Good morning all! Yes, it is actually morning and I have been up for a while (did Hades just freeze?). I have fed and checked on dFosterKitten, whose eye socket now looks scabbed rather than infected. She gets her stitches out tomorrow, so a vet will be seeing her. She is obviously feeling better, running full tilt out the bathroom door whenever it opens. The youngest of the adult fosters chases her and wants to play, but, until the vet clears her to interact with other cats, NOT happening. Maybe having a playmate will stop the adult cat from harassing the queen. I will still get other similar age kittens to form an adoptive litter for the kitten, but it would be truly great if the other cat (whose last kitten was recently adopted) would decide to be momcat to foster babies. (As all foster cats, she is spayed and will not be having more litters of her own!) Goodness knows there are enough stray kittens to make as many litters as I can fit in my house, no worries there.

I skipped art class in favor of a job search related webinar. I did the proper pre-registering stuff, and got confirmation emails, which NOWHERE told me how to get to the webinar! Most aggravating! I did send a message to the people producing it, but will not likely get a reply for several days. Very annoying! Instead, I studied HTML/CSS for my next assessment with the recruiter. The training will take about 7 hours, according to CodeAcademy.com, but I can stop in the middle. Now, I will get dressed for a job fair. I am already dressed, I am not in my pajamas, but I mean get dressed in business clothes. It didn't look like there would be much for me there, but you never know. After I return, I need to type up some minutes for the animal org meeting last night, do more job search stuff, and more studying. Then, it is off to art class. After which, I will have such fun as: checkbook balancing and cleaning my kitchen.

My appeal to the Dept of Workforce Services was successful. I knew it would be, it was just a matter of getting the proof that I already had to the right person. The only surprise was how FAST it got done. Yesterday morning, I got a call from them to confirm my address to send my check. Not even 24 hours later!

SHEwolf , Welcome to our home! It's nice to "meet" you. It's like a home here, at the Village, because everyone makes you feel at home.

There is a FOCUS cleaning thread here, which people focus on certain parts of their home, one week at a time, throughout the year. Some people do Round Robins, but different people do different amounts of minutes in their rooms, for their rounds. Some are 3 minutes, some are 5 or 15 minutes. Also, you can break the home up into sections, for each round, like 2 - 3 rooms per round, to get more done. I guess we more are into challenging ourselves and then post for validation or motivation so we're accountable to ourselves. Also, there is a Ta-Da, which people do, which is motivating. Some people write their "to do" list for the day, then come back, edit it, and mark an "X" where they got things done. Anyway, these are things I've seen here.

Kathryn , When I had major surgery in 2005, I printed up a little smiley face on the computer with a note saying "THIS IS TEMPORARY; THIS WILL PASS." It's still above my DW cabinet, inside the door, so when I put mugs and glasses away, it makes me smile because from 2005 - 2014 are a lot of years of temporaries passing! Perhaps a little poster written on a 3 x 5 card with a cute sticker, inside your file box or inside a cupboard door would help you feel more relaxed and less overwhelmed. You can put it in a place where only "you" see it, if your DH frowns upon such things, like MINE does.

I s2s, got dressed, did my hair, got my watch on, which I forgot all day yesterday, earrings are in, teeth are brushed. I'm pretty tired today. I washed/made the bed by myself yesterday, got pillowcases on 2 extra pillows, 1 for my dgrson-17, coming to visit, and 1 extra 1 for me to elevate at night, b/c of Gastritis acting up again like it did 1 year ago at this time. Too weird. Anyway, I slept well, which is so nice. Night before last was a recliner night's sleep. But I'm feeling better, so far, this a.m.

Am trying to decide if I want to do housework, crochet and listen to music, write a friend, work on outlines, or read while DH is gone for a few hours today. I have my work to do, have titles, so would love to outline, since I'm ready to "GO"! But then I think about DD coming on Father's Day, how I want to change the tablecloth, etc... and don't want cleaning hitting me all at once on Saturday, wearing me out so I'm worth nothing on Sunday and am too tired to be conversational and happy. I think I'll do an outline, then go do housework.

