Re: Let's Conga Friday
Phone is repaired. I had forgotten this is the phone that requires its 5 (!) backup batteries to be installed and working in order for it to work. The power failure drained the batteries and so now that fresh(ish) ones are in place, the phone works again. Have added AAA batteries to my shopping list since you know now that I have none, I'll need some in the next 17 days.
Have to email a chine dealer with photos of my stash.
Just finished breakfast. Time to get my day progressing.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Well, here it is 10:30 & I'm still in my jammies. Had determined to get dressed first but my blood sugar was too low & I had zero energy. So I've had meds & eaten breakfast. Slept good till 3:45am then couldn't get back to sleep. Dozed a little in the recliner and when dh got up I went back to bed (6:30ish). Then of course I slept till nearly 10. Not a good pattern. Now I'm just waiting for my BS to stabilize then get moving. Still have to finish putting away groceries from late yesterday.
Ended up going to DS-A's so dh could de-winterize their MH. From there we drove about 50 minutes south to pick up DS & DGS14. They had driven the big truck/trailer to a race track so DGS could practice. (DGrandma still can't watch or even listen.
) Had to stop at McD's to get them something to eat (which was ok in my book as I dearly needed to use their facilities). Was after 11:30 by the time we actually got home and well after midnight before sleep came.
When we got to DS's, DGS22months took off running to his room. Figured he was either playing shy or figured I was there to babysit. WRONG. Followed him in to see him pulling things out of one of his toy bins. Asked him what he was looking for -"Puppy". DSGD14 pulled one out of his crib -"NO". She brought the one in from the living room that I had brought him from FL -"PUPPY!". Hugged him and gave him to me to hug and was very happy. That boy forgets NOTHING.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
First 45 min. Round done pruning branches off the one that fell off in the back yd. Taking a bit of a breather now.
More to do but counting this for arm exercise. More coffee please! I was coughing but lungs have cleared out and I am breathing better now.
I need to move the saw horses to the back yd. So we can
Work on these more easily later.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Good Morning!
LO is floundering without a schedule. He keeps asking "what are we going to do next?" I thought he would enjoy not having a schedule to follow and would just naturally "chill out". Wrong! He thrives on a schedule. I'm going to have to put something together so he can settle down. The funny part (to me) is that I'm going to SCHEDULE him some time to "chill out..
This morning we combined counting to 100 while practicing bouncing basketball. Then we practiced T-ball batting. I tried to distract him by waving hands, jumping up/down and saying silly things while he kept his eye focused on the ball. He is improving!
Next up -
** put LO schedule together
** pay medical bill
** process MPB daily gross

