Last ci; I'm going to pack my laptop.

Done:
x lunch
x everything is packed in suitcase and handbag
x all clothes laundry is folded and put away; 1 load of sheets folded and put away. 2nd load of sheets is not 100% dry. Dd18 pulled them out a couple days ago. . Wish she had told me they weren't all dry.
x purse and wallet have been purged

Next:
- transfer some items from my van to the car: atlas, garbage bag, paper towel roll
- start loading the car

We'll stop by the library as we leave town.

Feeling excited! Trying not to think of the messy house I'm leaving behind and the party that will be happening 5 days after I return.

((OKay)) did you stay upright and hang on to the frames? If so, you were better coordinated than I when I took my fall trying to stop the momentum of the pyrex and lids. The blow didn't go right to your eye, did it? My blow was above the eye but for the longest time I had this odd feeling it affected the eye, anyway. I had to keep reassuring myself that I had a thick skull! And that it was there to take the slings and arrows of misfortune for me! Hope the bruising goes down soon.

OKay, I hope your dear aunt has excellent caregiving and an ease of pain.

Hmmm... .... all these villagers saying they are 8-) cool.

Not that I doubt it at all :D but temperature wise, are you sure???? We are scalding here! Supposed to hit 91 here. In May? Dear me.

Have checked on the chickens over and over today. Now we are very spooked about their well-being. HRH was out in the early evening several times just kinda patroling. He will be bringing home grower feed, "snake away powder" and some more solar lights this afternoon. I'm just now remembering those german shepherd silhouettes for coyotes and the scent stuff to go with them. Maybe that's needed.

I'd probably be making a lot of progress if I could get started wending...

OMM...
[ ] call dmom
[ ] reconcile checkbook statement
[ ] finish laundry
[ ] iron
[ ] walk
[ ] take quilt to dsgm to * hopefully * repair
[ ] babysit dgs while ddil goes to walk-in clinic (stomach distress)
[ ] whb
[ ] s/s toilets

(((BIG HUGS))) for (((OKay))) -- for your own pain and for family concerns w/daunt...

I don't think I'm going to be very cool today, Harriet... let me see... (checking phone app) -- well, I'm cooler than you! ;) Predicted high of 84 today... I see we'll be up to 90 by Sunday & Monday, though...

Hope you have a GREAT trip, helia!!!

Saying a prayer for your dh's company employee needs, Nancy. Actually -- that's good that they are looking for workers, I think. So many people need jobs these days. Of course, I can certainly see how EXPERIENCE is a priority in heavy construction jobs... so -- praying they match very good employees with much needed jobs!

(((Kathryn)))

I don't eat raw onions, either, Dee, but I love grilled/carmelized onions.
BTW -- how are things going w/dgd15? Your dd is so often on my mind... I just can't imagine what she must go through, trying to find a solution to this situation.

Waving to all!!! I have serious doubts I'll cover that whole OMM list today -- well, no, there's no doubt about it, I know I won't get it ALL done -- but I promise to have something to check off when I return!

GD15 is still in 'limbo', LucyLee. Know dd appreciates all the prayer warriors she can get. GD is at home right now and dd is hard put to keep her occupied. Not sure what's happening during the school week except one of dd's co-teachers has her I THINK. Wasn't too sure as I saw she was on FB last night and they do not have internet. Scares me with some of the things she's posting. Nothing really bad, just can be enticing to others I fear. Finally had to tell dd the other night that she had put out an 'invite' to come visit her without actually giving her exact address -at least on FB itself -what she did 'chatting' could be another story. DD had removed her from her FB just so GD wouldn't know her every move when she had access to internet. They're still waiting for an opening at a Group Home and that may not happen until July/August. She's down to only one now that will accept her. (But as she says: "I don't have a problem, everyone else does and they all need to change, not me".). But from all the reports from various places, they've all, except the one, have said it wouldn't be a good fit, that she needs more therapy than they're prepared to give.

Have laundry bins ready and waiting -going to the laundry room and do a couple of loads. Trying to time this so I can go to the post office when the window is open -after 3. Guess I need to wait just a little bit.

Morning ya'll...

Just buzzing through this morning and waving HI to ya'll.

Have a long list and am heading to the WM, then I have several other errands to do after that. Hopefully I won't run out of stream. got sucked in to my ancestry stuff this morning...its a love/hate relationship lol

I'm with Okay in the ouch that hurts department. Yesterday I was working out in the backyard and went to adjust the back of the lounge chair. Somehow I miss calculated or something and the heavy metal back frame came crashing down on the top of my head. Ooohhh, it hurt then and I knew it would be hurting today. Tender, tender to touch that's for sure.

The crash was almost hard enough to consider a mild concussion and I got to giggling when thinking how I could ever explain this to the ER room. Can you imagine the description on my chart...concussion caused by lounge chair attack

Gotta go... cy'all later.........

I wrote a list of rooms, 15, to = 15 min. x each room = 180 min. = 3 HOURS! So since that's too much for 1 day, I've decided to take the rooms, make them into groups, then begin my round robin like that. For instance:

round 1 = kitchen, dining & great room
round 2 = main/guest bathroom, powder room
round 3 = entry way hall & utility room
round 4 = master bedroom & master bathroom
round 5 = my office & the main office
round 6 = bunny room, walk-in closet & walk-in pantry

That total, for 15 min. per round = 90 minutes, which is a good amount of activity a day, especially if I do a 1/2 hour walk, too.

