CI:
* Laundry done, first pile of dishes done, plastic jars sterilized for LEGO storage.
* Cans are soaking now to be scrubbed for the recycle bin. I reuse the dirty dishwater to wash the cans so they don't attract bugs into the house or raccoons/possoms into the garage.
* LEGO Club info posted on library's FB page; responded to a couple posts on my personal page.
* Found and printed 6 simple mazes for LEGO club. The little kids in story time will be hearing about pirates and making pirate hats, so I thought the older kids in LEGO Club could hide pirate treasures inside mazes built with LEGO.
* cuop

Next up:
* Exercise
* Shower & wash my hair
* Scrub the cans and clean the sink
* Prepare the salads in mason jars for tonight's supper
* turkey sandwich for lunch

Twins'Mom ~ I was sidetracked yesterday with Weird Al and various other videos, ranging from music to Dr. Who to camping to cooking. Must have been that kind of day. ;) Are you willing to share the snarky forum's url?

Lilac ~ I hope you can have some fun with the camper. I'm still fascinated with teardrop campers but will need to keep dreaming about them another year or 2. So sorry about family troubles. You have had and are having the same weather I am. We're supposed to have a couple hot days and then hopefully cool a bit.

Harriet ~ Yes, any child who arrives that early for a sleepover should expect to be incorporated into the normal daily activities that have to take place before the evening festivities. I'm sure she'll think it's all fun. Remember how much easier it is to do work at someone else's house than your own, and the girls will have a good time whatever they are doing together.

Off to TTapp, bbl.

Wow, Harriet, early arrival for a sleepover tonight, huh?

Lilac, the RV pick up sounds like a real adventure - I'm glad that dh got it home safely. Are you wanting to camp weekends or vacation, or hit the road for longer trips? Glad that dd's house sold - at least that's off her mind.

LM, as I said I use Evernote as a filing system, particularly for dsis and dmom's info, documentation and responses. For each I have a "Permanent file" set up for things that s/b kept long-term (copy of ss card, guardianship court order etc, for dsis, copy of deed for dmom's house, etc.) then a file for each year for receipts, medical reports and notes, etc. I also use Evernote for recipes - have scanned most used recipes into Evernote instead of keeping some cookbooks and a recipe notebook.

I wish I were feeling more productive, however, staying up until 1 a.m. reading stupid things on the internet isn't conducive to a productive day. I need to get sleep cycles settled down - slept very late sat and sun a.m. so trouble getting to sleep on Sat and Sunday evenings, so felt short of sleep yesterday when I got up at 7 a.m. to try to get back on a schedule. Then late night last night makes for additional deficit - hoping for early bedtime and awakening tomorrow.

I need to do desk day stuff today, tomorrow errand day, and Thursday seeing dmom. Dh is out of town from tomorrow a.m. early to Friday noon also so things will be quieter here at home.

(News says Delta is cancelling flights to Israel - I wonder what airline our friends are using for their trip back to Israel and when? They were going to NYC on Sat but I don't know for how long. I bet they would be flying El Al, however, the Israeli airline?)

-fold two loads of laundry (both from last week  )
-refill meds/vitamin container, take meds/vitamins for today
-brush teeth, wash up face et al
-two DPCs
-take care of 10 pieces of paper

Oooh, Bookie, sharing snarky forums info! Getoffmyinternets.net It's like watching a train wreck - there are pages and pages of comments related to Young House love blog. It is almost scary how much these people care about trashing the family, but I can't stop reading it.

I am freezing inside today...

Hello Dear Ladies,

HOT weather is here!

I use awesome notes on my iphone, which I believe is similar to the other programs used. I have several folders, one for dailies and one for weeklies. One for each of the rooms. I have other folders too, like books I am interested in getting. One folder is titled be sure to tell husband....

I put two new folders in it over the weekend, one listing the books I've read and one listing the books I have purchased. I'm doing this for two reasons. One is because Amazon came out with a read as much as you want for 9.99. I'm trying to see how much I actually spend on books to see if this is cost saving for me. And also because I try to play a game with myself since I own a lot of books and want to buy new ones too. I have to read 5 books that I have either e-books or the hard cover and then I can buy a new book.

