Morning ya'll...

Been up for a while and everything is where it should be. Little to do around the house but a small amount of maintenance stuff which I have already done.

I will be spending a good part of my day doing desk work. Sweetie and I are spending a week on Amelia Island during the second week of Sept. Plans have been made, but need to make all the traveling arrangements. Already did the research yesterday so now its just making the actual reservations for travel and a car.

I am excited about this trip because Amelia Island is on our list of possible places to retire in the coming years. I lived in Florida many years ago so I am familiar with the east coast of Florida. Sweetie has never spent time there so this will be time to explore and enjoy these beaches. We also love the Myrtle Beach area too.

I also need to work on travel plans for my upcoming trip to my mom's. We are planning a day, perhaps two, trip to explore the area in which our 4th G-father lived. We will be visiting the cemetery and church where he was first married and then buried. There is also a second church we will be visiting. This is where he was married for a second time.

I have been in contact with a man who is an historian for the area. We hope to meet with him while there. Also my new-to-me cousin is planning to join us. However her husband is dealing with some medical issues so we have to wait and see how he is doing before she can come.

Less than a week after I get home, I do a turn-around trip to visit my son in Dallas. There is a new "girl" in his life...actually she's been around for sometime, but he's been keeping their relationship close to his heart. This past week he finally "friended" her and over the weekend posted a picture of themselves on FB. Told Sweetie that this makes it official.

Dinner is planned and I am again making double batches so I can freeze extras for Sweetie's dinners while I am gone. I told him about setting up "Daily" cards for him to use and although Sweetie is a super BO he likes the idea.

Off I go...hope ya'll are finding time to enjoy your day. We're having a cooler day today...temps are only 101* but our humidity has gone from 4% to 52%. That is an indication that the monsoon storm season is on its way. The storms usually show up in the late afternoons, so we shall see...

Doing a conga Monday here & yes a makeover is needed so we can get on with daily life and routines here. I have swept and mopped the kitchen. Did dump ths trash as well. Changed hand towels by all the sinks plus I have picked up a hot spot or two and more coffee is going now. It is looking better so I am pleased with the progress. I hope you are all making progress as well!

Next up dining room is in much need of attention.

Oooooh, I am so enjoying doing nothing so far today! I need to leave soon tho to sign cks at the temple and then for body work at 1:30. (Rescheduled from last Thursday when I didn't have time.) When I get back later I will need to do some makeovers here - finish up a.m. routine and figure out the rest of the week. I need to visit dsis and need to get guest bedroom ready for houseguests next week. Dh and I need to look at houseguest schedule also and figure out what entertaining we need to do along the way.

On my 10 x 5 list so far:
:D Re-made the bed.
:D Put out hot spots.
:D Dusted the master bedroom.
:D Dusted the main office.
:D Wrote my a. m. "to do" list.
:D Wrote my tomorrow's 10 x 5 list.
:D Cleaned out and organized end table GR8 room end table drawers.
:D Cleaned the kitchen counters.
:D Cleaned out the kitchen junk drawers.

LATER- I'll do LOL after Dgs showers, after DH and Dgs return from the woods. I'll get it caught up, so the last thing on my list will most likely be done by 5 p.m. Will report later.

I also phoned in a prescription, filled and am running the DW, put dirty laundry in the utility room, wrote in 1 journal, am about to write in another, and then write a story by hand.

Ramblinrose, Amelia Island sounds like a wonderful vacation. :D :D

Nancy, Go-Go-Go, Girl! You're being productive, too! :D

Kathryn, I whine when I'm grumpy and in pain, too. :( When I hurt, I get cranky.

I'm off to do some more yoga stretches, have some peach herbal tea, relax, and write-write-write.

Ds' flight is early. He'll be here in 3.5 hours. I've gotta run errands now - I'm doing all the last of the returns so there's room for him and his bags, and dd and dsil in the car!

