Ivy, I've taken care of several things today that I had been putting off so I've done my anti-procrastination part. Love the rhyming!

Beautiful day here - about 50 degrees and as clear as a bell! Lovin' the sunshine!

Need to assess what else I can reasonably do today...from this morning:
OMM also:
-clean out car
-review what is in Goodwill boxes in my car and drop off (Dh just put some boxes in my car last weekend, I'm -not sure they all go to the Goodwill?)
-Michaels to have an item framed
-Petsmart for Moses food
-empty the dresser in M bath and reglue drawer sliders, purge drawers while I'm at it
-call for appt to pick out new sunglasses (actually, I just need to find out when owner's wife will be there since she is so good at choosing glasses that suit me)

One of the boxes outside goes to Goodwill, one to an animal shelter. I think I will drop off the Goodwill boxes tomorrow as I go past a place when I go to dmom's.
-call pet shelter and ck on hours for dropping off
-call re: choosing sunglasses on Friday a.m.
-go out to:

Early this a.m., a happy surprise to see my first cousin's shining face in a nice casual-classroom photo in the paper. She is a creative writing teacher, college and adult-education, and the story was about one of her writing classes, and their successes. I sent a "happy for you" email to her right away, saying I was delighted she'd had such a positive moment in the press.

Ivy, enjoy seeing the dentist's building in the rear view mirror. Glance at pearly whites in vanity mirror, too.

Dd15 is at volleyball practice. We raced through a McD's so she could have a bite to eat between school pickup and the practice, which is supposed to follow the school bell as soon as the team members can arrive. She had emailed me that she had missed lunch and hoped I could bring a cold-cut sandwich, but so far I still haven't gotten that email. We don't know what's holding her emails up. Yesterday I received one she had actually sent 24 hours previously - very unusual.

Bedroom is finished. One box of the things inventoried and packed and in the storage room now. The remainder can be thrown in a box the day before the move. Clothes stay in the drawers for the move and closet contents go in wardrobe boxes so that will be a quick pack.

Final score was one box of giveaway, one green garbage bag, and some peace of mind knowing that room is done.

Found someone to take material and sewing supplies this morning so I'll go through my sewing stuff next. My machine is currently on the desk that is to be sold so I will need to pack it up soon. The plan is that it will go in the wardrobe that is in the dining room so I have to empty out half of those contents and move my sewing things into there.

I'm out of packing tape at the moment so I can't assemble boxes to pack. That will be tomorrow's errand. I'll probably pay a premium but there's nothing I can do about that.

I think I saw that Harriet's dd didn't gain enough points in ISS so has to do it again??? Oh my goodness... How does one gain points in ISS??? Bless her heart... (((BIG HUGS))) This is just ridiculous.

Yesterday, dh was still feeling pretty puny, so I took dmil's paperwork to the accountant in next town. Called my dmom and asked if she needed anything taken to that town or brought back... found out dmom is still battling UTI... offered to pick up her meds but she said she needed to come to town anyway... (I was happy to have time alone with myself anyway, so don't feel bad about dh not accompanying me on this trip.)
Then, after I returned home, I took a long nap and we went to dmil's. That is always an adventure, it seems. More in J&C.
After that, dh really just wanted to come home and bury his head under the covers... but I convinced him that he would feel better if we stuck with our plan for dinner and a movie... so we went to Captain D's and then saw a movie we knew (almost) NOTHING about: Tim's Vemeer. It turned out to be a documentary about a guy who wanted to recreate Vemeer's art. I thought dh might want to just walk out but, being a history teacher, he was interested, too, and it was kinda fascinating. Definitely took our minds off dmil's problems...

Today, I thought I would be babysitting dgs, but ds finally called to say, no, their plans had changed.
While I was waiting for him to show up, I dusted -- Swiffered -- the kitchen! Woo hoo for me!!! Top to bottom, even the back of the refrigerator. Y'all -- this took 32 minutes!!! That is crazy. But at least now I feel like I accomplished something for the day. * sheesh * And I just remembered... I did the ceiling fan, but forgot the light fixture globes.

I think we'll go out and eat w/ds & dgs tonight, then take ddil something for her midnight meal at work.

Kathryn, you continue to impress me with your organized approach to the move. (((HUGS))) for the sentimental meltdown; I definitely understand. Sometimes that happens to me. I keep a LOT of sentimental stuff.

And likewise (((HUGS))) for OKay and issues w/dmom. Boy... I hear you there, too...

It is kinda chilly here, Twins... 54... low tonight is supposed to be 24. When dh went out to post office this morning, it was in the 40s, and he pronounced it much too cold for golf, LOL! (He thought a missed phone call this morning was about arranging a golf game and he really didn't feel like going.)

Sounds like your ds has a good plan, working with his roommates, helia.

