MT, I had asked about your new BP monitor yesterday, can you link it for me? I probably need a less complicated monitor for dmom. Glad that Dakota slept well!

I didn't get up until almost 8:30 - was still hitting the snooze alarm but not otherwise moving. This has been such a nice, quiet week; I haven't been out since Monday afternoon! I do have quite a bit to do since I've pulled out so much this week - Does anyone remember the part in P&P's book where Peggy says she was "completely unaware that her right brain was a ruthless idea machine, she was a servant to every impulse"? That's kind of how I'm feeling - declutter a little here, move stuff there, declutter a little there, move on to another place that catches my eye. So I need to get it all back together at some point.....

Last night I did a couple more rounds upstairs in the linen closet (pulling a bunch of stuff out to donate and refolding, straightening what's needed) and in the bonus room.

Today I also need to meet with rabbi and do some things at the temple. Also need to p/u meals for dmom and get them there, and refill her meds. The Federation can deliver, but I hate to have them to do it since she's so far out compared to most of the clients.

-kitchen counters & table
-reboot laundry
-get dressed, brush teeth, etc.
-meds/vitamins
-make the bed

And it's off to the races....

Harriet - interesting thoughts. Thanks for turning my mind in a different direction. I don't know who selects the school books - I just assumed the teachers did. There are 2 kindergarten classes and they don't follow the same teaching plan (for example - LO class is focusing on the letter Z and the other class is focusing on P this week). LO math comes from Saxon. Not sure what curriculum the homework assignments come from. I'm going to check into this. THANK YOU!

Twins - good reminder from P&P books. I found myself nodding when I read it.

Year ago (10 years??) I bought a wrist BP cuff for DParents. It has been used daily and still going strong. It is similar to this one.. I'm interested in which one MT is using too.

BP Wrist cuff is an Omron Model BP652. It is really simple to use. Wrap around wrist with Heart graphic on the inside of the wrist, move wrist over heart and when the blue light goes on it automatically pumps up, measures and deflates. Nice big numbers to read, can be used for 2 people (A or B setting), averages the last 3 readings, and keeps 200 readings in memory. Runs on 2 AAA batteries so no charging needed. Got it on A mazon.

Most phone calls made. Didn't know that there was pet insurance now. $100 deductible and covers everything else (except well check ups) at 80%. Too bad we can't get that for ourselves.

Next up: Dishes and then clean out box in bedroom.

Call the Man - done. Insisted it was not an emergency, of course. Many emergency calls ahead of me, because of various situations and delays in this weather, put my service call way out to next week. That's okay. I need to get out as soon as a little warming happens and start using the other house's laundry room a while. That will be good for this household and that one.

MT, congratulations on new doggie in the family. He's a big one, right? I hope he likes traveling, though I see you're staying put this summer.

OKay, wouldn't you think LO's teacher could have taken the time to draw a line through those parts that didn't apply or were wrong? Watch out for what's being taught. DD1 tells me her kids are being taught whole math and not memorization of times tables (which she's having to do herself) and no cursive at all (she's also doing that). DD2 tells me her kids in private christian school learned cursive very very early (1st grade) and hardly any printing!

I'm picturing Harriet with a washboard.....

sigh...tough morning around here. Everybody else's paperwork not up to snuff, many phone calls straightening it all out. I do have a job. I do have a job.

So I haven't done another thing but that. I am feeling the stress of DH's dr. apt. tomorrow. He just said to me: my DDad is 86 & he got a new hip...and he has LOTS of medical problems... so I'm thinking he's not happy either. He doesn't show his stress like I do except he gets irritable with me... it's not a best/better happy home around here now. sigh....

Thinking a lot about your dh, Harmony. Know we're with you in spirit. Frustrates dd that they can no longer teach cursive writing, Harmony. And then someday some very bright individual will say, "Why don't we teach our children cursive writing?" What a concept! My older dgks all know cursive but dgs 18months won't be taught that, so hopefully they will teach him that at home.

On my way to pay our health care premium. Waited for the mail today and still no bill so will mail the hand done one I have. Hopefully I can set it up for bank to pay it automatically until next year. Then I won't have to worry about it -just keep track that it's been paid from dh's account.