I'm so excited, I'd rather just sit here and relish the thought that he's on his way. But off I go!

Oh, wow, Kathryn. I hadn't realized ds was coming home so soon!! :) Maybe you can use your excitement as motivation. . .

Things are moving slowly here. I have:
x finished the a.m. routine
x folded and put away 1 lol
x tried to get ahold of ESL dept. at comm. college. I wonder if it is purposeful that I cannot find a phone number or office number?? For any depts?
x made menu plan. I'm keeping it simple. I'm also planning to bring a meal this week (tomorrow?) to the church family whose care team I'm on.
x made groc. list; had to look up a recipe for this

Ready to go to the groc. store now.

It is hot and muggy after the rain this a.m. I will not be jogging outside, that's for sure!

Hello Dear Ladies,

Stopping by briefly while I grabbed a bite to eat. I am on a roll!

Working hard at getting this house back in shape and looking pretty.

Working on laundry, while the twins work away I played beat the clock with them and got dishes cleaned up, counters wiped off, microwave cleaned out. Appliances washed off.

Going to do stretching, weight lifting(3pounds weight for shoulder strengthening) then shower. Will be time to fold clothes by then, load the twin back up again. Want to get the kitchen swept and mopped today too. I have the power!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Today's Appointments:
:D 8:30 - take DS to friends house
:D 10am - meet woman to take yarn (I'm giving some away)
11am - call about fundraiser for DDs trip
4:30pm - hubby home from first day back at work (which he was NOT looking forward to. Praying his jerk boss wasn't too bad today.)
5pm - dinner (roast and potatoes in crockpot, remaining cherry crisp for dessert)
6pm - take kids to their jobs

Today's Focus:
Routines (Morning routine, write daily cards)
Masters Degree (make my assignment list, email prof about missed webinar, read at least 1 hour)
House (15 minutes in basement, 10 minutes in each room)
School Planning (go to classroom to pick up math books for planning, bring home year at a glance pages, drop off items I've collected here, SHE card file?)
Finances (balance checkbook, check bill list (what did I miss?), make a plan)

All errands have been finished. Everything that is colored is done. My mom came over for a cup of coffee and we visited for a bit. I have had my breakfast. And the other two kids have had cereal.

Next up is a round robin of ten minutes in each room.

*Rant Warning*
My BIL lives in our basement. He is a hoarder in the nastiest sense of the word. Our laundry room is also in the basement. We have a laundry chute that goes from the main floor down to the basement. Over the last couple of months of the school year, hubby was doing the laundry. Also, when we have heavy rain fall, there is often water in our basement.

So, at some point, someone decided to empty the laundry chute onto the floor of the laundry room. After that, we had water in the basement. Plus, we discovered that the drain pipe from the bathtub was leaking on the other side of the basement into BILs area.

IT IS FREAKING NASTY DOWN THERE!!!!!

The clothes on the floor are all ruined. BILs area is disgusting. The whole area is GROSS. The truck is already filling up and I have barely made a dent in the mess. BIL is helping but only if I am currently working and ordering him around.

Irritating.

ducky, my dmother used to say: "To teach children to clean, you must clean WITH them." :) (I know, not funny, but it sorta fits. Sorry about the situation.)

Have done the Mall thing. Yuck. If everyone hated shopping as much as me, retail as we know it would cease to exist. Dd is happy with some new tees and I insisted on a necklace for her that I felt was really ideal for dress or casual, so those are good things.

When we got home, noticed that HRH had done some gardening/outdoor chores.

This morning was Desk Day for our household and I did make the mail.

Nancy, happy for you about the new hen. How old exactly, do you know? And what breed? I will be waiting a while on these newer pullets since they are only 11 weeks right now, but I assume the Maran will lay the earliest since the others are larger, heavier breeds.
Whoops! I looked it up and Marans are actually LATE layers even though they are a lighter breed. Sigh. Did you have Marans through to laying age?