Am not in the "best" of moods. Frustrations. Wanted to sleep in, but DH decided to take an early shower, so I was up. :!: :!: I wanted to SLEEP because I see the dentist later today, to "see" if I need a root canal or new crown or what. I wanted to sleep my troubles away. But DH got going, which got me going & I did s2s, etc.. I'm in an ankle-length Muumuu & cried because Maya Angelou died, I read 1 book of hers, fell in love with it, so will be sure to get more, & research her writings on-line, too. Then, I got to my laptop, a scan was going on its own, it wouldn't let me on-line, I had to wait until the scan ended, then I STILL couldn't get on-line. So did a re-start & here I am. ;) I'll put on my dentist clothes later, which are cute. Jeans with a fleece jacket & purple 3/4-length v-neck tee. I like to look nice when I go out, even if I feel terrible. :) Because it makes me present myself better & I feel better. :)

Cowinkie, I'm glad you're okay! :!: Ouch!

(((Dee))) & DD, I'm sorry GD15 is still in 'limbo'. :(

Nancy, Glad your hens are all right! :)

Lucylee, I hope your DDIL will be okay. I get Gastritis. It's painful & annoying. I hope she doesn't have that.

Helia, Have a GR8 trip!

(((Kathryn)))

OKay, I bet you look horrible, but I'm glad you're all right. Will you need to see the Dr.? :?: ...... Good luck on options for your extended family, so sorry about your DAunt ((( )))), and you have so much going on. Hoping DUncle finds the long term care policy. Everybody needs so much help. Wow. You're so right: Heartbreak & chaos. :(

Our 2 books have been transferred to the P. O. from UPS now, to arrive tomorrow. Will be so nice to get them. I believe they'll be good reads for DH & me. "The Closer," for him, :) about a famous NY Yankees retired pitcher & "The Invention of Wings," by Sue Monk Kidd, for me. :)

Have a nice Wending Wednesday, Everyone! :D

I just ordered "Why the Caged Bird Sings," by Maya Angelou, for my Nook. I'm so glad I'll be able to read it. I saw the movie years & years ago. I knew then, it'd be a good book. There was a local U of W professional writer in a teaching position who knew Maya & she talked about her. She said the book I ordered today was one of her greatest books. She said she was very down-to-earth, friendly, chatty, & never made you feel inferior. But once, at an airport, I believe, somebody told her, could you hold these tickets, while they did something. Maya said, "My Dear, do you think a woman wearing a MINK COAT holds tickets?" It's too funny! ,

(((OKay))) Face bumps really hurt, not to mention how we look after. We may think we are practical and not vain but when I split my lip by knocking a clock off the wall and 'catching' it with my fix, I was really upset and the scar still bothers me.

Dd's movers are packing her place today. She was up until 3 a.m. getting ready for them. They arrived and said they'd be done at noon so she could make plans for the afternoon (to which she replied "I'll sleep!") They are still going strong and now are worried they won't finish up by the end of the day because either she has more stuff than they thought or they underestimated their ability to work fast.

I really need to get back to work. Finished off the last box upstairs (for the time being) so I shall return to the paintings now. Dh is attending a webinar this afternoon but between his morning conference call and afternoon seminar he got the tire rack converted to sit on the ground in our parking spot at the building.

I'm panicking about the bike storage. On FB, everyone is telling me that the bikes will be stolen if they are left in the common area. We weren't planning on leaving them there at first because it is currently just a corner of the garage, but the management is building a secured bike room that needs our front door pass to enter (and only those with bikes in it will have passes that work.) Apparently, that's not any safer. Both balconies have floor to ceiling windows so bikes stored there will clutter our view and I hadn't envisioned my luxury apartment foyer having two bikes in it! They aren't the right colour to go with my mahogany. Dh's in particular is an ugly blue.

Sigh... I've packed all the dvds and tapes. Decided I wanted to watch something while I pack paintings. Netflix Canada is experiencing problems right now and will be back online shortly.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Going to be wending my way to work shortly.

My days off goes too quickly.

I don't have much energy today at all, didn't yesterday either. Hoping it will pass soon.

Think I might try the round robin approach the next time I'm off.

Hope the baby comes soon Harriet!

Great day to all!

Hello, villagers ~
We had a series of storms come to Tiny Town yesterday beginning in the afternoon and lasting through the evening, so the computer stayed off. I watched a funny movie instead of being online.

First thing this morning I went up to the library to set up for the annual book sale. No one in the group could remember why we scheduled to set up this early when the sale doesn't start until Saturday. Maybe it was just that this was the day that everyone could come to help. There were 10 of us, and it was really nice to have so many volunteers.

I also had to dismantle the LEGO projects from the display case. I didn't have time to totally take them apart, I did just enough so that they would fit in a box that I could tuck away on a shelf in the storage area. I will finish that job sometime next week.

Reminder to self -- before Saturday I need to
* make several signs for prices
* get change from the bank
* ask library staff about any last-minute additions to the sale tables
* make a display for silent auction items
* post daily notes on FB about what we are selling

Carrying heavy boxes full of books and walking around on the concrete floor for almost 5 hours straight have done bad things to my back and feet. Lunch was late because I didn't realize I'd be at the library so long so I didn't take a break. I kept thinking I was finished and then finding 1 more thing that had to be done before I could leave.

It has felt very good to sit and cuop, while sipping first a big glass of water and then an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade). I'll probably go up for a little snooze in a bit, and wait until after supper to start laundry.
