DMom's lifelong neighbors stepped in and took over to solve the mystery cell phone ownership.....and therefore who was in DMom's garage. Using pictures & phone numbers on the cell phone, they tracked down who the phone belonged to. It was a female teenager that lives a couple blocks from DMom. The neighbors spoke with the teenagers Mother and let her know the phone is being turned over to the police. The neighbors made some changes to exterior lights on 3 of the houses to brighten up the area. Mom remained steadfast in not wanting to lock the exterior door. This morning DMom finally agreed to let us put a simple hook & eye latch on the outside of the door. At least she will be able to tell if anyone has entered and/or is inside.

Church was wonderful this morning. One of the rare services that DH and I sat together and didn't need to get up to take care of anything. Lunch was at local cafe sitting with 8 VDFriends.

LO is still napping. After he wakes up we will go to local park.

I napped on the recliner couch since it started to rain when I went outside to nap. First I took the chipped and peeled nail polish off my nails (did that outside so it wouldn't smell inside.) So that is done. Swapping over winter/summer purses was my other to-do item but I fell asleep instead.

So did dh. At least he thinks he did because his throat was sore from snoring (although I was asleep in another room and didn't hear him.)

No-one apparently bought the house while we were napping.

When I woke up I told dh to cancel going out to dinner, I was just too tired. Then we had burgers and watch an episode of tv. He's working on finishing reading the library book tonight since tomorrow is not a holiday in NZ and there's a chance they'll want him to work. I'm going to swap out my purse and then, maybe, go to bed. I think I'm too tired to watch a movie although dh suggested several.

Tomorrow I intend to clean up the gardens and work on the baby pram. And wash the car. And 3 more loads of laundry.

For the remainder of the week we think we'll set a goal of 10 boxes a day. It will be hard to find everything we need if we do that but we get the keys in 11 days and the movers come in 3 weeks, 1 day. We are really busy week after next so if we want to get the packing done in a non-rushed manner, we need to start now.

Ds said he'd be happy to live in the house for us if it doesn't sell, while it is still on the market. But he can't afford to pay the full cost to us. Like we'd even charge him rent - it means we don't have pay someone to check the house daily. So, if that's the situation, we'll make it work.

How nice of your DS to offer to live at your home if it doesn't sell. Great idea & good news.

We're uncertain what we'll have for dinner.

I emailed dgson-17 with the June dates he can come to stay, if he's not in college still & if his bosses will let him have that week off. He's probably checking with his schedule, bosses, & parents, to see if those dates will work out. He helps get firewood, does techie things for me, makes bracelets with DMC embroidery thread, builds on a fort, etc... He enjoys himself a lot. We have pizza while he's here, too, & DH takes him out for breakfast or lunch, too.

I realized I haven't even been here yet today. Like Kathryn, I had a horrible night -was awake from 2am till dh got up before 7. I went in and laid down & fell asleep???? Got up at 8:15 and hurried to get ready for church as we were having coffee and donuts at our rec hall 9-10. We went there, then to W algreens for dh's antibiotic for when he has his teeth pulled and from there to church.

D pastor gave us the date of her (and an old friend's) wedding today -October 4th. So glad they're doing it before we 'snow birds' take off. They have decided, as much as they love our quaint church, that they'll need much more room. So they've decided on the next town west and their (same denomination) church -much larger. They've decided to live in the parsonage. He is a widower for 20 some years and his sister & her husband bought his house long ago. He's lived in the ol' farmhouse with his Mom and another sister for a lot of years (believe he bought it from his Mom) but has now moved to an apartment until they're married for the transition. He told us today, "it just won't work with us living in the old homestead." Smart man.

I did a LOL this afternoon. Took me 2 1/2 hours to do the wash cycle and then the dryer and get them folded. Have told dh I'm not a big fan of the new washers/dryers. Taking way too long to dry and have to put in the money twice. After 1 hour things were quite still damp. Old dryers allowed us to put another quarter in toward the end but now have to wait for it to finish and start all over with the full amount. Guess dcampowner is going to try to get the company he bought them from to raise up the heat a little and try to extend the time a little. We'll see. I hate to think about going to town every week for this. I can hope the new ones down the drive will act better???

We picked up chicken and rib barbeques from the fire department after church. So we'll just finish those up for supper. Hope it's enough. Maybe we'll go down and get an ice cream to fill up.

Nice that DS will stay in the house if needed, Kathryn. Gives you a little breathing room.

I can remember that happening to me one day -way back when. Loved that blouse too but I don't think I ever wore it again.

Off to bed as I'm not being productive. I haven't moved since I last posted.

I will start the dishwasher, though, before I head up to bed.

Went back to bed this a.m. in tears felt rough. Had to get up an go to moms day dinner. It was yummy glad others were able to carry on the conversations.

After I got to shop for plants in the rain @ home Depot not sure why but I enjoyed it. Got other plants at other places and have 'em in the ground now. One rose to replace one that died. Got toms developed for our area.
Got herbs with them along the hot side of the house on the west end.

Went to visit the in laws. We called first and Mike asked if we could bring dinner in with us. Father in law requested Kentucky Fried Chicken.

My mother in law is not doing well with the dementia/Alzheimers. She is so totally convinced that Mike drove her to some home earlier this week and she sat in a chair for 3 days and then escaped. All 3 of us tried so hard to tell her that it wasn't true. As far as she knows, her darling son had her in prison and she just wept and looked like she was in such anquish (sp?) . Her entire face would just become so distorted with emotional pain. It was heart breaking.

Of course, she told us this at least 10 times. She has had the initial test as far as I know. Father in law said they asked her such easy questions, as far as he was concerned. (Like her name and address.)

My father in law and my husband try so hard to talk her through stuff. Today is the first time she has seen me in a month. She always knows me and wants to talk to me, but it's sad to see her slipping away mentally.



Tomorrow is another day of tossing stuff at my dad's. It's a holiday here. Fireworks have been going off all last night and tonight. The official fireworks go off tomorrow night. I'm sure that a lot of dog owners will be thankful when it's over.