One of my dearest friends asked over the weekend to take her to the airport on Monday so DH and I did that. She flew to Wyoming where one of her daughters was getting married. It was so hot here but she said she packed a sweater too, because who knows what Wyoming weather might be.

She also gave me a very special gift. It was a quilt that she make out of my dmom's clothes. She worked on it a little at a time and it took her over two years to finish it but it was worth the wait. It is absolutely beautiful! I have it on our bed each day, gives me a really good reason to make it each day. :D :D I take it off each night because I don't want it to get soiled but it is so lovely to look at when I come through my room during the day. And so comforting too, it's like a part of Dmom is still with me. She apologized for the time it took her, but I told her the timing was just right as my heart has been able to heal a bit from Dmom not being here.

We had such an enjoyable visit, I was so glad we were able to take her to the airport.

The news is a bit upsetting now with so much going on and now I see that DH might lose his Obamacare. Not going to stress over it, I'll just pray that things will work out somehow. I know he is not the only one going through this so a solution will be found somehow.

Waving to all! Have a great day!

I'm almost ready to go help DMom.
Ran out of time to make the salads for supper, but the exercise was more important and I needed to do that workout before the day got too steamy.

I'm taking a cooler with ice packs and extra water in the car with me. Even if DMom doesn't need groceries, I will stop on my way home to pick up a few things, so the cooler will be needed. It's an hour drive each way.

I need to stop at the post office and ATM on my way out of Tiny Town.
Must go put up my hair, get the cellphone off the charger, and hit the road.

See y'all tonight.

Sadie, how kind of your friend to give such a meaningful gift.

I see BookSaver is getting ahead of me with exercise.

BookSaver and Twins' Mom -
There is snark and then there is snark. Remarks following news stories usually hold no interest for me. But I remember getting so caught up in the forum about the Hoarders tv show a few years back. :o Some people would be totally unforgiving, some people would share family experience that would make your heart ache for hoarders, and some would try to reconcile the dual feelings most people have, of sympathy and disapproval. It seemed to be fascinating reading. But after "just having" to go there following each episode for a few weeks of the season, I finally became jaded because the same sentiments were being expressed over and over, just by new people who wouldn't bother to read back through posts. Still, the comments by the organizers and therapists on the show were usually worthwhile (not snarky though!). Haven't thought of that in ages! Show ended last year. The still-current H: Buried Alive show doesn't have forums, so I was spared!

Twins' Mom, I immediately thought of you/friends when I saw that news at little restaurant tv as we had a sandwich.

That was not our intention (restaurant) but our (girls') first choice had sign on door - closed because of burst water main! Yipes that really is a problem.

Grocery done - the usual forgotten item remembered as I got back home. Of course.

I guess I should have clarified that the RV is a Class A motorhome. It is a 27 ft. model with low mileage and will sleep 4. They make them a lot bigger but dh says that some campgrounds at lakes limit the length. Also, as excited as our girls were about us getting one, I think dh decided that smaller was better. I think he was afraid that if it slept 8, that we would be taking more grandkids at a time than he would want to deal with. He really wanted to take it for an overnight trip before he leaves on his bike trip but we are out of time.

Twins, we plan to just use it in a 400 mile radius of here, at lakes or to Colorado. Any longer trip will be in a vehicle, staying in hotels.

BookSaver, I am so happy that your dm is able to go home. She is an inspiration to me. At 86, I would like to be as independent and healthy as she was before her fall. It proves that taking care of yourself will help you as you age.

Sadie, I was just overcome with tears reading that your df lovingly made you a quilt using your dm's clothing. What a wonderful, special gift made by a special friend, to be treasured always.

