Helia, I've always thought (when reading your posts) just how independent your DGirls sound. The way they go off on things on their own, cook, sew, do projects, etc. They just sound so much more independent than mine did. My take on GG is that she's in someone else's home and not wanting to do things herself as technically she's a guest... and probably just needs things explained to her beforehand.

Kathryn, if the original people buy your house, will you have an issue with the real estate people? Have you signed a contract with them? That would be an issue here. We would have to pay them a fee, even if it was our own contact from before a contract was signed. I sure hope that is not the case.

Oh, about your blankets, etc., we have donation boxes here for clothes / bedding. Also, Goodwill here takes donations that are not sellable to a bulk place where it all goes overseas and gets sold cheaply by the pound to people in other countries who don't care if it's perfect or not. So maybe you could still donate. I would call and ask if they do that.

Yesterday was a huge challenge. Doctor watched Dh coming down the hall and when asked about release, said he wanted to see him walking better and he could come home Monday Afternoon. Hummmph! What is 2 days going to do? Nothing except pad his pockets with an extra visit. Therapy people told him last week he could come home and they work with his walking, so they know how he walks.

Therapy people told him he is 2 weeks ahead of most people with his progress. I think this is dishonest and it's not good, because DH is now pushing himself to get up and walk every couple hours. He's been walking a bunch, but I think this extra push is too much. His ankle is stiff from ski break in his 20's and his gait is never going to be normal. I'm not sure the dr. is aware of all that.

Plus DH went down in a blue funk again. I could just tell by his expression and the way he was laying there. He said he was discouraged. When it came close to the time for me to come home he picked a couple things he wanted to do with me and managed to get me to stay till 9:30. I was beyond exhausted. I think he just didn't want to be alone again.

Leaving here in a few minutes to go in. Need to bring laundry in and pack up a couple more outfits. Must pick up a card for someone on my way too.

Spent most of the morning at my desk, got everything but one thing caught up. Sent a couple emails out re: church business and paid bills, etc., and desk is looking better.

We got cold again. It was 59° when I came out of the building last night. It better not get freezing here, I've washed all the old plant coverings for the year. Sorry, lots of evil faces today!

Helia, yes we are leaving on the 20th. Cruise leaves Ft. L on the 21 and gets to Rome (with numerous stops) on April 15. 29 days with the in laws.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

   stomping foot in support of homegoing. Carrying protest placard with inappropriate saying. :o Well, I have to change placards.. ... but I'm still SO mad.

Dstepson and HRH have just driven away to hospice house. Yes, hospice house. Things have been difficult. I need to post further in J and C and I do read there, appreciating all and learning about concerns. Just overwhelmed.

One TaDa is getting order made for next weekend's baby shower, including dd34 and ddil in large gift. No doubt next weekend will be just as busy but at least presents will have a good chance of being wrapped in time without driving trips.

This is another big day of doing nothing for me -- which makes me feel bad about myself -- but which I sorta feel I deserve after having dgs for at least part of every day this week AND tomorrow. Plus DST starting tomorrow. Also had tv malfunction which d?h blamed on dgs and me --probably justifiably -- and which kept me on phone with satellite company for a long while. ALSO -- I have walked every day this week faithfully ---- and gained 2 lbs!!! Good grief. Obviously, I am just in a horrible mood all around and do not need to take part in polite society.
Tomorrow is another day.

Harmony: The real estate agent was aware of the private sale possibility from the get-go and, here, you can write that sale into the contract with the agent so that if those people buy, the contract is considered null and void and I don't owe her a cent (despite her time, advice, paying a photographer and setting up a website as well as paying to list the house on MLS.) She was willing to do that.

On the other hand, since this waiting game will run until April 23 (originally we thought it would be March 23) we've decided not to take the agent up on her offer. In the meantime, we'll do as much work as we can re: packing and hopefully can spruce the house up quickly should it have to go on the market. She is aware of all this and if the house is going on the market she will be our agent. Her response to my note to her saying I was putting my trust in God to make this work out for the best was "Very nice good things happen to good people!"

I finished the service, had lunch, and then got dressed for the day. I've cleaned our bathroom and started a load of laundry. The upstairs need vacuuming and dusting. The main floor at least needs a sweep and a tidy although the kitchen could probably use a damp mop as well. That will wait until after my service tomorrow.

Next up: inventory freezer while waiting for the washer to finish up. Then I'll go to the church and get the toddler area set up.

Lucylee I don't know about polite society, but you are always welcome around here!

Thank you, Kathryn! I needed that. I try to rationalize that I can't do Everything. It is impossible to be on the go with dh and care for dgs and exercise AND keep up with all household routines... And people ARE more important than routines...
I know I will never ever regret one minute spent w dgs -- or dh, for that matter...
But oh my... Right now I am just as tired and lazy as if I had been at school all week!
Tomorrow is another day.

Oh, ((Harmony)). How discouraging! I hope dh keeps his spirits up.

Looking at the weather website - things are looking up here!! :) Highs the next 10 days are above freezing, half the time well into the 40s, looks like lots of sunshine expected. Wed. is an exception with a high of 30 predicted. Yesterday was gorgeous - bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, temps in the low 40s. Today is cloudy and gray and the high was only 33? I think. We are dripping and slowly turning into a massive puddle. Streets and parking lots and drive ways are slowly growing in size as the piles of snow and ice on the borders are starting to shrink. :) Pot holes here are unbelievable. We're known for bad pot holes b/c of the winters here, but this year, the pot holes are really over the top. Roads are really really bad right now.

OK - I have not been using my time too well, got caught up in fun emails with a dfriend from TX, my best friend when I lived there. We were having babies together; her 4 kids overlap with my 3 in age, with my ds being the eldest by 8 months, our 2nds are 5 months apart, and her 2 youngest are younger than dd15 by 1 and 3? years. She has worked hard this year and lost an amazing amount of weight - i want to say over 70 lbs. - and we're planning a celebratory trip to NYC this summer/spring with another friend from our Austin days. :)

Off to bake gluten free dairy free nut free brownies, make the bed, update laundry. If I have time, I'll work on Hebrew this afternoon.

Freezer Inventory is done both the deep freeze the fridge-freezer. I'll make up the meal plan in a bit. Didn't find much I didn't already know I had.

Sheets are in the dryer. Dh washed the car but it didn't get clean for some reason so he's discouraged he wasted his time. I suspect not using soap made a difference.

We are eating 3 raisin buns as a snack since that nicely emptied a bag and made some space.

Back from setting up the church sanctuary play area. What I envisioned worked. I had just enough foam to block off the underside of the pew and the burgundy flannel sheet covering the foam looks great. There were a few small extra pieces of foam so I brought them home and will make duct-tape covered blocks for the kids to stack. The teddies look cute in their little 'cribs' (shoe box tucked into a pillow case and the extra material folded up and over to form sheets to tuck in the bears.)

Up and down the stairs gave me all the staircases I need for my fitbit but I'm woefully under for steps. Maybe working on my own home this evening will help remedy that.

Time to start dinner.
