Car would not start it has battery probs. One errand was to pay a bill so I just did it via phone.

I needed a couple of things at the store we are low on but that will just have to wait. Nearly out of coffee filters and shampoo not an emergency but not convient either.
I have use paper towels in a pinch for coffee filters, and dish soap for shampoo.

This looks loke something I thing I would like to try making.

One of the hens decided to sleep out side last night, I remember seeing her on the coop roof so it was like she was saying I am up here and showing me she wanted to sleep inthe tree, she was at the door of the run when I went out to feed and water them at day light. One egg was on the floor of the coop directly in front of the nest boxes not broken. We got 13 eggs yesterday.

I have a plan for dinner.

Just wait you will get there, too
Yep, we've reached that point too, MT, but hate to acknowledge it.

Been busy this weekend wrapping up the Annual Reports. I've now sent them off to my Pastor and Secretary up home to go over. Had quite a time getting the nominating committee report to load. Sent a "help me" email to dd and she finally got it and sent it back to me. Just sent that off up north as well. Now to wait for additions/changes, etc. Also have the Treasurer's report which is about 5 or 6 pages of figures, but that will have to be an addendum. He can't possibly get his all done in time to be printed to hand out this coming Sunday. So I can sit back for a day or so. Though I do have to finish up the council minutes from Dec and get them sent.

Dh and dsonil have gone to look for a O ring. It's quiet and I have the house to myself. Next up is to get the dishes done I guess. Then just want to spiff up the living area -want so much to keep it clean.

DD and I went to see "Saving Mr. Banks" yesterday. Took me a while to understand the back & forth of the movie but finally 'saw' it. Did enjoy it and we discussed it quite a bit.

This Sat. DD will be going for family day where gd15 is located. She's had a few phone calls from there this week as gd has been in more than 2 fisticuffs. She's on level 2 but making no progress. Has several strikes.

Off to take some acetaminophen, check the mail and do dishes. BBL

Nancy, With the way you're feeling (cold symptoms), you didn't need the car battery to get "sick", too. :!: Glad you found the egg and didn't step on it. It's unusual for a hen to sleep outdoors all night, isn't it? :?:

Kathryn, I hope your wrist is better by now. Is it? :?:

I woke up without the dawn simulator, at 7 a.m., just didn't want to get "UP", so laid there until 8 a.m., when DH woke. We both got up together. It's sunny, 31.1* and frosty. The frosty sunshine ground is very pretty. I ordered a TV order, but when they couldn't find it, since I couldn't get it to appear with an invoice tracking on-line, I told them to cancel it. Well, surprise-surprise! :o I get an email that it's just 30 miles away and this a.m., I checked the tracking and it's in transit to my house. I don't know "where" it had been all this time, even their representative couldn't find the order. It has something to do with a method of cooking cakes and main dishes, which I felt would be good for us (not cakes), but the main dishes would add a little zip to our normal menu. I'm delighted after waiting this long, it's almost here.

(((Sadie))) I'm thinking of you and am praying for your big day, too.

Today's the anniversary of my DMIL's death and my DStepfather's death. She passed in 2002 and he passed in later 2009, but his service was 2010. They both were colorful characters and I'm glad I met them in life. :) :)

Twins', I'm glad your dinner was a success, too. :D

Helia, You've got a LOT of snow!

CathyS, Sorry about your sleep. Stay safe.

Booksaver, Sorry about the cancellations being difficult to get the word out. :(

Harriet, Thanks for starting us out and for all your FOCUS work in helping us, too! :D You're a Gem.

It's time for breakfast, etc... and a shower, and to finish an infinity scarf for Ddil. It's looking so very pretty. I'm so happy she'll have a mother-daughter outfit to match dgd's hat and leg warmers. ;) ;)

The mall was empty. We were the Penn ey's cashier's first customer, at 11:30-ish. Roads are surprisingly good. Wind is picking up and snow is starting to blow, though. Windchill is supposed to get down to -25 or so tonight and tomorrow a.m. I wouldn't be surprised if school was called off tomorrow too. .. Ds will need to be moved back to his apartment tomorrow regardless of windchill and temps, however.

I'm having a lunch break. Hope to work on teaching stuff from about 2-4 pm, then go to the gym and get dinner going. Before 2, I hope to finish the a.m. routine and get laundry going.

I'm also appreciating the slides Harriet is providing. Would like to be better with FOCUS cleaning this year.

Typo in my last post: we are paying higher tuition for ds for 3 years instead of 2 years. (Not 4 years as written. .. )

We made a big scheduling error this summer; we thought the church's Detroit trip was a week earlier than it is. Consequently, we have tickets (I think just 3 of us at this point) to Europe right during the Detroit trip. Dd18 is adamant about not wanting to miss the Detroit trip. (This is the annual trip our church youth group does with our sister church in inner city Detroit. They run a VBS, feed 100s of kids, and do repairs in the neighborhood on various neighbors' homes, etc.) However, dfil's 90th birthday party is the first day of the Detroit trip. . . She is in a tizzy over this, has called dh - and me while I was at the mall. I checked the church calendar before writing the dates for the trip on our calendar. Apparently, the dates for the trip were changed in Sept. That little fact didn't get communicated to me. I'm not sure when dh bought the first set of tix. . . .We'll have to work through this soon. . .

