Hey look I'm typing with two hands!

Have my sling off so am taking advantage of being able to type with two hands. The left is a little stiff at first but quickly got into remember how to type.

Spent too much time today trying to recover my computer. My wireless radio keeps quitting working due to a software conflict.

Thought I fixed that by restoring to a point where it worked but that lost me my anti-virus. So a half dozen reboots, I seem to be back up.

We'll see.

Have learned the anthem for tomorrow (need more practice.)

Have stripped and remade my bed.

Have spent too much time thinking about the new apartment.

Have run one load of laundry.

I'm still in pjs.

My life is disorganized and deadlines are flying towards me at a scary rate.

Dee, Dfam#1 lives about 20 straight north of us in Holiday. Dfam#2 is 9 miles away in Dunedin.

Changed my clothes and ready to go; will leave around 3 pm so we should get there about the same time they get home from their activities. We haven't seen as much of either family as before. What with dgkids growing up with their own activities and jobs there just isn't as much time. But that's to be expected...life moves on! We're just so glad whenever we get to see them.

Time to put one lol in dryer and get another started, there's just enough time to get them both done before we leave.

MT: I'm pretty amazed at how old some of the things I was holding yesterday are. One was an 180 years old diary. Plus, it makes me realize how rich my ancestors were. I have shoe-boxes of photographs from the 1800s with a number of them from the mid-1800s if we are guessing right. To be rich enough to afford photographs at that time is pretty amazing, especially in a place like Halifax which we had thought was somewhat backwater. Conversely, of my paternal, poor, grandparents, I have only one photo from my grandmother's childhood. And no diaries and only a couple letters (my guess is they couldn't afford a lot of paper, nor the time from labour to write.) Lots of oral stories, though, since she lived to 100.

In contrast, for the rich side of the family, I have diaries and photos going back an additional 3 generations. And a pretty complete family tree for two branches. Without any effort at all.

My cousin was able to tell me that Horton was the old name of Wolfville (and in one document someone was listed as being born in Horton and then died at Wolfville so we could see they quickly switched to the new name.) He was also able to confirm that when the diaries talked about The City, they meant Halifax (most of the people were based either in Horton/Wolfville or Dartmouth and Halifax was the nearest city.)

Money really plays a roll in things since, for my Harrison branch, we were only able to figure out our grandmother's parents' and maternal grandparents' names. We don't have anything more than that to go on and that is surmised from a photo with writing on the back and a letter. The letter includes dialog in Scottish brogue so if we do go looking, Scotland, rather than England, seems to be the place to start.

We were both aware of our lack of diaries and our lack of photos in a format that will last even 30 years, let alone 130.

The vehicle title came in today's mail so I went to two tag agents (first one was closed). Our new-to-us vehicle paperwork is now done.

I sliced a ham and bagged it into meal size portions (using scale to weigh the meat). Those 16 future meals are in the freezer now. Also cooked some ham for lunch today.

DMom stopped by to visit for a bit. She was on her way to CPA to pick up her taxes. CPA never charges DMom for doing her taxes so she makes him a pecan pie (his favorite) to show her appreciation.

OKay, it is 2 p.m. (and a bit.)

Time to reboot my day.

I've showered and started the henna process. "Wheat blond" this time because Buttercup wasn't available and everything else was too dark.

Folded and put away the first load of laundry. Stripped the spare bed and started that load of laundry. Have sorted the next two loads so they'll be ready to go.

Downloaded three audio editions of the Economist. One I couldn't get to download when I wasn't on reliable internet and the other two have been released since we returned home.

Started dinner (actually a major effort - roast chicken with stuffing.)

Flipped the laundry.

Washed the henna out of my hair and s2s. Finally. After all, it is now 4:50.

Kathryn, You bring back 7th & 8th grade memories of when my girlfriends and me used to rinse our hairs with Henna rinses. Oh, we thought we sure were the bee's knees! Kids.

Sadie, Congratulations for your improvements bit by bit and being able to type with both hands now! I've enjoyed re-living my old rotator cuff journey through your eyes. You've been amazingly courageous and seemed to have a PMA, too!

Sunny, I'm sorry your Dcousin broke their nose! Ouchy!

Twins', I hope your Spring comes early this year and just keep saying: THINK SPRING!

DH and I are so still stunned about our dneighbor since 1975's serious stroke, although he's better, but in lotsa pain. DH keeps saying, "It's life!" every time I turn around and say anything about ANYTHING, which sorta aggravates me,somewhat, but it's true! Life IS Life! And everything we or friends,loved ones, or pals go through, it's just Life! It's sad.

We watched "The Yearling," tear-jerker this a.m. Wonderful in color on the new TV. I took a bath last night in what our cat thinks is HER tub! When I turned the jets on, she was so OUTTA THERE lickety split! She did NOT expect jets in the tub. I was almost wondering if she was going to dive in to bathe, too!

Hi everyone!

It was a beautiful day here today. A lot of the snow has melted away and it looks like there might be an end to this long, cold winter.

Mike and I went to a new-to-us Italian place for lunch. There were so few seats that the first part of our lunch was spent trying to eat standing up at the cash register. The lasagne tasted different to anything we had ever eaten, so that lunch place is off the list in the future. We spent the afternoon at a flea market. Mike got something stamped "USSR" and I got something stamped "German Democratic Republic".

CathyS, That's too bad about the lasagna. At least you know now. Wasn't it fortunate you weren't taking guests there with you for the first time to eat! Now you know to pick someplace different.

I finally finished my red-white-blue striped "Olympics" hat. It took me over a week to get it done, as I was procrastinating in true SHE fashion.

We didn't get mail today, so DH decided to drive up to the mailbox (1/4-mile away) tomorrow, to "see" if the mail arrived later today. His last check was about 3:40 p.m. Sometimes a new sub is slower than a usual carrier.

I'm drying a lol towels in the dryer and am washing 1 lol (socks, nightgowns, underwear) in the washer. I'll not do anymore laundry after that. I'd love to do other things. There's a new book by Pam Young advertised on-line. I believe it's called "The Joy of Being Disorganized." I notice, when I "Google" her or her new book, how several YouTube videos about the book, also come up, so I want to listen to her talk about her book. She has the most beautiful voice, her inflection and nice sound is wonderful to listen to. She was truly blessed with a good audio voice, which makes for great narrations. I love P & P, too. Such talented, humorous and clever gals.
