My forecast shows busy days as I get ready for the blizzard of events about to happen to us.

Harriet, too bad your DFriend is losing his job.

Boy, this weather just isn't letting up, is it? I was toasty warm under my down blanket last night. I should have put it on the bed way before this.

After my busy day yesterday, I took it a little easier this morning. Went out to bring mail in that I forgot yesterday. Had that in my left hand, grabbed the pinecone wreath from the door and had that and the 3 suction cup hooks for it in my left and came in with it all. As I was setting down the wreath I noticed the fist-sized light green tree frog hanging on for dear life on the back. Mail down in a flash and back out the door with the wreath which I've placed upside down near the first available bush. Need to check & make sure he's gone before I bring it in again!

Used up some milk getting to the sell by date making pudding...DH will be pleased at that! Made a big batch of ziti and put half of that in the freezer for days I can't cook. Also put big bowl of chicken soup in freezer. Got 3 huge pkgs. of chicken out to thaw and I will cook ahead for the freezer also. I'm not going to run myself ragged taking care of DH and cooking dinners at the same time.

Last blanket washed and hanging up. Laundry is all current.

Going to wash ceiling fan and light in bedroom next then work on venetian blinds in family room, living room, dining room.

Oh, ((Twins')), you have had so much to think about and it all came fast. Yes, some quiet time to yourself (and puppys) after an evening out with dh sounds ideal. The POA is so wise of your dmother. It really changes nothing until it's needed and she's no older after that than after a piece of birthday cake! What a blessing you are to your family.

Chose this alone time to accomplish outdoor chores, everything made more time-consuming and difficult because of the weather. Oh, my hands... :? ...ouch-ita, ouch, chaffing. My hands look so much like my ddad's always did when he would come from the dairy barn! I have definitely inherited more physical characteristics from him than I used to think - used to think I had "my mother's hands", but the skin is certainly his. I think they say it is "thin English skin", chafing quickly, thin and fair, and the kind that wrinkles young! Oh well, whenever we inherit something from a parent that makes us feel a bit bewildered, we can know that we also inherited something that will make us happy, maybe inside or maybe in ways and manner. It's all good.

The hens are out into the sunshine and have new crumbles, and I gathered eggs - well, egg. Just grateful they are even laying in this weather. That will be lovely for adding to breakfast tomorrow. Poured hot water from the sink into Sammie's bowl, where some of the same that dd poured this a.m. had frozen solid. Gave her a treat of meat I warmed.

Harmony, I think he's going to decide not to take the early retirement - he had intended to work 5 more years. But he is very unhappy with the company's actions toward him and is trying to decide whether he can stomach it now. Good job noticing the tree frog! LOL!

Harmony, I was hanging on your every word during the wreath story. Yikes, I am glad the frog continued to hang on for dear life and gave you time to put the wreath on the bush. Again, yikes, I have never been fond of frogs or toads. You can never foresee the distance or direction that they will be jumping, until they have.

There is no school today for an inservice. Dgd17 is suppose to watch the 2 little girls while dd2 and I work at the shop, getting ready for her sale tomorrow.

I don't think I have mentioned that dd2 had to pick up the girls early last Friday because dgd2 was running a fever. She was better on Monday, so they went to daycare. When dd2 picked them up, they said she had acted puny all day. Why didn't they call? Dd2 took her to the dr. on Wednesday. He said she had influenza, but not a bad strain, since the Tylenol/Motrin routine would get the temperature down. Dgd4 went to daycare on Monday and Wednesday. So far she isn't sick. Dd2 ended up missing all 2 1/2 days of school this week. I could have watched them but when they are sick they want mama, not grandma. I did watch them for a few hours yesterday, so that dd2 could buy groceries.

I had told her that I would be able to help her from noon on. I needed to buy groceries, but I ended up just buying what I need to get thru the weekend at WM. It is after 1 and here I sit waiting on word, that she is heading to the shop. She is going to end up having to pull a late night, at this rate. She will be doing it by herself! Tomorrow the sale is from 9 to noon. I will probably end up watching the 4 kids. The boys will be home later this afternoon.

I WILL BE SO GLAD WHEN THIS BUSINESS CLOSING IS OVER!

Hi everyone! I have my work cut out for me this afternoon. My friends bailed on lunch, so I am on my own. I was going to do some crochet last night after art class, but ended up doing more SINK REPAIR instead. After lunch, I need to get parts for the kitchen sink, Draino for the master bathtub, and some felt or cotton batting for the air filter by the catbox. I may have finally identified the smell - the air filter needs replacing. Since I can no longer find the filters and need it PRONTO, I am going to assemble one based on the present one. I washed out what I could, but part of it fell apart. Then, the forecast involves resumes and job searching, along with uploading some files to the unemployment office. If there is time, I would like to do some of the crochet I deferred last night. My house looks like a bomb went off, so MUCH pick up is in order all over the place.

I have noticed the kittens are teething on EVERYTHING. The queen cat and the highest ranking foster cat are continually at odds now, verbally assaulting each other whenever they are nearby. I wish they would decide already. They are HOUSECATS now!!! They is food enough for even the lowest ranking in the house. If the food bowl is empty, there is a FORTY POUND BAG right next too it. However, both of them were streetcats and have memories of food uncertainty. I miss dCat18. She didn't allow this sort of thing on her watch.

Tonight, I have dinner at a Chinese buffet with friends from church. Must not forget that. YUM! Mongolian BBQ!

Hope you all are having a wonderful, fun-filled, day. Ours was (it is Saturday here as I write this) but not due to weather or location. It was people who made it so great, so I hope you can find people with whom to have fun interactions today.

We had a great time in Tonga. I'll write a proper travelog later for you but we had a great time despite the weather.

It was very rainy and windy and we were delayed 2.5 hours because it was too rough to safely leave port. Dh and I had room service (we wanted pool deck food but they weren't serving due to the torrential rain) and watched Monsters U (which we loved.)

I had a nap after, meaning to nap just 20 minutes until tea but dh let me sleep longer. I awoke just 10 minutes before trivia but made it on time. Dinner tonight was tropical dress so dh and I wore our matching outfits. The Ambassador asked us to join him and his wife and we had a lovely evening with them. Lots and lots of laughter.

Oh Elizabeth, how I would love having kitties around! I'm smiling at the thought of your dcat-18 keeping all the "youngsters" sorted out. Also condolences to Bookie on the loss of her kitty.

Feeling better for having gotten out of the house and gotten the body work. Feeling balanced right to left again.

I am going to start challah (for dh to take to dfriend she will see in FL tomorrow evening) and take ddogs for a walk. Twenty-five degrees.....

Harriet, wishing you could have talked to dmom. I really think that with her memory so bad the time when it kicks in is not so far away, but I can't say that to her. A NY Times article just this week made me remember that it's not denial or willfulness that she doesn't realize her memory shortcomings, it's part of the progression. http://newoldage.blogs.nytimes.com/2014 ... ealth&_r=0

Sadie, so glad you are able to work and are hanging in there! Hugs!

I have filled three trash cans with leaves so I can use one for the chicken's coop and run. That and cleaning the loft coop floor and run was just the right amount of exercise.

Dgd is at the other granny's today. BabyN is here now. I have the washer twins going now and had lunch.

Babyn is singing and dancing not really legibly but it's precious. We work on vowel sounds.