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Amazing how your processes have built that in to him already, Okay. WTG actually. Love the 'chill out' part of the schedule! He thrives on a schedule.
Feel better now -have all my morning routine stuff done and got the groceries put away -except those I'm about to make into a dish. Dh will think I've been (very) busy. Ha ha -little does he know of routines.
So much for a stellar weekend (at least so far) -it's pouring. Been very gray all morning -which helped me 'sleep in' I'm sure.
I was even going to take a walk shortly -think it will wait.
I had cleaned out and organized my two top dresser drawers the other day. Put all the 'left overs' in a medium sized bin. Yesterday I finished filling it with everything that was on the dresser top. I brought the bin out last night (so it wouldn't be hidden away in the closet) and plan to inch by inch put everything away that's in that basket. There's a lot of odds & ends. Hopefully there's plenty of 'like things' to put together somewhere. That's my project for today. Was going to go up and do a LOL but think it will wait.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Been trying to get here, now I'm out of time. Typing fast...
Thinking about Bookie's smoke...DH replaced our 4-slice toaster with new one. It's bigger, I don't like the space it takes up. But two of the 4-slice springs no longer worked and to keep it toasting DH would jam the plastic handle into the spring slot ...and then walk away and forget it. Naturally it would not ever stop toasting (or in our case burning) until the handle was removed.
Sigh it is hard remembering all his stuff and mine also. His brain power isn't getting any better. Keeps leaving the outside hose on and with the heat that's bad so it finally sprung so many leaks we need to replace. He couldn't remember to shut it off and drain after watering his fruit trees.
Speaking of trees, they are most always dangerous to be over top or in the vicinity of a septic. Kathryn, your new contract sounds a bit more fair.
Harriet, thinking of dgbaby coming soon...how did it get to be 9 months so quickly? she must have been pretty far along when you told us...or my brain is also not remembering things much.
I'm not having a good day. I could tell I was in a bad way mentally when I first got up. Nervous and overloaded with "stuff" happening and going to happen this weekend. DSisiLaw is driving me nuts, we will be building a house for her and she is doing the plans/bids and is running around at 100mph and she doesn't understand that she is not our only job and things proceed nicely but not at warp speed.
I'm grateful for the work but there's a lot of nonsense happening at both jobs. Subs are busy and scheduling is a problem. Homeowner decided to build a shade arbor where we are working and inspector said NO get a plan now that this is part of the jobsite...and we told him to wait. big huge problem. 2 other subs called in to fix their problems... sigh...
I can't do all this. I am going to explode.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Harmony: when I read your posts I feel blessed that our work seldom requires relying on others for us to deliver!
Master bathroom is cleaned for this week.
Dd pointed out to me that I can't move any batteries with the mover. So posting on FB was a good thing, I had missed that when I read the list of items not allowed.
I'm moving very slowly this morning and full of crankiness. I so desperately need a good night's sleep. Tonight I will try melatonin. Normally it doesn't help with getting to sleep (my current problem - it is taking 60 - 120 minutes for me to fall asleep lately), in only helps with helping me get back to sleep when I wake up in the night. But it is worth a shot. If that doesn't work, I'll try a gravol or drowsy anti-histamine. Either will knock me out for 36 hours so I need to wait until Sunday night. This can't go on for the rest of the time until we move - I'll make myself sick. I'm desperately afraid of a relapse of hepatitis or gall bladder issues and my body's reaction to high fat food lately (instant feeling of being unwell) is a sign that I'm probably borderline right now.
Had a major meltdown after dinner last night. Had put on a Harry Belafonte album to work to and when a certain song came on I flashed-back to sitting in a concert with my Dad and the two us singing along and how I didn't want the song to end because it felt so good. Then I was overwhelmed with missing my Dad and how this was the last place I saw him and how could I move away from here because he won't be connected at all to my new home. Dh wisely went and worked in the garage so he didn't have to listen to the sobbing.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
((Kathryn))
Noon ci:
x WW, down a tad but I suspect that is b/c I was wearing capris instead of jeans
x Costco - ordered cake, bought some snacks, made mental notes re: what to get the week of the party so it will be fresh: hummus, rolls for the bbq, and the veggie trays of course.
x put everything away
x took care of a couple band uniform parent volunteer emails
x washed out all the glasses in the dw; got some gunk blown into them.
x boiled some eggs
x browsed web sites looking for materials appropriate to help my tutee with an issue I've identified; not finding much. I'll check a book I have and then I might just create my own activity.
x lunch
Time to get going again:
- finish a.m. routine
- keep laundry going
- prep for tutoring

Re: Let's Conga Friday
(Kathryn). Moving is so hard.
I'm blessed that I'm not a really sentimental person. I think I mentally "shut that door" when I had so many years with H#1 who was always on the verge of dying. 19 years of that taught me to be pretty strong.
However, I did stand in the corner of my rental house and cry a bit the last evening we were there. DH was just
. He never gets attached to a house because they are "jobs and income" to him.
Sitting here eating my breakfast/lunch.
I've finished work on one file. Conversation with DH about his sister's job and how she's doing things with me. Big fax sent off. I went through a stack of trade magazines and got them in recycle bin. Logged checks.
Not much but it's forward motion.

Re: Let's Conga Friday
Never would have thought of batteries, Kathryn. Lots of hugs btw. You have a lot on your plate -probably even more than you realize.
Made DPC to dsisil -left a message. She called me back. Knew it would be lengthy and it was. Got dh fed in the meantime. She gave me a snapshot of their trip north. Figure they'll be here around June 22nd or so (for how long -I have no idea, hopefully no more than 3 days. It's a little difficult having them here in the RV). Did tell her that dh's days off are Sun/Mon. That should help them a little bit and maybe we can plan to do something on one of those days, though I know not what!
It's stopped raining for the moment -hope it starts clearing up.
I've been working on that bin of what nots and have it down to an inch or so of things remaining. I can do this (in much less time than I allotted to it).

Think we always need to remember just that, Harmony. Something is better than nothing any day! Need to write that down to post somewhere where I'll see it!Not much but it's forward motion.