One thing that's sorta funny, between DH and me, is how several years ago, shortly after our 2004 move into here, I found a gigantic Father's Day card from wife to DH. I re-give it to him EVERY year, he laughs, we display it, and it's become a little love-joke between us.

I was resting yesterday, started thinking about my stationery chest in my small office with sunflowers on it, the big vase of silk sunflowers, and so many red, orange, gold, yellow colors (for energy!) in my office. Then it hit me how I had an Anne Geddes sunflowers picture with a baby in the center of a bunch of sunflowers and knew it'd look so nice in my office with everything else. It was in the Bunny Room, above the sofa, so I didn't want to stand on the sofa, so I put 1 foot on the sofa seat, one foot on the floor, stretched real hard to get the picture and picture hanger down- and pulled a glute, last p.m., but this a.m. it's okay. It's just a pulled muscle on the bone below the waist in back, the sacrum.

I put a pink jacquard tablecloth on the table with decor and place mats. Pretty!

Happy Thundering Thursday, Everyone! We have a 40% chance of t-storms here. My kitty cat hates them because she was rescued by a rescue shelter in a week of t-storms she was in, while at the door of an elderly couple who couldn't take her in. Someone told them about the rescue shelter, they called the director, and she was upset with them that they hadn't put out any box with a towel OR water OR food or anything. But they were old and didn't want to take in another cat, so they were up in arms what to do. So my little kitty cat, at a young age, was on their doorstep for a week in T-storms. I'm so happy I found her, a Tortoise Shell cat, and she's so much cute company. ♥ She's like a watch dog, too, protecting me when DH is gone, if a man comes to the door!

I only have 1 minute left on my timer. Oh, SHEwolf , some of us use timers to motivate ourselves, too, but being a SHE, you probably already know!

Hi everybody! Welcome SheWolf!

I went to my storage unit to work on papers for a bit. Spent a lot of time just sitting and pondering. Decided that I had to deal with at least 10 pieces of paper before I left, and got into one of the older file folders and dealt with most of that folder that was about an inch thick. Once again, I left with one bag of garbage and a pile of stuff to shred.

Mike is gone for the rest of the day/evening, so I should be able to get some stuff from my dad's put away.

This morning I rolled out of bed & immediately hopped onto the treadmill. That seems to be the only way I can guarantee to get my walk each day. Then I *rewarded* myself with a cup of coffee and a walk through the garden while the sun peeked over the horizon and painted the sky.

After making grilled cheese/balogna/fried egg sandwiches for breakfast, I grabbed 3 sacks and stuffed them full of paperwork. Then it out the door to LO ball camp. While LO learned ball skills, I kept an eye on him from the SUV.....where I had prepared a mobile desk. During those 3 hours I logged 308 papers!! FINALLY, I've made significant progress on the paperwork backlog! I know I only logged the papers and not actually processed them, but now I know what is/was hidden in the paperwork stacks. I can sort them by date, category and/or search for a needed paper. I thought I had pulled the time critical papers out of the stack but I found a couple papers with big fine/penalty if they aren't processed on time.

At the urging of a couple of Mothers, I took LO to eat at school summer lunch program. He loved it. The program is to make sure all children have access to food but it is free for all children. In our small town, it has turned into a children social hour where they gather, eat and talk non-stop. I feel kinda funny taking LO to a "poor folks" program, but they are begging for the children to come so they can keep the program going. Adults can eat too for a small charge ($3.50).

Before we left the house this morning, I made manwich and started the bread maker. The house smelled wonderful and DH/my lunch was ready when we arrived home.

LO is down for a nap. I have his ball suit in the washer. We leave in 3 hour to go to his next ballgame.