Last night, I did book a Disney hotel for the last 3 nights of our Florida trip. Goodness gracious, it looks kind of tacky online - but it is the hotel dfriends of ours stay at. We're going by their recommendation. Next, we need to find a hotel in Miami, preferably on the beach. I'm pleased with this FL trip; it will be good incentive to lose some weight. :)

Helia, I think the answer is in this quote:
(This is the annual trip our church youth group does with our sister church in inner city Detroit. They run a VBS, feed 100s of kids, and do repairs in the neighborhood on various neighbors' homes, etc.) However, dfil's 90th birthday party is the first day of the Detroit trip. .
The first is an annual event. The second is something that 1) happens once in a lifetime and 2) there won't be many more of these.

We are all packed and apparently loading the car. Dh just took all the bags but the computer bag and my normal carry-on. On the other hand, it is too early to leave yet. We can't get aboard until noon and only have to return the rental car (at most 45 minutes) and then take a taxi to the port (20 minutes.)

So I'm going to have my apple and peanut butter and just relax a bit. I'm very, very, nervous. The high wind advisory has me worried since it might be rough right from the start. Our new cabin assignment is #2 back from the bow and a deck higher than usual so I'm very concerned. Last time we were across the hall from this location, I wore sea-bands for the whole trip and was slightly seasick a lot of the time. (Slight seasick means disoriented, headache, sleepy all the time and not eating well but not throwing up.) This cruise is over 1/2 sea days starting with 6 in a row.

I paid bills (I thought I had prepaid everything but double checked and a $1K bill for our business internet went through after I paid the bill last week.) Hopefully everything is prepaid in full but I might do another check towards the end of the month. Depends on the internet connection.

Ivy: Wrist is still sore. I read that it requires 2 weeks of rest. That will start as of tomorrow (I have to unpack tonight.) For the past 13 days I've been wearing a splint as much as possible and that has helped, but I haven't done any physio for it yet. That starts tomorrow too.

I've started working on Asian squats - just one or two attempts a day. Not sure how much I'll be able to work on those while on the ship, depends on how rough it is.

Hello.

MT, DH can barely do toenails now. Hip doesn't let him get his leg in that position. I'm barely able to get to mine. I don't think I'll want him trying to cut mine as I have to dig out the corners...maybe when I get to that point I'll have to get the ingrown part professionally taken care of so they'll be easier. I guess I'll have to start helping DH. Good wishes for tomorrow.

Harriet, my dsil's neice went to community college and took college and high school together and graduated with a HS diploma and and associates degree. I think all our colleges in FL accept the credits, but apparently there is testing. Her college tested her and accepted her into higher classes. helia, doesn't it all sound interesting the way education is changing these days.

Nancy, was this a cherry pie in the crock pot?

Kathryn, have a safe trip.

Did some computer work for DH, got a LOL drying outside, did some record-keeping at my desk. Another grey day. It's going to freeze up north of here {{{brrr to Sunny}}}} but hopefully we won't. A freeze is a big huge deal in FL. Outside water pipes are exposed and there are all the gardens and citrus groves. It's a big money drain for many.

Wondering if Helia and family are driving to FL?

Long, very emotional funeral; I didn't know the young man and I was weeping. Mom, Dad and younger sister spoke, all very eloquently. A cousin of Dad's and an adult family friend spoke, then two of his HS dfriends (one of which is the dd of dfriends of ours) and a HS Teacher/adviser. Two of the pallbearers were sons of friends of ours, both with younger sibs my kids age. A quite accomplished and loved young man only 23. Temp according to my car was 16 degrees when I arrived at the synagogue and same when I left a little over two hours later. I feel bad not going to cemetery but I'm just not up to it.

Tonight dh and I are going to go "sit shiva" for the NY father of a dfriend here. We were unable to go last night so will go tonight. Afterward I think dh is going to watch the big football game against Lucylee's team at dfdriends house, while I am coming home, totally not wanting to be around people.

After funeral I got dd's meds at CVS, but she had packed up and headed back to school by the time I got home. I wish she had gone to the funeral, but I just wasn't going to go there. I need to go to PO this afternoon to mail meds to her, however.

Weather app says temp is 11 degrees here.

Thoughts for the afternoon:
-nap? I'm feeling headachy and emotional and a nap might be useful. Just took ibuprofen.
-trip to PO
-clean out garage enough to get my car in for the cold night?
-clean/straighten up from party, get stuff put away, etc.

Dh is to be here around 5 to pick me up to go to shiva.
