Fantastic Friday

Another round done this morning checking in here is my reward and gathering eggs hens had let themselves out! Bc "somebody" that would be me left the door ajar this morning.

I have a plan for this evening we have? Lagnasagn in the freezer hoping h. Will grill hb patties to go with it, and I will try to get eggs deviled a movie we been waiting to be released on netflicks.

Today I will try to get the area for the new chicks set up. Dgd can "help " with that. I can tell more hens are sleeping outside bc it is easier to clean up the coop. One hens is molting that molted last fall strange so I will try to make sure she gets some extra sunflower seeds.

My soda stream needs a refill of the carbonator canister but I know where I canget that exchanged might be what I want for val. Day.

I need to get dgds horse book her val. out of the secret hiding spot maybe we can do a game of hot /cold to find it!

A customer came to our house to drop off a smartphone he found at MPB. Strange.....I thought DH was working at MPB. Apparently not. So I called DH and asked "Where are you?" There was dead silence for about 30 seconds. DH finally answered "on the other side of town". That response caused a dead silence from me. Finally DH said "It is Valentine Day and I'm doing something that I don't want you to know about yet. Okay?"

DH later came home and brought flowers (from him) and candle (from LO). I gave him the smart phone to put into the MPB office. Hopefully the owner will eventually come back and get it.

Lesson learned - The found smartphone had a screen lock. That made it impossible to answer the phone (I could see they were repeatedly calling the lost phone from "Home"). I'm sure the screen lock is good to protect the phone, but it also makes it impossible for someone to discover who the phone belongs to so it can be returned. I wished the display screen with the screen lock displayed emergency contact information in case it was found....or in case the person was found hurt....or a million other reasons.

Hmmm... wondering if Harriet's area is having more weather-related trouble? Usually she checks in by this time.

Before I went to bed last night I found out that my cousin's father-in-law had passed away, and I feel we should attend the visitation or do something... but don't know any arrangements yet -- and dh & I plan to be in college town tomorrow.

More on how it takes a village and the phone calls necessary in a small town with close family...
A couple hours before I wanted to wake up, dmil called this morning to see if I knew where dbil was. "He's not answering either of his phones and I don't know where he could be... do you have his cell phone number?"
* sheesh * He is a grown man, quite healthy and capable of taking care of himself, you know?
I started to give her the number and she said, "You just call him, will you?"
So I did, left a message on his voice mail to "CALL YOUR MAMA."
An hour later, after I had gone back to sleep, he calls me -- obviously had not listened to the message, just saw my number. Said he had talked to dmil.
Good grief.

Well I just about had a financial mess on my hands. I was at WM and used my debit/credit card, got my receipt and walked off. Then I heard the male checker, loudly ask me if that was my billfold? I had left it on the small counter next to credit card swiper. I never do that. I always leave my billfold in my purse and pull out the card. When done I replace it. Actually I am sure that I have the guy behind to thank for finding it and alerting the clerk. Just recently at the grocery store, a man had left his billfold behind. I alerted the clerk and he turned into the front desk, because the man was long gone. I remember thinking at the time that if I ever left mine behind, I hoped an honest person found it, otherwise they could just act like it was theirs and pocket it.

Dd2 and her dh went out to lunch. She will call me when she is ready to work on packing up things from the house that they did not move into.

H. Calls after dd asked if I can watch dgd tonight so we will do ours on another night. I like to wait for a diff. Nite that is less busy.

But h. liked my dinner idea at home so it is all good. I put in my request for the indoor water place.
Sun is out here now, and I have had my lunch.
Boiling eggs happening now, then some outside stuff dgd is here. I do not think I have the baby today.
Dgson is supposed to come after school.

Hello dear ladies

another sunny day here.

Harmony= hope all goes well for your dh and you.

Have done my exercises, used the pulley and then used a walking stick to do stretching. Then DH worked with me awhile too putting my arm in different holds. I find in talking with people that have gone through this that everyone has different instructions for healing,

I had my sling off for three hours during exercises, showering and dressing. I can see the progress I've made but also see I have a long way to go too.

Work day for me. will try to nap in the recliner.

Lilac - glad it turned out well. Does your wallet have a phone number to call if someone finds it? I need to do it for my wallet.

The owner of the smartphone did called MPB looking for it, so all is well. I suspect they had some stressful time while searching for it. This has prompted me to put that information on my phone lock screen.

Heart shaped cake is baked and decorated. The guys are very pleased.

Lunch was "Chicken in a tube". LO thought that was a funny name for Chicken Salad wraps.

Harriet has been digging out, lucylee! And looking quite awkward doing it, I'm sure. Facebook reports, which HRH is reading from friends all over our area, all have pretty much the same stories of shovels and thick ice.

I cleared the four steps, chipping away with the handle-end of the porch broom that worked well last ice storm. It was very slow going. I actually decided to do two steps at a time and come back in to rest. Discovered that a skiing, or backward rowing motion worked best for me and the ice started chipping away easier. It was very thick. Then HRH took over and dug out the truck. He waited an extra 45 minutes, just to placate me, just hoping warmer temp might come and make things easier.

After one failed attempt, he made it out of our driveway, only to discover the next mile of road had been made into one-lane-only by vehicles already going out, with piles of snow on either side. That's very dangerous because there are curves and hills - BTDT, bad idea. Maybe there were some people who couldn't trust the landmarks of the side of the road, though, and I realize there are dropoffs - I guess they did their best. He tried it, and it just so happened he was the only vehicle during that time and got to main road more easily than he might have.

He found an open grocery for us, and so that was a help and also let him have a break and see/do something different. I was ever so glad to see him drive back in and am glad he didn't try any more errands. Tomorrow will be a little better, the next day a little better.

We've remained worried about his ddad - posted in J and C.

Otherwise we understand all family to have weathered this pretty well. HRH's mother and invalid stepfather are pretty much stranded for longer than others because their driveway is steep, plus it's a big deal to transport him somewhere with his dementia, but she got plenty of groceries in ahead of this and says they will be fine.

I don't have a lock on my phone. Probably not too smart. How would I go about putting IF FOUND, RETURN info on lock screen anyway? I have an iPhone4.

Sooo glad to see Harriet and family are managing the blizzard. That does sound like a dangerous roadway, though. Glad HRH is home safe!

Need to call dmom re: cousin's father's arrangements/flowers, etc. I will probably need to order for us... dmom is full of good intentions these days, but we can't make order till tomorrow, I guess -- don't know funeral home, etc. that they will use... and if dmom says TODAY she will do it, it just may be overlooked by TOMORROW. I can do that while on the road. Another iPhone blessing -- I can even set myself a reminder for it! However, other daunt/uncle may want to go in with us -- so -- question there for dmom to ponder on, too.

Checking J&C for news on HRH's stepfather...

I have a question re: bathroom cleanliness...
If you have a messy man, who has very poor aim, let's say... just a hypothetical question, you understand...
IF that were your situation...
Do you think it would be better to use one of those bathmats that surround the toilet or not. D?H seems to think the bathmat will just be an additional thing to get messy.

Also trying to edit the heading for the day! When I first posted in the wee hours of morning, I actually forgot it was Valentine's Day! LOL. Since then I have received candy and a card and my memory has returned.