Hi again! I am back from the job fair, which had nothing for me. However, on the way out, I heard someone ask the job fair people where the autism conference was. They didn't know and suggested the front desk, which redirected them properly. I followed them. The conference was full up, but I talked with one of the organizers and now have a contact number and people to talk to! They usually work with children younger than DD12, but occasionally someone like her slips through the cracks for a while.

I am online to fix my XM radio subscription. Mine broke, so I bought a new one today. I know it sounds incredibly stupid to buy a new radio when unemployed, but the radio was $49.99 with a $50 rebate, so I am only paying tax (about $3). Since the subscription is paid up for several more years, it does not make sense not to use it. After I log off here, I am going to activate it.

After that, I am going to eat something, do some more job search stuff, then go to art class.

Elizabeth - great find with the radio! Is that sale/refund still available? I just realized an XM radio would make a great Fathers Day gift.

I've processed the paperwork to purchase the 2015 decals for MPB vending. Glad to have that off my must-do list.

Next up -
** Wash/dry/curl hair.....why am I going to curl it to go sit in hot sun on a windy day. Makes no sense to me.
** wake LO and get him into uniform
** prepare 3 thermos of ice water

I am tired and don't feel great. Somehow my tummy has been feeling weird all day and I've had a headache going. I wondered if the tummy stuff was from the Ibuprofen I took for my head, but the tummy is still unsettled.

I picked up meals for dmom and then went there to visit and refill her meds boxes. Then went to neighboring town to meet with attorney re paper work to petition court to sell dsis' house. Also discussion of dmom and what effect her death would have on dsis' medicaid. More work for me to do, including discussion w dmom regarding will. I think this attorney is simply weird and in some ways makes me quite uncomfortable. Dh wanted me to get some attorneys that are friends to do this and I resisted because two have kind of brushed me off...they may not have the bandwidth to do it (when they have work that pays better) and second I suspect they don't necessarily have this type of expertise.

I ended up going by the temple to sign cks. Stuffed envelopes to help office mgr/secretary and pointed out two member names spelled wrong. She's notorious for lack of attention to detail IMHO - I don't know that she appreciated my help.

Anyway I am home for evening. Need to walk ddogs at some pt but not sure I even want to eat anything.

Tomorrow is funeral at temple for member who is friend to everyone. When dh and I were newly married, they invited us for several Jewish holidays, and last year invited us to Thanksgiving dinner. I think that ds may take off work to go with us.

I also need to do clean up in the a.m. for the dcleaning lady. Glad to have nothing else on the agenda tomorrow. We have a Sat a.m. b'nai mitzvah and Sat p.m. party.

Got almost everything out of my trunk except for my grandmother's 2 washing machines. My grandfather's 2 planes (for planing wood) are in storage with my older (deceased) brothers 3 wooden golf clubs and his golf bag. I put his (my brother's) lacrosse stick in the spare room behind the rocking chair in the corner. There is a LOT of Native Indian art in there, including the sage, cedar, tobacco, speaking feather and smudge bowl, so adding the lacrosse stick was perfect. (Lacrosse was and still is a very native Canadian game. I learned how to play it in high school.)

Most of the stuff is away. My mom's stuff is in her cabinet that my dad gave me back in the 80's when I married h number 1. I have a picture of the cabinet with me in front of it and there are some Centennial glasses in a shelf in the cabinet. Those glasses are now back in that cabinet. Not in the same place, but good enough. There are numerous small things now in the cabinet as well.

It feels so good.

LO team won their game tonight so play again tomorrow. That means another day of spending minimum of 6 hours at the ball field. >>>insert sunburned Happy face<<<<< . It also means I won't make it to DAunt funeral or FNG at DFriends home tomorrow.

Just when I decided to get an XM radio for DH, Amazon Prime released over a million free songs. Now I need to find a device that will play Amazon mp3 for DH.

Harmony - I think it was you that asked what kind of tea everyone drinks. I drink Bigelow Green Tea most every afternoon.
