you met MT in person!

Waving hello to Lynlee, Nancy, and Sunny. :D

I'm done. Done, done, done, DONE!

(I still have church reports to write and to train the secretary on Thursday but I'm done leading church services until Feb 23 - when I have 3 to do.)

My retirement home congregation had a very good turn-out today. We ran out of hymnbooks and they had to share. We forgot to count but figure it was around 20.

We had a fairly good turnout at the morning service. It was joint and there were 6 kids and 21 adults.

Dd has a friend visiting now. I've started our dinner (roast beef) and am taking a few minutes rest now that I've changed from my work clothes.

Yes, Ivy, I have a brace (and dh's much less bulky bowling wrist brace) but it seems to really help at night but doesn't do much in the daytime except get in the way. I guess it reminds me to do more with my left. I find eating with the brace on more painful than without so I've started taking it off for meals. Yesterday, dd had to cut my waffle for me. For dinner I selected finger food!

MT, glad to see you back, hope things brighten up for you. Do you think it might be your DH's impending stent?

Lucylee, my DFriend wears foam ear plugs at church. Our music can get kinda loud and she has some hearing loss already and loud noises bother her. They actually have a basket of foam ear plugs sitting out in our narthex, except my friend says they're not as good as others she has bought. She says she can still hear things but just not so loud. Think this would work for your DMom?

Went to Sunday School today, then stopped at store on the way home to get a cartload of vegetables, some meat for a stew, some other stuff. I looked for Christmas cards for next year but they were all gone. I did find a couple containers for next year's cookies.

Working at my desk this afternoon. Mailing at church tomorrow and meal I was to bring someone were both cancelled, so I have the day off from outside chores!

Lucylee, DH just told me there are head-set muff-like things, to wear over your ears, to help drown out loud noises, like music, when working with a leaf blower, power saw, etc.. He doesn't know if only BOSE has them, but it'd be a solution to the problem. She could take them on and off, and when they're off, they'll just wrap around her neck.

I once went to a King Dome (before they imploded it) baseball game with over 50,000 people there. So I took my walk man, with big head phones, turned it to a station they broad cast the game on, to help drown out the crowd noise because of my anxiety disorder. I can get attacks or get so worked up it turns into a panic attack.  It sure did help me, I wasn't scared or anxious at all. It was suggested to me by a doctor I was working with at the time. So helping to muffle the sound would work. Your dmom would be in control and perhaps not feel dizzy at all. :)

I made an order Thurs. p.m., but when I search for it on-line, it doesn't come up. So they said to call them tomorrow. Me? :?:  I'm scared they lost my order, it's something I wanted real bad, so they say to call tomorrow at 4 p.m. their time and 1 p.m. our time. Hoping they'll be able to find my order for me. I'm so excited about it. :P

Harmony, Your idea of foam ear plugs is smart, too! :!: It was my first guess, but then DH mentioned those muffs. Sometimes fitting foam ear plugs in the right way can be a buggaboo. :(

It's so nice you have a day off from outside chores!

MT, Sorry your ISP is blocked.

Wow! Kathryn, you get a nice long break! So happy with you for a good retirement home congregation turn-out, too.

I'm glad you have a brace, Kathryn. I have 2 braces. The carpel tunnel brace was prescribed by a dr. when I complained of wrist pain, but I don't actually HAVE carpel tunnel. But the braces for them are less cumbersome, it's easier to crochet with and use the mouse with. The other brace I got fitted with is about a foot long, comes down onto my hand, it's more cumbersome, but if I'm in a lot of pain, I use it. But I can't crochet with it, but can hand-write with it. It's cumbersome to use the mouse with it, but it doesn't hurt while eating with it. I hope your wrist gets better soon. Finger food is fun food!

I'd better go finish my poet friend's letter so I can get on with my dgd's leg warmers. Have been trying to get time-consuming important things done first, before I begin to crochet. It's a good day for crochet because DH's football games are on. So he's watching TV :) and I can just sit and crochet. :)

Hi everyone!

I have dealt with a LOT of phone calls today. My brother (twice), my sister and my best friend.

Going out for lunch tomorrow (sister) and Tuesday (best friend). My daughter is at my sister's for dinner today.

None of the family stuff would have happened before 3 months ago, including my dd going to have dinner at my sister's.

I just realized I haven't posted today. I have stopped by and read post several times.

Happy Anniversary to MT & Mr
(belated) Happy Anniversary to Norma & Mr.

Church was cooooold this morning. Even the seasoned church goers who are used to it got cold this morning. A few left early and a few others were up walking around to warm up. I did the nursery during church so me and the 4 little ones were in warm area.

After lunch at our regular local cafe, I went shopping for fleece footed PJ's. I an tired of wearing 400 layers and still being cold especially during the evening hours when I'm not as active. These PJ's are ugly but they are OH SO WARM!