:D Hello, Ladies! :D

I had a morning Dr. appt., will get a referral to a new-to-me eye clinic because for 2 years, the one I went to kept giving me bacterial AND viral pink eye. They're dirty. :x REFUSE to return to them. They made me sit for 1.5 - 2 HOURS and I'd only talk to the Dr. 5 minutes. :?  So, onto a newer reputable clinic it is for me. I'm very happy for the referral. Their office will call me to set up an appt. with an ophthalmologist. I have dry-form age-realated macular degeneration and cataracts in both eyes, the left eye has a epiretinel film over it and I see through a pseudo hole and the right eye has a vetriomacular adhesion, which is being held into place by a filament. On either the left eye OR the right eye, at any time, anything can go wrong, requiring emergency eye surgery. So I was being seen once every 3 months for 1.5 years, nothing ever changed, so 1 year ago, he said to return in1 year. They won't accept Medicaid patients, unless I'm referred to them by my Primary Care Physician, but I DON'T WANT PINK EYE again! So I'm going to a new specialist, I told my Dr. why, he sympathized with me and said, "I won't be sending you back there again." Their chin rests are gummy, feel dirty, I don't hold the hand rests, for fear of what I might pick up, and Adios for me! :!: :!: :!: I know I'm making the right decision, based on my past history with them and 2 years of being patient and having recurring forms of pink eye- every time I go to their clinic, proves that they are NOT the place for me. I'm a' movin' on!

I had a great check-up, too, lungs are clear, no stomach problems, and he was happy with the appt. I also get to cut 1 med back into half at afternoon and bedtime, because it's sedating me. This is a good sign, how I'm doing better with less.

44 years ago today, DH & met! ♥ ♥ ;) ;) 6 weeks later, we married! 8-) Dmom had a fit because I was 18 1/2, out of college and DH was 29. LOL! But it's worked out! :!: Poor Dmom! Proved wrong again. She said it wouldn't last. ;)

DH and Dgs-14 are at Costco, grabbing a long hot dog and a pop to drink, then shopping for basic necessities. No big surprises, payday's tomorrow, and DH let me by the book talked about in the FlyLady emails. It's by FlyLady's real-life sister, Paddie P. Newlin with Ken Hartley with Jessica Oliver. It's called "HIDDEN TREASURES." It's something about 3 women sorting and organizing, they find treasures and learn things about themselves about the FlyLady system along the way. The women who have been "buzzing" about the book in FlyLady's emails, have said the book makes them laugh AND cry, they see themselves in this book and loved it. ♥ So I just "HAD" to have it and it's sort of a "we-met-44-years-ago" gift. Oh, back to Dgs-14.... He put some black thin fleece pants in the laundry basket, but hairs, threads, etc.. were on them. I used the lint remover sticky tube brush to remove that stuff, before washing. That should work out better.

Lilac, Congratulations on getting a new TV. :D

Twins' Mom, Did you end up going to the Y? :?:

Booksaver, It's good you're helping your Dmom and wise with the cooler, etc.. stuff for your car on the way home. :D

Sadie, That Amazon read as much as you want deal for $9.99 is a good one!

Also, the quilt your Dfriend gave you sounds wonderful! It sounds so beautiful and made with love, too. It sounds so loving and must make you feel closer to your Dmom, too. ♥ What a great Dfriend you have! :!: 8-)

LM, I must be living under a ROCK! Dunno what Everynote is, don't own an iPhone, have the old-fashioned flip phone, yadda-yadda! I'm glad you're more organized this way though. It's wonderful! :D

Lucylee, What's the Varsity? Is it a restaurant? :?: Or a club? :?:

Waving to Harriet and Nancy. I need to check the LOL, re-write my index card routines for my folder, write today's to do list, of which I should have written last night, but was in bed by 10 p.m. I'm so glad my 1 pill will be cut in half so I'm not "drugged" at night, sleeping way too sound and "drugged" in the a.m. or afternoon, requiring a nap or just a drowsy day.  I need to go fix pills and cut pills in half, too. Also, more good news. After this pill adjustment, I might be cutting down or out on another pill. It's causing my tinnitus to act up, makes me get a headache and get drowsy, too. I've lived without it before, for a few years, and not that I meditate, journal, listen to music, etc... I find myself relaxing easier and needing this particular pill less.

Have an awesome afternoon, Everybody! :D
