Good morning, villagers ~

Today's 6x6:
* continue prep for tomorrow's book sale
* bank deposit for library group
* get change for the book sale (need to look up my notes from last year)
* try to find the few groceries we need here in Tiny Town instead of taking the time to drive to The Big City (I'll pay more per item, but the time & gas savings will be worth it)
* finish menu plans for next month's sewing day camp
* 2 loads of laundry

I always enjoy the annual book sale. We have some regular patrons who come every year, and everyone is in a good mood. It is a fund raiser, but it's also a way to bring people into the library, so we keep the prices really low -- hard cover books for 50 cents, paperbacks for 25 cents, audio books and DVDs 50 cents. Every item is in good shape and clean. That's for this first Saturday. Then next Saturday the deal gets even better: pay $5 and take out as many books as you want, and we even provide the boxes for carrying.

Their life is in crisis, so it isn't time for them to make decisions how to solve this

That's one of the reasons we are doing things now. We are both healthy and reasonably mentally in a good space (there were just 'words' here across the table.)

My lack of sleep at this moment is really affecting me physically and emotionally. My hand loosened on two mugs I had picked up to move to the apartment and in my jerk reaction to catch one before it hit the counter, the other struck the counter. I was holding fast so there was nothing to give and the handle broke off. Ironically, I had decided this week the other was not going to be kept once everything was unpacked. The one that broke came from ds so I'm really upset. At this point 99% of the stuff left unpacked is stuff I really love and use (current everyday dishes excepted but they'll never break!) So anything getting broke now is going to bring on a major response from me.

I need to go get dressed. I've been measuring things, trying to fill some of the nooks and crannies between radiators and pillars. Not having a lot of luck, most of our things are quite big. We really need to stop trying to do this because it takes time and will be more easily solved once everything is at the apartment. We saw a nice kitchen cart yesterday that dh would like to get. It matches the counter height perfectly, fits in the space we have and is basically perfect except for a dark wood top instead of lighter wood like the rest of my things. The base is even black. For $200 it solves our issues so at this point I think I'll just spend the money and have the extra counter space and space to store things on the shelves underneath.

I should have set aside a budget for improvements so we'd know we could spend money without having to worry. In fact there is some money set aside in our retirement budget for this but it isn't quite the same thing. Bonus money will come the first of July so that will help me feel better about things. There's enough to pay for the septic, the movers and have some left over for curtain rods and counters and cupboard storage solutions.

I've also ended up with two extra sets of drawers and am considering what to do with them. I think they'll end up in closets. They were to go in the kitchen but we seem to have run out of room.

Would be nice if dd could at least 'start' today & have that little guy on your birthday -agree with Lilac there. Sure she's more than ready to have this 'load lifted'.

The Heat is ON...is the weather forecast around here. the daily temp will hit 107* by this afternoon. We are 8* above normal for this time of the year. All I can say is...UGGGGG

Kathryn ..so happy for you that your move is going along well and that you are able to enjoy your balcony. Know Harriet is tapping her foot waiting for the new blessed event. When I was pregnant I had both premature and false labor. The Dr.s office said I would never make it to my due date and to plan an earlier baby shower. However no one gave that message to my son and he arrived 3 weeks AFTER my due date

Okay and Kathryn... Sweetie and I were responsible for taking care of homes after his mother and his father and stepmother died. I learn the same lessons about "stuff" Because my son is an only child, I am very conscience of what I keep in my life. My big summer project is to redo my office closet. My way of decluttering is to ask myself...would my son dearly love this??? It answers the question of whether I need to keep something or get rid of it..

I don't use plastic bins, I use banker note boxes to store my "stuff" in. They are easy to label, stack well on shelves and are in expensive. I try to keep my son in mind when I declutter. I've moved many, many times over my life...18 times that I can count. During that time i owned several houses that were 3500 sq ft or more. Moving like that keeps you focused on what is important. I have a desk that I need to declutter again. This summer I plan to go through all my boxes and mark them,,, Important or Toss. My hope is it will help my son if need be.

I also have a file marked... And when I'm Gone. Both Sweetie and my son know about it. The file contains an updated list of friends, where I hidden my stash of valuables and a list of several other important things. This gives me peace of mind.

Today I hope to visit the LDS geneolgy center here in Mesa. Then I have a graduation party to attend. I have had several long lost cousins contact me. They both descend from my great-great-great-great grandfather. I will be going home this July to visit my mom and I hope to have this "mystery" solved by then.... I am VERY close by the way

Handlebar grips arrive in mail so I put them on LO scooter. The scooter is about 15 years old and has been used by three DGS's before LO decided it is now his "favorite" mode of self propelled travel. However, the handlebars were so worn out they were a safety issue. Glad it was an easy solution.

Next up -
** 3 minute Round robin in each room
** wash dish drainer of dishes....I think this round will return Kitchen to MM
** Bounce basketballl 100 times non-stop with LO. This means we will bounce ball for about 30 minutes until he can reach 100 times in a row without a mistake

Dmiddle son -R was due June 2nd. Early May dr started saying any time -he's ready! May I add DS-R arrived June 24th and btw only weighed 6lb 7oz. All my last 3 were 3 or more weeks late. DS-A was the heaviest however at 9.5 pounds.

Have to say here that the family of the State Trooper hit and killed on route 81 near Binghamton yesterday are all in my prayers. I searched it on the net & knowing my dnephew is a State Trooper in that very area, I did a double take, both when I saw the picture of the trooper and looked below at his name -same first name as dnephew. The similarity in their appearance, as I remember dnephew -have not seen him in a few years- was uncanny. Though I started breathing again -am so sad that this was such a needless death of yet another public servant.

Well it looks like I'm staying home. Tummy is still upset and I need to have access to a restroom instantly at times. That isn't always possible, yesterday the large bathroom was closed for repairs which left the small one in the back which was constantly full.

Thinking it might be some yogurt I ate yesterday which might have been past its expired date. Came as a package of 4 and the outer package is gone so don't know when it expired but know I bought it over a week ago. The remaining one is going to the garbage today.

So will try to catch up on my rest too.

Best time to lose a day's pay as I got paid for the holiday Monday. Thought it would be extra but at least I'll get what I usually get.