What am I working on this Wednesday? Job search, what else!

I got up embarrassingly late this morning (or afternoon really), thanks to the Benadryl, but I sure needed it. I also stayed up too late though, finishing a crochet challenge. It is a rug pattern, but I used a scaled down version to make a cat bed. I still have to weave in the ends, but Tiki has already tried it out, and it passed inspection. I have cleaned up the tools from the bathroom and had to redo the tool cabinet to get them to fit back. It needed it, and it did not take long. Now I can find things. As I took stuff from the cabinet to the garage, I stopped and took some things out of my car. I still have much to do to have a clean car, and the deadline is Friday, when I will be returning the shop vac to my friend.

Tonight is normally dinner at church and Bible study, but the dinner is a cheese dish which I cannot eat. So I have taken my dinner out of the freezer. I still intend to make Bible study.

To anyone that gives away or otherwise disposes of desks: Be sure to take the drawers out and make sure nothing has fallen behind! I found some of the previous homeowners' pictures that had fallen behind a cabinet. Fortunately, there was nothing embarrassing to her, and I was able to return them, but who knows what could be there.

Just ordered packing tape and file boxes from St&ples. That will be delivered to the house either tomorrow or Friday morning (they say Friday but in previous experience if I get the order in by 6, I get it the next morning.)

Did I mention dh is boiling down sap? The kitchen smells wonderful right now.

No, lucylee. She got 12 points, and 12 points is the total you can receive. Don't know why I got so specific with the rest of the post, but IF a student gets less than 10, they have to repeat the day. Basically, she finished her requirement, so that's over. The only further problem was that Student Services didn't tell teachers where she was, so they all recorded her tardy/absent again. She thinks she may have gotten that straightened out by now. Student Services is supposed to let teachers know the day before, since teachers are supposed to provide work for the day. (Is anyone surprised that teachers seem to have extra work to do, no matter what happens?) As it was, dd didn't know of enough upcoming assignments to have 6 hours of steady work, so ended up reading Manga books.

Volleyball practice was great for her spirits. She was complimented on her serve, and was feeling energized by the end. We went by the grocery afterward and she was animated and happy.

x supper is being made; pasta has just finished cooking, tuna in cream (really l1/2 and 1/2) and garlic has been sauteed; rolls are in the oven, parmesan has been grated

- bring up garbage and recycling bins from the curb
- work on teaching??

I'm so glad everyone loves my poems, I've started the last 2 days out with.
I saw the dentist, for x-rays, exam, guard fitting, and hygienist cleaning. I need 2 crowns this year, DH & I discussed our budget & decided to do 1 in June or July & 1 in November. We work around paying property taxes, so pay for crowns when we recover from taxes. I'm so happy I have no decay; just 1 gold crown is leaking and 1 other gold crown needs to be re-done. My dr. gives Cerec crowns, which are stronger than porcelain, and are white. They're sure nice, but costly.

I came home, worked on my short story, have over 1,000 words on it now, I'm just now about ready to get "into" it, but have a killer headache. I've been fighting off allergies or a "bug" for 2 - 3 days. Sinuses are acting up, then seem to back into the ears, so the ears feel achy, but no fever... So it must be from allergies, I'm supposing. I'm doing a lol = towels, then will do whites. Took a few-minute rest, might grab an iced tea and work on some letters, to new pals. I got DH's Costco list finished up the other day, but today, since he'll also go to another store and dgs is turning 3, we need a 3rd b-day card for him.

I worked on my calendar, ordered an e-book, written by a blogger, who used to write for the magazines I do now, and she's got over 50 tips on writing fiction, she's gathered from her own experience, workshops, conferences, etc... and has put all her tips into an e-book. She's elderly, she's so cool, I love her blog, and her free e-books, and her DSON is an author, too! Her name's Florence Whitkop and I forgot what her DSON's first name is, but at B & N, his books are listed in e-book form, too. I don't know if he does paperback, too, or not. Anyway, it's neat that writing runs in their family. In my family, my natural father wrote a vanity book of haiku poems, wrote in his spare time, and our dgrson-15.5 writes like a fiend. He's so prolific! His dreams/goals are to write stories and books, in adulthood. So he and I email how we're doing back and forth. It's so nice to have a young person who truly understands the dynamics around sometimes being "possessed" by the written word and writing. He's so intelligent and bright. I just know he'll do well. He's doing great now. ♥

I'm rambling because of my headache, being tired, and I was at the dental office over 1.5 hours. I'm so exhausted. But my laundry's calling me and will keep me awake for awhile. Tomorrow's Thursday, I call it "Thinking Thursday," so "plan" working on outlines for July & August. That's half the battle. I've gotten all the titles written. It's challenging to come up with "catchy" ones, too.
